hour-by-hour forecast. mostly sunny skies early in the day. a few more clouds in the afternoon hours. snow in the high country today. maybe one or two stray showers will roll off. maybe denver will get it, but it stay in the foothill and our mountains. let's check with joel hillan. how is our drive? >> we've had side street trouble spots. this is u.s. 6 and sheraton. you can see nice and wide open as you make your way from lakewood into golden. speeds into the 60s southbound coming into town. 10 minutes is -- still plenty of space between the cars, but we're seeing cars out there on the road. not a lonely drive. this is a stalled vehicle on northville near -- in the high country, there's a chain and passenger restriction in place as you make your way to the eisenhower and johnson

the city issued warnings based on an ordinance that bans blocking of area ways like sidewalks. they say the camps have grown so large, it's a public safety concern, and health risk. the homeless hearsay that the shelter sometimes, those are just too crowded. >> there's 75 women all crowded into one room in the holy grocery overflow. >> i've been out here a year straight and i've been -- 21 days out of the year. >> i'll move, but if i get a ticket, i'll still go in and fight because it is inappropriate what they're doing. >> where are we going to go? >> some where else like colorado like the river or down the street. >> for me -- >> they can't kick homeless out of a camper. >> so that's the kind of consensus people have around here that i have spoken with. there's another place they've move and congregate.

>>reporter: britt, good morning. it's two different policies that take on two roles. one is the first of its kind in the country in boulder county approves it. the other will build on the policy here in the state of colorado. so one of those is for smoking in open spots around boulder county park and that including marijuana. this is state policy, but a change in county rules will let park rangers deal with anyone breaking that law. rangers get complaints about pets left in cars when it's too hot outside. people are concerned about pets getting enough ventilation and water. the other rule commissioners will consider will set limits on when a pet could be left in a car. this is -- if it's too hot or cold for pets to be left in a car, rangers could write up a ticket. it's not clear what temperatures is too

the boulder county commissioners were set to review the policies at a meeting beginning at 11:30. reporting live, shawn chitnis. >> shawn, thank you. new information on a man from westminster arrested for pretending to work for the division of motor vehicles. investigators say michael hopkins handed out counterfeit license in exchange for cash. they say he was giving them to people who could not get the licenses legally. victims who paid for fake licenses are asked to call the dmv hotline. a train derailed injured 9 people. the train hit a downed tree. one train car crashed into a creek. the train was traveling from san jose to stock -- traveling from stockton when it derailed. >> 10 people minor and 4 more

all the people that were on the train that are uninjured to the alameda county fairgrounds at this point. >> the investigation into what caused the train to fall on the tracks is underway. today, there will be no train service in the area, but buses available to commuters there. video shows a garbage truck crashing from a ramp. the man was driving a miami truck on president's day. he plunged off the side of the highway. the truck crashed onto the road 100 feet below, but amazingly, the driver did survive, but he was seriously hurt. 150 delegates are up for grabs. on the democratic side, there's two contest. dawn champion has the latest.

outside for us. not a bad start. 32 in greeley. 30 in grand junction if the we're cooler to -- and we're cooler to start the day. we have a little snow pops up on the western snow. we're going to stay dry. a few snow in the high countries and foothills. in denver and into the evening hours, we stay on the dry side. one or two pops in the denver area later tonight. we may get a quick burst of something on the west side of town. it doesn't look like it will be wide spread. by tomorrow morning, we're on the dry side and then we look at more snow and rain. a couple of pops may roll through the denver area. we may get rain for some. not everyone looks to get in on the action, but we may get rain tomorrow. 52 in denver. 51 in boulder. a lot of 50s, up per

with low 60s and in the mountains, 39 in frisco. 36 in steamboat and 54 in grand junction. more cloud cover through the afternoon and maybe a stray showers from the foothills. most of our snow and rain will stay in the direction into the mountains. 65 on thursday. we're really warmed and temperatures close to 70. let's check with joel. good morning. >> good morning, lauren. crews are going to try to complete repairs after a massive rock slide. you remember those pictures. rocks punching holes along i-70. one lane is opened in each direction with pilot cars some times. cdot warnings we could see closure like this. they're going to tact a helicopter and putting safety netting along the -- full closure, 9:00 a.m. until 4:00. this is loveland.

conditions get tough there. but this is i-70 near vail. you can see the tracks and tires. it's icy over vail pass. you can see the lower visibility you have as well. passenger restrictions in place as you get through the eisenhower tunnel. we're across the denver metro area. a trouble spot not on i-70. that's north field near i-270. 285, and 6th avenue wide open. we have a lot of cars out there. but not causing slowing. we're 5 to 10 miles-an-hour of that speed limit. southbound coming into town, that's a 10 minute drive. u.s. 36, a nice wide open drive. commerce city looking good with average speeds into the upper 60s. average speeds 68 miles-an-hour, but that's a 6 minute drive. >> joel, thank you. here's an incredible survival story. rescuers helped four snow mobilier's in grant county after they got caught in a storm.

the men came out of the trail head yesterday morning. they had been stranded in the back country since sunday. he's reporter, matt. >>reporter: after a long cold night, colorado's back country, four grateful snow mobilier's are reunited with family and friends. >> [indiscernible]. >> that was a good ride. >> got a little too thick in the clouds and dark. we decided to stop. >> the group were snowmobiling for deadly avalanching. several teams left not knowing what they would find. using cell phone pinging technology by good old fashion rub, search crews found the missing men just before 10:00 this morning. >> all four were together. god knew if they were all four together, they would be okay. >> searchers say the group was prepared with a survival kit

and a small emergency shelter after becoming lost in the dark and snow. >> i'm sure my wife is going crazy. >> it's a good reminder that conditions can change in an instant and snow mobilier's tells you being prepared is the difference between life and death. >> that was matt krocher reporting. the crews -- new video shows the safe recuse of a dog who spent four days trapped on an icy lake. that rescue on a reservoir came with no time to spare. police told sadie's owners that the ice was melting quickly and there wouldn't be solid ground for her to stand on. when rescuers arrived, sadie had fallen into the water, but they got her out in time. >> i was glad she's home. i kept checking on her every five minutes, like, is she there. i

>> it took four days to rescue sadie because when the rescuers got close to her, she would scramble away. a car has a tree sticking out of it. this was captured on a police dash cam in january in illinois near chicago. the woman was charged with drunk driving. she says she did not remember hitting the tree here. police posted the video on facebook and have more than 19,000 shares. and 13,000 likes.
