everybody has a story about this, lauren. >> yes, they will. we did talk about yesterday, how if you got a storm it was capable of producing heavy rain and hail. we got that last night. and it was downtown denver. it was quite the storm for us and this morning, it's gone. what we have left is fog. we can see up in our northeast corner in akron and we have thicker fog near greeley and near fort morgan and sterling. we may get a little to filter towards us dia, the north side of town. watch out for the fog this morning. looking at on the number eastern plains, you're getting rain this morning, but the rest of us has dried out. skies are clear. 56 in denver. 57 in boulder and greeley. 57 in burlington. 37 in leadville. 65 in going. today we're look -- today we're looking at low 80s and a chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

heavy rainfall and small hail. let's check with joel, good morning. >> good morning. we need to look across the denver-metro area. we have volume along the roadways southbound along i-25 from our mouse tram cam or the lights are in the southbound direction. we have road work going on along smith and e-470 toward parker road in the northbound direction and trying to get on the ramp from santa fe to evans, you can't do that because alan. edge water, a man with a gun crashes a stolen car and leads police on a chase and with one shoe is still on the run. >> this thing is very involved this morning and officers are haunting for this man. it's happening at 20th and fenon. shawn is live, what can you tell us? >>reporter: britt, we have quite the scene involving two different cars.

let's show you where that ended on the end of lakewood and wheat ridge. this car was in the edgewood area and police heard shots coming from this car and it ran -- it crashed into another car. take a look at this car that's here. it's this red saturn. the impact of the crash sent the car through a fence this neighbor's home and it's sitting as if it was trying to park in this yard. there were three people inside that red saturn. they're okay, and they were actually able to try and grab the driver of the black excursion. they were able to get his red sweat shirt off and his shoe. they got a couple of

to leave. we have a descent description of this man. it's a black man wearing a light colored shirt, red basketball shorts and missing one shoe. he also left his backpack here, so police are hopeful they're going to get more information and details about him, but right now here at this intersection, quite a mess for them to clean up and unfortunately for this homeowner, a lot they have to deal with. 1 car in the yard and one next destroyed. the black excursion is what police believes is a stolen car from wheat ridge and they believe the driver of that car was able to take a hand gun from another car in the wheat ridge area before it came to an end on the edge of lakewood and edge water. we're going to collect details from police and i'll show you more of the evidence we're seeing at this scene right now. live in edge water, shawn chitnis, cbs news. >> do they have theories on

likely to abuse drugs and 22% more likely to smoke. the american heart association reports that younger heart attacks survivors may face a pre-that fewer death from heart disease. according to new research, the risk for heart attack patients is twice as high as the general population, but researchers stress the ritz being of pre-that fewer death after a heart attack has dropped significantly. and new research describe antibiotics if they get feedback on their prescriptions. the study looked at 800 dentist in the uk and those who received a report detailing their prescriptions wrote 5% fewer. can't get enough of this. all the hail at 77th and pecos. walking across the hail was tough going. it looked like big

if you don't get storms, you have heavy cloud cover. looking at the future cast for today, we'll get thunderstorms on the eastern plains through the morning hours and down south into our sandi crystals, lunch time, getting rain and more cloud cover in denver. through the afternoon and evening hours, some thunderstorms around the denver area, again, could produce hail and heavier rainfall and eastern plains could get storms through the afternoon and evening and scatter into our south mountains. overnight, rain possible especially for the eastern plains and fog and more cloud cover. western slope o the dry and clear side. tomorrow, most rain will stay south and west of the denver area and the front range -- 55 towards boulder. 48 in lineman. 57 in burlington. in the mountains, 37 in leadville and 52 in steamboat and 55 in grand junction. looking at temperatures for today, another

to smile when thieves kept stealing his donald trump lawn sign. >> they're trying to shut me up. >> michael put up a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and convection of the thieves. >> i'm choosing trump and stay off my lawn and let me express my opinion. >> this florida real-estate investor didn't appreciate the f trump graffiti on his mailbox outside of he put out 100 rewards sign showing a suspect's photo captured by surveillance cameras. cameras were busy recording people stealing trump signs. usually jumping outs of a car, grabbing signs and jumping back in. jeff rice of west hardford connecticut caught two teens red-handed in his driveway. >> stealing my donald trump signs. >> i know. >> why would you do such a thing?
