accident happened. >> neighbors say this is a smoky hill subdivision. i want to show you video of the actual crash scene. this is a portion of the crash that involves two vehicles. a motorcycle and a subaru. it was just after 3:00 this morning that the arapahoe county sheriff's office tweeted out the news of this fatal accident. so a very early morning accident. we're not sure who the victim is in this case, but you can see the heavy front end damage to the subaru. it's a black subaru for smoky hill neighborhood is where this occurred on centennial. again, not a lot of information available about this accident. we're told there's a lot of debris on scene as a result. so the arapahoe county sheriff's office is on scene. they've cleared off a big section to investigate. this is going to be ongoing this morning. and very likely will impact your morning commute. for more information on exactly where

roundabout ways you might have to take, let's talk to joel. good morning. >> good morning, jaime. we follow this traffic alert at buckley. you can see crest line along there. you have the middle school south of smoky hill road. a lot of traffic is going to go along that stretch this morning. you can take tower or chambers. you need to head along orchard and parking road. >> there's going to be a few more kids out the heads back to school. sunny skies and partly sunny. a great morning, temperatures in the mid-60s and nice for the kids and recess may be hot. we're going to see temperatures in the 90s. we'll talk more about that in a moment, but first back to britt and alan. >> lauren, thank you so much. police want to find a killer after a man is shot and killed outside of a club. this happened overnight sunday in denver. andrea flores takes a look at the investigation. >>reporter: family members of a

club early sunday morning are looking for answers. their emotions ran high as denver police worked through the morning to piece together -- >> officers responded to the scene near hamilton and galena just after 3:00. >> somebody shot behind the building. >> there they found a man left for dead on the sidewalk. kimy gin was surprised to come across the investigation on class. >> it's an eye opener. it keeps us on alert. >> it's unclear if the club is connected to the shooting. >> andrea flores reporting for us. police have not released the name of the victim, but we're awaiting word on a specific -- a crash happened. a man and his sister and a 10-year old who

police say their car though may have been speeding. they crossed a median and smashed into a honda and a bmw. former comow aide scott what with his finance'. he died and she survived. a crash killed one at federal and i-76. it happened a driver of a silver sedan died. the driver driving -- the state patrol says another vehicle was likely racing, but they were not able to get a good enough description to locate that vehicle clarjs could be in store for an ohio woman who -- charges could be in store for an ohio woman who mistook the brake for

clinton has spent $67 million on general election ads. new developments in a case of elderly a bruce. cbs4 learned the suspect julie has been arrested. the victim, an elderly woman told police that julie had been taking care of her, but family members say their elderly mother had been brain washed. >> my mom was hiding everything going on from my sister and i. we didn't >>reporter: julie moved into the home with this victim. she was written into the victim 's will. they believe she was working to drain the victim's bank account and take the money from selling the house. in july, the victim died. >> i would love to see julie behind bars so she can't do to this to any other family at any

area. nice broncos orange to start off the day. it's the first day of school for denver schools. let's look at temperatures because we're warmer this morning than where we had been. 15 degrees warmer in denver -- 67 in denver to start. 59 in boulevard. 58 in burlington. 52 in aspen and avon 73. grand junction to start off this monday morning -- a little rain rest of us on the dry side. and we have a chance for rain later today in the high country and starts in the southwest as we head towards the lunch time hour. could get heavier pockets rains. this could move into the foothills as we move into the evening and afternoon hours. we may get showers around 5:00 tonight. for us it may take a while. overnight, rain in the mountain areas and a little on the western slope to start the day tomorrow and we have a

nearby so there's going to be a lot more volume as we head into the next hour or so as that investigation does continue. we're going to see more traffic backed up along smoky hill. that's the best way to access to the middle skooft. you can take chambers or towers to get northbound along through that area. if you take orchard and you're trying to get north on chambers, you have to head north on parker road. we're across the denver-metro area, a trouble spot at 31st and downing and there's lights flashing. treat that as a four-way spot. somebody along c-470 on the approach to 285 as their continued roadway through that stretch. the drive southbound coming into town, speeds goes from the 70s to the 60s and 50s. we'll see those continue to decline especially as you get to 104th in the

mosquitos. the area is across the from original zika zone in the wind wood arts district. federal health officials say other state in the gulf coast may be at-risk. >> i would not be surprised if we see cases in texas and louisiana, particularly now when you have the situation with flooding in louisiana. >> zika has been linked to devastating birth defects in pregnant women. the cdc is advising women who plan pregnant, expectant mother and their partners to postpone the two florida areas at the center of the outbreak. brian web for cbs news. >> they say zika could hang around for a year or two in the u.s.. the nih began testing a vaccine. congress went home without approving the request for funding to fight zika. this is an incredible story.

over tossing everyone out including a toddler. their boat hit a wiring that supports a telephone pole and flipped. now, mom says they frantically searched for the baby and they could hear the baby crying, but they couldn't find her until police came on the scene and realized the baby was caught in an air pocket under the capsized boat. >> i jumped in the water and we tried to search and we couldn't tell where the crying coming from. we got the phone to work under water. called 911 and they cam looking and looking and we kept hearing her and they cried to her and they thought they heard her and she was under the boat in an our pocket. >> can you imagine that. paramedic and fire crews on the scene checked out the 23-month-old baby and say she's alive today because she had on a life jacket. >> well, we start the week with no clear choice on which quarterback is going to get the

a residential area in centennial. so people trying to figure out how to make their way around this accident scene of the -- i want to show you a portion of the accident scene. the arapahoe county sheriff's office tweeted the news of the fatal accident. we know 1 person dead. you can see a black subaru right there that has heavy, heavy front end damage. we're told the motorcycle is around the corner of the fence. unable to see a lot of debris as a result of this accident. the subaru was in the front yard of one of these homes in the smoky hills division. the investigation continues this morning and because of how serious that accident is, i believe that these officers are going to be on scene for quite some time. right now, a lot of information still needs to be found out. arapahoe county sheriff's office tweeting as much as they can. it's early in
