good to have youith us. here's what's happen nothing the cbs 4 morning news. we have a hit-and-run in denver. coming up, the driver and vehicle police want to fight. >> plus super tuesday. >> it's a dominating fight on super tuesday for trump and clinton. i have the latest super tuesday results coming up. >> we'll break it down and self driving cars may be the biggest thing, but not everyone is a fan. we'll tell you how safe people feel riding in one. we have the weather changing and the winds kicking up. let's tell you about it. >> there's a few concerns because the winds but it's going to feel nice outside. lauren whitney is tracking the weather. >> taking a look at our winds.

collins, winds close to 30 miles-per-hour. and winter park, gusty. as we zoom in, black hawk, estes park, around 30 miles-an-hour. towards the lunch hour, things ramp up for us and we see our read flag warning go into place. 11:00 a.m. for the red flag warning down to the south. humidity as low as 14%. gust up to 150 mile z per -- 15 miles-per-hour. 20s and 30s on the eastern plains and the high countries, lots of 30s and 20s and 40s on the western slope. we have snow in our northwestern corner. we're looking at for snow in the high country, mainly during the morning hours and it gets lighter. across the front range, 60 degrees and partly sunny to mostly sunny. and around noon, 11:00 this morning, that's when the winds are going

we'll talk about first, let's check with joel hillan. >> we have a trouble spot at cherry and colfax. a car rolled traffic light. that's going to affect the traffic. look how it's effecting the drive along i-70 and highway 40 to winter park, and highway 103 and highway 6 and portions of 285 and alan, we're going to feel it along cl 470. >> thanks joel. we'll get to super tuesday in a moment. there's a medina alert after a hit-and-run that left a woman in judith park -- shawn chitnis live with details. >>reporter: alan, police are looking for help to try and get information from this hit run, or if anyone may have seen that car they're looking for. this

at this intersection. police say there's an updated description of the car they're looking for. it's a 1998 gray lincoln sedan with damage to its right side mirror and license qki-285. we could see police collecting evidence last night. there's clothes from the victim still on scene. that car was last scene traveling southeast on park avenue last. that alert has been out for several hours, so you'll probably notice it as you make your way around town especially on the freeways. live in denver, shawn chitnis. >> shawn, thank you. the morning after super tuesday and candidates are already forging onto the next race. here in colorado, an impressive turn out as democrats overwhelmingly support sanders. jaime leary is live with colorado results and what's next for us. good morning.

ders generated impressive support especially -- lines of voters surrounded denver and boulder more than an hour after caucusing began. the results, though, not a sure thing. a forecast as to who will win colorado's 66th delegates. this will be decided between now and the state convention in april. the caucuses are the first in the four-step process to select a nominee. each party holds assemblies in each county and district and the party conventions in april. both parties hold conventions in june. colorado republicans ban the president -- national gop required a binding delegate vote. state party leaders would have had no voice at the national convention if the winner here dropped out before then. instead, gop caucus goers declared their preference --

the winner will need 2 -- clintons leads on the democratic side with 1,033. sanders has 387. the winner will need 2, 083 delegates to win. >> maine and nebraska, the next big prizes are in two weeks. super tuesday part 2. they hold -- two cases of the zika viruses are confirmed here in colorado. both people have recovered. the state health department said the two got the disease by traveling to zika infected areas. it has led to thousands of cases of microcephali in brazil where babies are born with abnormally small heads. rockies are back in action and they're going to take the

another micro unit apartment building need plants for denver. it's in curtis park. here's our mark taylor with these small spaces. >>reporter: they want to turn this into this. each unit is 320 square feet and carries a rent of only $900. an answer to denver's sky high rent problems. but neighbors say there's a catch. >> he wasn't providing parking. >> johnny leaves feet away and says parking is already an issue in this historic neighborhood. >> all the city planning that went into building this neighborhood -- >> because of the lots low square footage and the zoning, the developer is not required to provide parking. neighbors believe they are taking advantage of a loophole. >> ideally we would like the developer to reconsider either the no parking or the number of units. >> the developer say the my grow

