deputies serve that warrant. 27-year-old christopher derby pled guilty in may. the victim ended up needing stitches. the attack happened last year on broadway. jennifer, live in denver where all this started. the judge handed out a pretty stiff sentence? >> reporter: it certain was, karen. christopher derby told the judge he was sorry, but the judge says these types of crimes will not be tolat sentence that was possible. now, this is some pictures of the victim. this is days after the 23-year-old woman got attacked. she showed cbs4 the aftermath. jaclyn and friends waited for a uber when without warn ago stranger hit her in the face. fitzpatrick said two men approached her and not only attacked her physically, but

motivated crime. the judge gave him four years in prison, the maximum allowed by the plea deal. he says he was drunk. but the district attorney's office says that is not excuse, especially given his history. >> i was worried he would use alcohol as an excuse for his behavior. it seemed to me after his first felony offense of menacing he chose to do probation. itn' he got probation. it didn't work. >> reporter: and derby was also given two yeefrs mandatory pro -- years mandatory probation in order to pay restitution. right now two teenagers are believed to burglarized a school with $10,000 worth of damage. at the montessori school.

right now a new two-way bike lane is on south wayn parking lane to make room for the cyclists. they say they love the new lanes, but business owners say they are still worried about safety. >> it's actually pretty dangerous. i was making a turn right here and this guy was using the bike lane going the other way. i didn't see him until the last minute. >> i love it. broadway is a hassle, but there is a lot to do.
