200 and 300 acres. we need rain. there are some showers out there. justin mcafee live. >> it's good to see some rain on the plains but at least four denver, i don't think we will see much moisture for the rest of the day. a lot of these storms have been producing lightning. i'm in the cab of the truck looking south. you can see some of those dark looking clouds slowly. until 7 pm in south central el paso county, there is a flash flood warning. that is to the southeast of colorado springs. we will take a look at radar and see where those storms are heading. the western half of the state is generally dry. southeast of denver, you can see that long line of storms from limon into pueblo. they are producing some beneficial moisture but with

fire. you can see those clouds producing cloud to ground lightning strikes. we are going to monitor these conditions for the rest of the evening. live tonight in washington county, justin mcafee cbs4 news. new developments in the case of a missing teenager. 14-year-old alice caver is from westminster and she has been found safe. we know the girl has developmental disabilities >> she sure does. the search started as soon as she didn't return home. she had been at a dog park. her mom called her in missing immediately. we learned this evening she was found at a salon in superior. life in westminster tonight. kelly, what have you learned? >> reporter: police just telling us a short time ago it actually was an observant citizens -- citizen who spotted

superior and police say she was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. alice also told police after her mom dropped her off at this dog park, that her dog got off its leash. she went to chase after her dog and that's when she got lost, something that near 20 hour search. by air, land and water, crews desperately searched for 14- year-old alice caver. last night, about 6:20 pm, alice's mom dr to the dog park. >> what hounds scoured the dog park where alice was last seen and nearly 18 hours after being reported missing, the developmentally disabled teenager was found at a hair salon in superior. >> alice is diagnosed with a high functioning type of autism . she has low functioning intellect. she understands some right and wrong, directional type things

14-year-old level. >> reporter: investigators say it's not uncommon for her to walk her dog alone but unusual for her not to return home. >> this is a regular routine for alice. the dog keeps a calm. they walked through the dog park home, a few blocks east. >> reporter: alice also told police she thought she was heading in the direction of her home but when she realized she was lost, that's when she says she fell asleep in the grass, waking up this morning and found this afternoon. as for chip, they have yet to find the dog. kelly werthmann, cbs4 news. we do have new details on a cyclist hit and killed during a triathlon in boulder. investigators say it's unlikely the driver will be charged. the victim was hit on u.s. 36 near broadway. she has been identified as

drifted out of her laying. >> it was working for everybody else that was in the race. for whatever reason, this person left that lane and jumped into the path of this truck. >> walters lease behind a young child. she had been studying to be a nurse. this is the fourth time a driver has hit and killed a cyclist in boulder county in the last 2.5 months. new information about what caused a fire on a skydiving plane in bullet -- struck a bird. 15 skydivers parachuted before the plane made a safe emergency landing but skydivers had to jump 3000 feet up. usually, they job at 12,000 feet. still, no one was hurt and the ntsb will investigate. a computer crash grounded delta airline flights all around the world including

last year, our state reported 101 cases of west nile including three deaths. starting today, e-cigarettes are being regulated like regular cigarettes. >> it's part of an effort to protect future generations from the dangers of tobacco. kathy walsh joins us now. >> reporter: the fda announced these regulations back in may. they want to limit teenager access to the products. many are fuming about other rules that could matthew dropped regular cigarettes for electronic cigarettes about a year ago. >> it doesn't have that same aftertaste of cigarettes. >> reporter: but new government rules are designed to keep the products out of the hands of minors. >> the regulations make it illegal to sell is cigarettes, cigars, or hookah tobacco products to anyone under 18. >> that's nothing new in colorado.

a flash flood warning in el paso county for slow-moving storms. that goes until 7:00 candidates in southern el paso county. here is the big picture. all up and down the front range, scattered storms. cold front to the north. this will provide cooling as the week goes on. showers and thunderstorms spreading to the gulf coast. you get to the north and they dry out a start of 890 is normal. the soft breeze at 8 miles per hour and 70% humidity and a falling barometer. this one in the highway 145 near 62. you can see this is along the colorado river. we also have a pretty nice shot from michael smith.