we have clear skies so you can see the moon. there's a few clouds. checking with our wind speeds, it's going to be a wicked day. 30 miles-an-hour in fort collins and 40 in winter park. and gusty in southern colorado. zooming into the front range, denver area, winds at 10 to 30 miles-an-hour in our foothill and we're going to see the winds head into the afternoon. by lunch time, they're going to start cranking. we have red flag warnings that start around humidity as 50 mile-per-hour gust in the front rain nge and eastern plains so get ready for very strong winds for us. it be extra careful. 47 in denver. 55 in boulder. 54 in fort collins. lots of 30s on the eastern plain plains. steamboat. we have 40 over in grand junction. satellite and radar shows clouds. snow in our high country and northwestern

that's going to stick around. through the morning hours, the snow breaks could get heavy. maybe an inch and gusty winds and visibility could be low if you're traveling through the high country this morning. the winds stay strong through the front range and easter plains. morning travel may be tougher through the high country. rain on the eastern plains possible. overnight tonight, the winds do start to slowly ease up and tomorrow, the winds should be relaxed as we head into the afternoon hours and a few more clouds tomorrow afternoon as well. temperatures today, 66 in denver. 62 in boulder and fort collins, 6 had in greeley. 60s on the eastern plains and 40s in our high countries. 40s and 60s to our west. 65 tomorrow. 61 on friday. just a slight chance of a few showers on friday. saturday, sunday, we're warm. 60s, low 70s. let's check with joel, good morning. >> hey, good morning. we're going to have a trouble spot at colfax and cherry. video from overnight.

median and went into a traffic light taking out a portion of that traffic load. they have been working to get that car cleaned up and moved out of the way. colfax and cherry remains closed this morning, and that may get into the morning -- police do suspect alcohol is a factor in that crash. he's i-70 and york. you can see the direction. we're seeing a few more cars on the roadway as you make your way in and out of town into commerce city. across the denver, metro area, you see good speeds. i-25, a little slowing as you get through the express lanes project. take a look into the foothills. this is where lauren has been tracking for us. wind is a factor along i-70 and highway 40. all these mountain highways up here. but lauren talking about, britt, it's going to affect us through i-25. anyone along i-70, i-76, you got us 36, it's a tough drive today.

in the cbs 4 morning health watch, stress can have an impact on your short term memory. mice repeatedly exposed to stress had a hard time escaping from a maze they previously mastered. researchers believe the findings could lead to new treatments for chronic stress. a dispatcher and newborn baby have a very special bond in oklahoma city. mark mcdonald got to meet the little boy he helped deliver over-the-phone. take a look, the baby's mother wasn't sure she was in labor until it was too late to her husband called 911 and mcdonald talked him through the process. this is the third baby he's delivered over-the-phone, but the first he's met. >> hearing the child cry, that's just, like, okay, we're good. we're breathing. >> music to our ears. baby macario is a week old. baby and mom are doing fine.

warmup today, but something comes along wh it. a little trouble. i'm alan gionet. >> and i'm britt moreno. the morning after super tuesday, we have a lot to update you on. first let's get to this forecast because it's concerning how strong these winds will be. good morning. >> good morning, you're right, britt. it's going to get windy around here. winds gusting around 50 miles-an-hour around the denver and eastern plains. winds close to 50 miles-an-hour along loveland pass and gusty from black hawk to nederland. just expect a windy day. and these winds aren't bad yet. they're going to progressively get worse as we head towards lunch hour and stay strong all afternoon. humidity will drop low. down to 14%. so with that, and the gust y winds, there's a -- the gusty winds, there's a red flag warning for eastern colorado. be careful. one spark can do a lot of damage with our dry conditions. 48 in fort collins. 20s 30s on the eastern plains.
