i can hear the wind! >> reporter: the kind is kicking up from time to time. a nice shower moved through. we have about 0.01 of an inch of water. bigger change is the temperature. when the shower came through, our temperatures cooled down from a high of 87 degrees downtown to where we sit right now in the 70s and 60s. from dia up to southern wyoming, some of 70s and even 60s. it's 68 in city park. and look at conifer, 59 degrees, cool up there. there's the shower action, blasting through denver. along with some gusty winds, but as we wide than view out. you can see a ton of moisture coming in over the mountains, mixing with cool air. i would call the wave that came through today slightly cooler. it extends up into

when this area comes through, tomorrow's temperatures will be way below normal for this time of year! almost a hint of fall. and coming up, i'll show you where it might actually snow tomorrow morning. happening now, some evacuations have been riched for people -- lifted for people affected by a large wildfire in sout. people were told to leave their homes this week. this is a fire that has burned some 49 square miles. it's about an hour outside of los angeles. chris martinez is live in wrightwood for us, and this fire is still growing >> reporter: it is growing a bit. there are some areas where firefighters have been able to stop the forward progress of in fire. but look at the flames

homes up there. this is all just really thick, dry brush. in spots, firefighters are camped out making sure they don't lose anymore houses. there are signs fire krurs making process -- crews are making progress. the wildfire forced tens of thousands to evacuate since is erupted tuesday morning. some of the evacuation rsd have been lifted -- orders have been lifted. interstate reopened. some who live in wrightwood deified evacuation orders. >> we're packed up and ready to go. >> our whole life is here. >> reporter: fire crews are attacking the fire from the ground and heavily from the air but have struggled it keep it from growing. on wednesday, flames ripped through neighborhoods in the town of

direction, up-canyon, and carried this fire in a bunch of different directions >> reporter: 1,500 firefighters are battling this fire burning in an area larger than the city of san francisco. many residents are uncertain what they'll find when they return home. >> i don't want to have to start over again with nothing >> reporter: california's governor has declared a state of emergency. >> reporter: something we still don't know at this point is how many homes or businesses or we have heard from firefighters over the past few days, they have seen dozens of buildings burning but they have not been able to take any accurate count on what has been lost. as for the evacuations, a lot of folks who live on this side of the fire are out of their homes. it's a big chunk of folks on the east side of the fire coming back tonight, most of them hopefully will have properties

birrfeld murder trial. she charged with first degree murder. matt kroschel has been following this trial from the beginning for us. matt? >> reporter: the producing expected to -- prosecution expected to wrap up their case on monday. we heard a lot from forensic experts today as they outlined the amount of work that a lot of work trying to find out how paige was killed and to identify those remains. today trying to seek some scientific answers to some very big questions and who did this. medical professionals telling the jury none of them could testimony for sure how paige birgfeld died. >> we looked for knife marks,

home sxls i don't have anything else. >> it was cold that day. we needed our stuff. some of us had stuff to go do and we come back to nothing >> reporter: a similar lawsuit in california led to an award of $2 million. is police say ryan lochte robbed about getting robbed at dpupt, and are this footage -- gunpoint, and this footage shows ordered to sit on the ground with their hands in the air, but police say not by a robber. >> reporter: brazilian police say this is a confrontation with a security toward over damage to a bathroom. not an armed robbery. this new information contradicts what ryan lochte claimed earlier this week. >> pulled out as i gun, heacocked it, put it to my forehead. and i put my hands up, like whatever.

they're trying to get this initiative dismissed all together f. those distributedors are taxed, which is what the initiative says, the sugary beverage will cost more than $2. it comes down to the language of the summary of it. the attorneys arguing the $9,200 people didn't have an adequate summary of what the ballot measure was it. left out information about the colorado taxpayer bill rieftd, which would mean the clementation of a new tax if those who created the petition to tax soda and other sugary drinks say that it was clear what people were signing. so the city clerkville to decide if the attorneys for cba made the opposite successful argument. >> it didn't tell people this was actually to adopt a new tax. >> there have been people who talked about the aggressive
