denver international airport. that crash was at the end of a string of bizarre incidents. >> reporter: yes, this man's bizarre behavior is the main reason hep was hospitalized. this is the reason he has yet to be charged. that man was screaming and flailing his arms, chased him around the outside of epley airfield in omaha into the parking garage where he stripped down to his boxers. omaha police say and hid in some bushes. they ended up losing him for a period of time because of that. they finally saw him again as he was scaling an eight foot tall bashed wire fence leading to the tarmac. once he got over the fence, he found an unattended pickup truck and drove it into the landing gear of a southwest plane on their way to dia. the plane's nose gear tires

they arrived here at dia around midnight last night three hours after they were supposed to be here. two pilots reported minor injuries but refused treatment. i talked to omaha police. they say he is still in the hospital. based on his erratic behavior, it could be a couple more days before he is released. but we could know a little more about this suspect and the reason for his erratic behavior. live from dia, jamie leary, cbs4 news. >> a lot more to learn on this one. thank collins police have an arrest in a hit and run that left a bicyclist hurt. a car hit 26-year-old emily clark in a lane of eastbound mulberry. sended up in the hospital. deputies found a damaged kia rio. they arrested kenneth june. larimer county sheriff is investigating a deadly shooting involving a fort collins police

college avenue. a woman reported an armed man was threatening her and several others and when officers arrived, they saw the man enter the home. he didn't come out when officers told him to, but they said he had a weapon, so he used a tazer. they said he kept approaching them so they shot him. he died at a hospital. aftershocks continue to cause damage in central italy making recovery efforts more difficult. those earthquakes are damaging histic leave towns isolated. cbs news' jonathan vigliotti has the latest from hard hit amatrice. >> reporter: rescue dogs are searching the piles of brick and stone that were once buildings. the race is onto find survivors. this trainer says the dogs are brought to areas where they believe there are missing

destruction is underwhelming. several people have been fulled from the debris since the quake struck wednesday, but the odds of finding survivors are diminishing by the hour. aftershocks are slowing the effort. more than 1,000 of them have shaken the already unstable ruins. and are threatening to close the roads into amatrice. this home puts the devastation of this quake into perspective. when the quake hit at 3:00 in the morning, the home collapsed on top of itself. inside, aslet family of three. neighbors here say they didn't make it out alive. for many, the search for loved ones ends here at a small airport in the regional capital of rietti. grieving relatives are going in and out of the hangar where dozens of bodies await identification.

beautiful video this morning of snow capped mount evans. look at all the snow. let's check in with meteorologist dave aguilera. >> yeah, the skiers are chomping at the bits to hit mountains. we have blue skies. we have broken throw the clouds. but if you look at the mountain camera, you can see the clouds building up and that is where the thunderstorms will come from. we have another cool day at the moment. it is 68 in greeley. 72 we are cool again. on the doppler 4,000, we are starting to see a few buildups in the mountains. a couple of lightning bolts in southern wyoming. a couple of green patches, that's the thunderstorms building up. and i'm already seeing along the continental divide, a little rain mix with snow starting to develop. it is cool enough up there that we are seeing a little bit of freezing way up high. now, this afternoon, from is a chance we could see some severe

of fort collins from about greeley to dia and pushing out into eastern colorado. one or two storms could get kind of big with some hail and damaging winds. so, we will have to watch for that. i will give you a time line on when we might see storms here in denver and, the word is there's a warm weekend ahead. i'll show you how warm the numbers will get coming up in a little bit. >> thanks dave. now to campaign 2016. campaigning appears to have cbs's weijia jiang examines the accusations now of bigotry. >> reporter: donald trump arrives in nevada today where he will make his case to latino voters. last night, he shifted his stance on immigration again after he stopped saying he would deport all undocumented immigranted and promised a firm but fair plan. >> i don't think it is a softening. >> but 11 million people will no longer be deported.

voters. weijia jiang, cbs news, the white house. happening right now, markets are still digesting word that janet yellen is considering an interest rate hike. she says the outlook has improved but has not given a time line for a rate hike. the markets jumped immediately following the comments but then reversed course after another fed official made warnings about the dow is at now. you have up and then you have down. that is where we are now. new developments as france ice high court overturns bans on burkinis in some french riviera towns. they banned the full body bathing suits saying it fed tensions in the area especially

and, now, the decision is final. and, there is no other appeal. so it will be the last decision in france about this topic. >> he says that means towns cannot ban the burkinis but, the mayor of one town says he will not lift the ban saying the ruling will heighten tensions. one lawmaker has indicated he will push for a national law to ban burkinis. the united nations is evacuation of a suburb of damascus, syria. they reached a deal to get around 5,000 people out of a suburb that has been under siege. the united nations says it was not involved in the deal and the people are being evacuated need protection. coming up, this noon, we have heard a lot about the broncos quarterback situation. but, how is the coach feeling about the rest of the team? we will hear from him.

location. warmup is very slow. that will change today. 69 is where we are at with a northwest wind at 6. humidity at 47% and high pressure 3050. mark our weather watcher says it is 58 degrees. but it was 38 this morning and he could see the snow on the peaks. ronald is already at 70 degrees in southwest lakewood. here is the cloud cover we had early before we even got started on the morning show, we had a few sprinkles going through the city. those moved out during the course of the morning, now, they are all the way up into nebraska where they are turning into big thunderstorms. little tiny storm south of sterling. we are seeing a few popups starting in some of the mountains as well. nothing really heavy yet. could turn heavy later this afternoon. cool air still in place over the nation's midsection with a low just moving right across the eastern plains.

that will be enough to get some thunderstorms this afternoon. there is high pressure on the weather map here over california moving into nevada. that will slide in over the course of the weekend and dry us out and warm us up a little bit. so for this afternoon, here we go. later this afternoon and evening, some of the eastern plains, one or two of these storms could turn severe meaning large hail and gusty wind. we will watch for that. during the evening, still a few showers going on in the northern mountains pulling to collins or greeley, you may have a few showers linger all the way into 10:00 or 11:00. highs, very comfortable. 70s and 80s here at the east. most likely in the 60s . there are overnight lows in the high country dropping into the 30s . so kind of chilly. here's the five day forecast. 76 with showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. low tonight, 52. warmer tomorrow to start the weekend.
