and bayad. that's a heavily traveled area there to the south along federal. a deadly wrong way crash has killed a driver and injured seven people. our howard nathan talked with another driver who watched it happen and nearly got hit himself. >> reporter: there was not much left of this red toyota tacoma after the driver passed george going the wrong way. >> it happened atmore began and >> reporter: he was driving south in the middle lane of parker road when the wrong way driver speeding north in the southbound lane next to the grassy median came close to sideswiping his georgia driver side mirror. >> how close did he come to hitting you? >> two or three inches maybe. >> reporter: that close? >> that close. i could have reached out and touched his car.

tacoma clipped one vehicle and went airborne over two people on a motorcycle and then collided head on with another vehicle. the tacoma caught fire. parker police say they found small bottles of alcohol at the scene. >> the guy was either severely intoxicated that he had no idea what he was doing or he was on some kind of suicide mission. >> reporter: george says he was driving 50 miles per hour. >> he passed me so fast. if i had to he was going about 65 miles per hour. >> reporter: are you feeling lucky the day after? >> well, i definitely feel lucky. a little bit shaken. >> i can imagine. howard nathan reporting there. we could learn the wrong way drivers identity sometime day. republican donald trump says he's setting up for a major speech of immigration this week. still not clear what he wants to

the roadway this morning as people get to work and kids to school. all that volume not causing the slowing we typically see this time of day. police activity going on federal. we have seen a long line of purple along sheridan. that's good news we are seeing traffic flow through there but sheridan and 38th look for police we expect broncos head coach gary kubiak to talk today and we might find out if he's made a decision about a starting quarterback for the broncos season and opening game coming up in 11 days or so. the talk around the nfl is trevor siemian has earned the job. he had a touchdown and interception on saturday night but not sure if that hit the

but led a scoring drive. the one guy who sat on the bench was mark sanchez. he left before speaking with reporters after watching the dwam on the sidelines. -- -- game. >> i have to continue the evacuation process and decide what i think is best for the team. they ask me the question about experience. that's hard for me to answer but i have two of them with no experience. that's the way it is. we got young guys battling and getting better and i got to sit down and decide what i think is best for the group. i feel confident. that's up to him ultimately. it's a better question for him. we'll see what happens. >> obviously i think i could play. i don't think i'm where i'm going to be later on down the road when i have a full grasp of the offense and understand it well but i can play and do what i knead to do for the team.

to limit it tonight on cbs4 news. a suicide bomber killed at least 15 people at a wedding south of baghdad. iraqi officials say four other suicide bombers were involved here. officials say the attackers were members of isis. a suicide car bombing killed at least 45 government troops in yemen staged near two schools in a mosque getting ready to saudi arabia. terror groups expanded in that region. 3 million people have been displaced in that country because of all the unrest. belgium investigators spent the morning coming through an explosion scene that happened at belgium's criminal institute in brussels. a car drove through a security barrier. no one was hurt but there were reports of a bomb outside the building. those apparently were false.

about vaccines. a new study suggests more parents requesting to delay their children's vaccines or refusing to vaccine then all together. the number of parents refusing vaccines jumped to 1% between two # 06 and 2013. some parents consider vaccines unnecessary. fewer parents are expressing concern about a connection to a tim. doctors at arkansas tracked teenager athletes recovering from concussions and found add le sents who continued to play after a concussion took twice as long to recover as those who sat on the sidelines. children who specialize in a single sport at a young age may face a higher risk of injury, stress, and even burn out according to a report in the journal of pediatrics. doctors recommend children play multiple sports waiting until their late high school years to

and 44 in aspen. 63 in boulder, denver and greeley and 61 in burlington. satellite and radar western slope is quiet but we have rain around the denver area and really all the way towards the southwest corner and a few thunderstorms rolling through parts of the eastern plains but as we zoom in, not much for us. it's pretty cloudy outside. not a bad start to the day. once you head south of town lone tree area near castle rock morning and down near colorado springs you can see scattered towards gunnison there are showers this morning. heavy rainfall over an inch in some areas down near colorado springs early this morning. taking a look at futurecast for today, that morning rain is easing up but we're not totally done. some sunshine here in denver and a chance for rain as we head into the afternoon hours and you

up towards the northwestern corner into mesa county and south of denver picking up heavier rainfall. a few storms in denver and a few sprinkles by tomorrow morning and a chance for more rain tomorrow and quick thunderstorms producing smaller hail and heavier rain. you may get brief heavy rainfall from these storms. temperatures today, 82 in denver and greeley. fairly mild over the next couple of days. 72 in eagle and 70 in aspen and 86 in grand junction. for your five dayas low 80s and nice. scattered tomorrows tomorrow and more isolated on wednesday and drier to end the work week with temperatures in the upper 80s. good morning, i want to take you out to live pictures from shawn chitnis at federal and alameda where there is police activity. it did cause some lane closures. shawn saying there's no lane closures right now.

along federal between alameda out to bayad this morning. let me take you across the denver metro area. the trouble spot along sheridan has been cleared. a little issue as you get to the north of 285 there but not causing any issues along 285 itself. southbound c-470 and i-70 nice and wide open. you will like the drive times we have today. still plenty of space between the cars the west in the eastbound direction of i-70 speeds into the 60s and we're seeing eastbound along c-470 as well. an 11-minute drive to get from wadsworth to i-25. a community is mourning two beloved nuns found dead in their home. a suspect has confessed to this terrible crime. hena daniels has the latest this morning. >> reporter: mourners stop by saint thomas church sunday

sisters murdered. >> she helped all the people in the community. >> reporter: the women were nurses who served at a clinic in the poorest county in mississippi. friends say they were inseparable. >> these were people that treated everybody with dignity and that care and compassion. >> reporter: police discovered their bodies after they didn't show up for work last thursday. they were stabbed to death. the murder shocked theht knit community of dur rant we have never had anything like this happen before. >> reporter: police arrested 46-year old rodney sanders over the weekend after he confessed to killing the woman. he had within in trouble before for felony dui and armed robbery. >> this is one of the poorest counties in mississippi. >> reporter: still unclear why he chose these women of faith
