how badly this van or suv has been smashed up. when that family member arrived, he saw quite the destruction that happened to that car. it's the white ford expedition that ended up on its side. he believes his sister-in-law was driving the car with her husband and their children heading east on bold and something happened. maybe she got distracted and went over the median hitting two trees and ended up on the westbound lane. surprising to see how badly that car was damaged. csp tells us there were six people injured and taken to a nearby hospital. two being children. everyone should be okay. jesus garcia tells us this is a lesson for everyone. >> people be careful. anything can happen at any point. you never know. >> and so csp is looking into

live in littleton, shawn chitnis. >> shawn, thanks a lot. new this morning, we're seeing a virginia student who is he was he's accused of committing an anti-state crime against the north korean government. he read a statement apologizing. >> i'm begging to the korean people and government for my forgiveness and i'm praying to the heavens so i may be returned home to my family. >> he was arrested for attempting to steal a political banner. he was going to take it back to a church member as a trophy. there's no information on the punishment he may be facing.

bill involving mental health evaluation. there's so many shootings involving those with mental illness, jaime. >>reporter: during the theater trial, this was a big point of contention. whether or not james holmes mental health evaluation should be recorded via video and audio. of course, his defense team during this trial did not want this to happen. they argue that state law doesn't require it, and it would impact his responses. one psychiatrist testified saying he has recorded scores of examination and it shows that -- he also said the camera would be unintrusive and it would give more of an accurate and complete record than handwriting notes. with this bill being introduced this afternoon, it would require a court ordered mental health examination to be video and auto recorded. the da who prosecuted

for the reading of this bill. as will a juror from this case along with tom sullivan, the father of one of the victims of the shootings. live in denver jaime leary, cbs 4 morning news. >> jaime, thank you. take a look at this video. right now, we have blue ribbons honoring law enforcement along a stretch of highway 285. this comes after a shootout last week killed deputy nate carrigan and injured others. they put these ribbons along the road. yesterday, supporters continued that tribute all the way to kenosha pass. funeral for park county sheriff nate carrigan is scheduled for march 14th held at the faith bible church in nevada. he was killed last wednesday while serving an eviction notice. 58-year-old worth fired at deputies and he was killed. coloradans rally to show their support for law enforcement officers killed and
