a denver business owner fed up with people illegally using her private dumpster. she set up a camera to catch them. she was stunned. >> reporter: >> a lot of people dump >> reporter: kathleen holt has managed this southwest denver business for years. >> we're a marble and granite shop.or outside she would continually find her trash bin overflowing with other people's junk. >> extremely disrespectful. and you know it's not allowed and it's not yours. >> reporter: the trash company wouldn't pick it up when it was overflowing with people's oversized items. so she paid to have it unloaded, the trash cut up and put back in, and extra

company set up this surveillance camera to see who was illegally dumping on their property o. june 19th early morning, the camera records a pickup truck rolling up to the dumpster, the driver hops out and begins unloading an old hot tub cover into the dumpster. look at the back of his shirt. it's a uniformed denver police officer. >> completely taken aback. completely. as i said, our thoughts were are you kidding me? that'she expected to see. >> reporter: he leaves his bulky trash in the business' dumpster, making it their problem and drives away. after the complaint, the dpd getting this tape, sergeant hyatt confessed that was him illegally dumping on tape. he says he knows what he did was wrong. last month according to his disciplinary letter, the police
