good morning, everybody. i'm alan gionet. >> and i'm britt moreno. thks its news breaking at 4:30. in centennial, there's a deadly crash. >> let's go to -- >>reporter: we the middle of this residential neighborhood. crest line and buckley closed. they're keeping us away from the accident scene. it's behind me, but i want to show you we were able to get closer earlier this morning. you can see one of the vehicles involved in this accident, we're told this is a motorcycle verses car. that's a subaru. you can see heavy, heavy front end damage to the subaru. not much

time. it was after 3:00 the arapahoe police department tweeted news of the fatal accident. the accident involving a subaru and motorcycle. the subaru still there at this point in time. there's was quite the scene earlier. officials from the sheriff's office was combing the area. a lot of debris associated with this accident. crestline and buckley closed. it's going to take a toll on the morning commute as well. that's also with t office tweeted. all updated will not confirm anyone on scene. limited details available. 1 person died as a result of this accident. we're going to stay on scene and get details as they but come available. jaime leary, cbs4. >> a lot of kids going back to school, so the weather is a big deal. lauren is back with us. good morning. rnlts we're off

morning. that we paving project not causing delays. >> joel, thank you. police want to find a killer this morning after a man is shot dead outside of a strip club. it happened early sunday morning in denver. andrea flores takes a look at this investigation. >>reporter: family members of a man shot and killed behind pc -- they're looking for answers. their emotions ran high as denver police worked through the day to piece together behind like beer cans and a baseball cap. >> is this your vehicle? >> yep. >> officers responded to the scene near hamilton and galena just after 3:00. >> somebody shot find the building. >> they found a man left for dead on the sidewalk. jaime was surprised to come among the accident -- >> it's an eye opener and keeps us on alert. >> it's unclear if the club is

reporting. police haven't released the name of the victim. this morning, we're waiting on suspect descriptions. governor andrew cuomo -- this happened yesterday at 9:30. among those killed, a man, his sister and 10-year old son on the way to the boy's birthday party at a water park. their car may have been speeding across the median, a honda and bmw. state patrol wants to find a second vehicle in a racing incident that ended with a crash killing one at federal and i-76 saturday. this happened just before 5:00. the driver of a chevy sedan was sent to the hocht and expected to face charges. officials thinks

weren't able to get a good enough description. a high high woman mistook the gas peddle for the brake and she crashed into people. she hit the gas when her car backed into a dance house. two injured are in serious conditions and injured are in their 60s and 70s. they were listening to the martin summer new cases of elderly bus. a suspect hulk has been arrested. the victim said she had been taking care of her, but the family said the victim had been brainwashed. >> my mom was hiding everything going on from my sister and i. we didn't have a clue on what was going on. >>reporter: julie move need this lafayette home with the elderly victim. over time she gained

watch, the safest way to help teens lose weight. those parents who encourage their children to be more active is likely to have an eating disorder. that's according to the american academy of pediatrics which recommends parents discourage teens from dieting, skipping meals or using diet pills. a new study shows drivers under the influence of alcohol drunk drivers won't drive with children in the front instead of the recommended backseat. if you hate your job and in you're late 20s 30s, it could effect your health. researches tracked 6,000 people and those unhappy in their careers are more depressed and worried and having trouble sleeping in life.

you have the situation with flooding in louisiana. >> zika has been linked to devastating birth detects in pregnant women. the cdc is advising those women getting pregnant and their partners to postpone going to the florida areas at the center of the outbreak. brian web, cbs4 news. >> the nhi begunti new video of a dust storming rolling into the phoenix, arizona. it happened last nightt night between 6:00 and 7:00. the dust storm was carried by wind gust of 30 to 40 miles-per-hour. there it is. it dropped the visibility in the phoenix area to less than a quarter of a mile and forced to slowdown traffic and drivers had to pull over as visibility gets worse and worse. >> tough to see in there.

we have a chance of more afternoon rain. it heads into denver and our high country and the eastern plains. looking at our temperatures for today. another hot one. 91 yesterday. today, 93. 92 in greeley . 89 in burlington. lots of 90s on the eastern plains with ray. in the high country, plenty of 70s. 73 in aspen. 84 in going. it is the first day of school for denver schools. our bus stop should be nice. sunny skies to start. 65 degrees. don't ha t first day of school. for us that have to go to work, 69 degrees by 8:00 p.m. and 90 by noon. isolated in denver later in the evening. 86 tomorrow. we cool off more. 77 on wednesday. nice cool down for the mid-week, but we warm back up to the 80s by friday. let's check with joel, good morning. good morning, we start with a traffic alert. we go to

they wrapped up in littleton over the weekend. kelly werthmann got a chance to speak with the competitors whose love of the game is wonderful to see. >>reporter: while the world is busy watching olympians compete in rio, colorado families are supporting special athletes giving their all in highland's ranch. >> how did you win that gold medal. >> i did good in tennis. >> they all always play to the highest level that they could can. they care part of the team or individual sport. they're excited to be out here. >> it's a privilege to be in the special olympics. >> alex is among the 600 athletes taking part in the colorado special olympics at red stone park. like his competition, he loves tennis. >> certain shots are hard, but once you get in the groove -- when you start getting used to it, then it comes naturally. >> my favorite game is tennis

there's a battle brewing for the quarterback job. so far there's no clear choices as to whom will start in the opener against the carolina panthers. for a quarter saturday night, it seemed like semeian might be that good. disaster struck. a pick six and semeian no longer looked like a sure thing. sanchez stepped in. reverted to his old ways with two fumbles and he could be coughing up his chance to win this competition. >> i wanted a great opportunity to separate myself and i put myself in a bad situation. poor quarterback play. >> i made a bad decision. a guy played flat, and i won that one back. there's positives and i can't turn the ball over.
