tonight, two people dead and two others wounded after a shooting in adams county. it happened after midnight at 54 and sheraton. >> we are live where it happened lauren, the deputies have already made two arrests in this case? >> reporter: they have made two arrests. this is where everything started right out in front of this home. they tell us not only are the two men, who they arrested, accused of committing murder but also of putting lots of other lives recklessly in danger. sleeping nearby when the shooting began. >> reporter: shortly after midnight sunday four people were shot in the berkeley village mobile home park on sheraton boulevard near i-76. two men were killed. >> it was scary. it was a crazy moment. >> reporter: a neighbor says he was baby-sitting his nieces and nephews when he heard the gunshot. >> i came outside and saw somebody laying on the street.

>> he was the one victim shot in the neck. and died instantly. [crying] in front all of our faces. >> reporter: he and friends were outside drinking at the time when another group of people started causing trouble. he says his brother and friends intervened to help their neighbors. >> they drove away and that is when they fired i was farthest-15-20 feet away from the guns being shot. i was really lucky not to get hit. but my friend who was in the back was the one. >> reporter: deputies have not said what they think led to the shooting. a few hours later they arrested two men who, they say, are

each faces murder charges. right now you are looking at the second of two homes involved in this shooting. the authorities have not yet identified the two men who were killed. we are told the other two people hurt are expected to be okay. one of them was shot in the leg,ing the other suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. we are live in adams county. cbs 4 news. >> thank you. developing now, a tragedy at the iron man triathlon in boulder. a cyclist is killed. we are live along the course where it happened. we just learned the victim's name? >> reporter: that is right. certainly a sad day for for the iron man try athlete community as they learned 34-year-old michelle walters from nebraska was killed along the cycling portion of today's event. manufacture making it to the finish line you see behind me. just before 10:00 this morning they responded to a car vs bike

of the weekend. new tonight, denver police department will collect racial data regarding traffic stops. that is according to the denver post. it comes after complaints of lack of accountability in the department. the chief says the information will keep the public informed after protests over alleged police brutality. the first time the department collected racial information regarding traffic stops in 14 years. today, the colorado stat at the douglas county fair. poem stopped by to place a rose on a vehicle where the tropper died. the trooper died last fall when a drunk driver hit her. the man that hit her was sentenced to 8 years in prison. >> olympic games are about more than sports. they highlight the culture of

prayers among the many headstones is just a small gesture for this couple who believe these fallen heroes deserve much more. >> they paoeut for what we believe and we all need to take that time in to recognize them and to thank them in their own way. >> kelly workman, cbs 4 news. one year anniversary of a mine spill. people in silverton is taking a jab. epa caused that spill that into the river. now, a brewery called the epa ipa it is a beer that resembles the color of the water. it comes days after the epa was ordered to pay another $1.2 million. the money will go to tribes, states and local governments effected by the spill three million gallons of the water flowed out. some argue the epa needs to pay even more for the damage.

the 90s today. the airport hit 90, downtown hitting 92. normal 89, record, 99. so, nowhere near the record but a little bit above normal. high pressure sitting off to the south and southeast. a low pressure to the northwest. that is the patern in the upper atmosphere. stays with us for a couple of days. 2 features we must watch for you going into the week ahead. this low pressure and a trough associated with it will start to graze colorado by thursday and friday. it is en bring cooler weather. what used to be hurricane earl now tropical storm javier scheduled to go up the western coast of new mexico and some of the moisture if it gets caught up in the flow could impact colorado later in the week ahead. a few wild cards that could cause the forecast to change especially getting into thursday and friday. now, for tonight, i think once the day time pop up showers die off you will have a good evening to sit out on the deck and patio. 50s and 60s statewide.

>> reporter: in shelters across the country with stops, players find themselves stopping to pet the animals. >> people have been coming in and visiting the stop and it is gyms and just looking at the animals and seeing what wonderful animals there are and ending up adopting them. >> reporter: jesse burns from animal shelter is promoting the pet adoption pair. >> that is the pokistop. >> right here. they have more than 200 animals who need homes. >> i think it is matthew really likes the game pokimon and likes pets. he would like to adopt another dog at this pokimon stop to go with the 2 dogs at home. his parents don't mind pokimon but don't want another pet. >> do you think you can push them to 3? >> i have tried. >> reporter: still, other players are adopting animals. >> anything to encourage adoption or people coming into the shelter is wonderful. a fun way of doing that. clouds. don't believe everything that you see, right, chris? >> yes. sometimes the bark is worse than the bite. might be the case for today. where we need the bark to stop is southwest colorado. we have heavy rain down there flood advisories to the north of durango. the area of the state has seen 5 inches of rain in the last few days and 1 1/2 inches today. look at the pictures from the sheriff. a mudslide in progress on highway 145 near highway 62 traffic jam because of this mudslide. rain-cooled air in teluride, 53 degrees, chilly down there the rest of the state, 70s up high and 80s down low. rain cooled at 77 degrees. weather watcher, jordan, 84 south of bennett. she says winds picked up. she sees the clouds. can we get rain on the prairie? well, if i can make rain, joy, i would. here is a view of the library camera. dark clouds over the city.

this. watching the batch of showers down near the pikes peak region and seeing a good area of showers trying to develop over the divide and the front range foothills. every now and then you will see moderate rain in that. that is pushing to the east. we will see if it can come off of the hills. just here in the last few scans 9:00, or 10:00 the showers die off. the pressure to the southeast. low to the northwest. watching the trough of low pressure, middle week. grazing northern colorado with a cold front. an old hurricane that crsed mexico and reformed now javier threatens to come to the north and send mostire towards colorado over the next few days. a lot to -- send moisture towards colorado over the next few days. a lot to watch. places, records, 99, 50 degrees. tonight, we will drop into the
