flood ravished louisiana. what the state's governor is saying about a visit by president obama and the recent one made by presidential candidate trump. this is the news at 5:00. a deadly motorcycle crash has a major road closed. >> yeah. jaime leary is working this one. she's live from crest line near the crash scene. good morning, jaime. >>reporter: good morning, britt. this is the closest we were able to get. they're keeping us away om this is the smoky hill neighborhood. a residential area of centennial. we were able to get a little closer earlier. take a look at the damage that was done. there are two vehicles involved in this accident. you can see the subaru right there. just around the corner, around that fence there from the subaru is the motorcycle. we weren't able to get a visual on the motorcycle, but you can see how heavily damaged the front end of that subaru is. the side

one of these homes in the smoky hill division. the arapahoe county sheriff's office tweeted just after 3:00, the news of this fatal accident. we can assume it happened around that time this morning. early, early morning accident. two vehicles involved. it's unclear who the victim is in this incident. the arapahoe county sheriff's not providing a lot of information. they said the information they will provide will come via twitter feed. right now, crest line and buckley closed. seriously impacting the morning commute. for more information on how this will impact your commute, let's check with joel. >> this is buckley and crest line. it cuts through the middle and we've got the closure of buckley from smoky hill through orchard this morning. you can take tower or cut across on orchard.

northbound along parker road and come north along chambers. if you're trying to access la jolla middle school, it's probably best to avoid that area and go through smoky hill. temperatures are fairly mild as we start off this monday morning. 49 in lineman. 58 in burlington. 73 in going. it's the first day of school it's the first day of school. over inform britt and alan. smashed into them at east iliff road. a four runner lost control and the driver started to slide. the four runner slid and landed on its wheels. the driver tried to leave but the engine died. the ambulance took

a driver and passengers in the four runner were taken to the hospital and have minor injuries. police say that speed and alcohol is probably factors in that crash. president obama spent the last 16 days on vacation and it did not go unnoticed by some critics. they say he has ignored the people forced from their homes by flooding in louisiana. here's kitchen hutchingson from louisiana'sgo louisiana you can see homes damaged by flooding. 2600 national guards man have been joined by volunteers from other groups. fema has approved $55 million in temporary assistance. plus $15 million in advanced national flood insurance payments. the small business administration is setting up recovery centers. the salvation

there's a little rain in our south western corner, but that's it. it should be a mellow start to the day. denver schools start today. back to school bus stop forecast, sunny sky and a great morning with temperatures in the mid-60s. it should be pleasant out there. on the way home from school, kids should nice conditions and hot at recess. temperatures in the 90s. there's a chance for an isolated storm. we'll talk about that in a morning. joel is tracking our drive. >> construction p here's one along c-470. they're doing pavement work through morrison. that's causing slowing along c-470 as you go both directions of i 285. we're across the denver-metro area, there's crossing gates that aren't working properly as you travel along i-40 south of i-70. it could cause delays. we have arapahoe and i-25 and we've been

crest line. a part of crest line is shut down. >> thank you for that. happening tomorrow, democratic vice presidential candidate tim kaine. the visit was confirmed yesterday. and kaine will head there to meet with business leaders. yesterday morning to find their cars vandalized. so far police don't have potential suspects and unclear why the vehicles were targeted. more cars getting ripped off in colorado. denver lead the state in auto thefts with an advantage of 286 stolen cars a week. colorado springs, lakewood and aurora round out the top 5 and howard nathan looks for answers. >>reporter: this flashing sign posted by the denver police

the horror of a suicide bombing at a wedding in turkey that killed 51 people is more shocking. we're worried about the age of the bomber. half the victims were under 14. weijia jiang tells us the suicide bomber was alsong powerful it shattered glass and took out chunks of concrete from buildings in a town near the turkish-syrian border. police say the suicide bomber was between 12 and 14-year old. some of the badly injured are around the same age. >> this little girl was hit in the face with sharp knowledge and one of the guest who gathered for a wedding celebration saturday night.

not life-threatening -- he walked the halls to comfort the victim. turkey is trying to rebound from the coop attempt last month. they believe it was in retaliation -- several bombers set off explosions. 44 people were killed. fi deadliest in turkey so far this year. weijia jiang, cbs news, washington. people are preparing for an approaching typhoon in japan and said to bring heavy rains and flooding. a storm warning is in effect and it's already having an impact on travel. more than 200 flights have cancelled by in a pen and japan airlines. >> it's a mess. the hurricane can cause a

stocks are mixed ahead of the open this morning. the nba will bring good news to louisiana. he's kenneth craig with your money watch. >>reporter: new orleans will host the 2017 nba all-star game after the nba pulled out the north carolina because of its charlotte was expecting an economic impact of $100 million. a number of entertainers cancelled shows in north carolina. stocks fell friday. the dow was down 45. the nasdaq fell 1. self-driving vehicles could soog the pavement in ohio. testing on ohio's toll road is set to began within the next year. ohio is one of the handful of states starting to test and research self-driving vehicles.

good morning, everyone. this is the news breaking at 5:30 on this monday morning. a deadly motorcycle crash has closed a major intersection there. this could effect your morning drive. >> jaime leary live at crest

accident happened. >> neighbors say this is a smoky hill subdivision. i want to show you video of the actual crash scene. this is a portion of the crash that involves two vehicles. a motorcycle and a subaru. it was just after 3:00 this morning that the arapahoe county sheriff's office tweeted out the news of this fatal accident. so a very early morning accident. we're not sure who the victim is in this case, but you can see the heavy front end damage to the subaru. it's a black subaru for smoky hill neighborhood is where this occurred on centennial. again, not a lot of information available about this accident. we're told there's a lot of debris on scene as a result. so the arapahoe county sheriff's office is on scene. they've cleared off a big section to investigate. this is going to be ongoing this morning. and very likely will impact your morning commute. for more information on exactly where
