low 90s and it's dry. we'll talk about fire danger in a moment. back to you two for now. this is our cbs4 library cam. the taste of colorado going on and road closures remain in place this morning. that includes lincoln and broadway and a portion of colfax. elsewhere across the denver metro area i think you will like the drive. kelly, on these weekends they pick up the cones in the nonlong termon you have a nice drive. evacuation notices are in place ahead of a quickly growing wildfire in larimer county. nearly 30 structures are being threatened. shawn chitnis is live outside the larimer county sheriff's office this morning. what's the latest? >>reporter: this is a quickly growing fire. when we first learned about this around noon on sunday we were told the fire was just a few

larger to 300 acres innize and 10% contained. let's take a look at video of what the scenes were like as smoke was coming out. folks were concerned about this fire and the structures that were threatened because of this fire. some of the information we're getting here from the sheriff's office says the amount of people working to fight this fire is also going to grow. we're told there were between that's estimated to grow to 100 by this morning as we work to contain the fire. several different agencies in the area are going to be teaming up to take care of that. 10% contain soment so they have work out cut for them. we were told yesterday 43 people were notified in the mill creek subdivision about the need to evacuate. we were able to catch up with some folks who lived in a

two away from the fire. here's what they had to say as they were watching it. >> scary. it's people's property and you hate to see a fire on somebody's place. >> reporter: we're waiting for more information from the larimer county sheriff's office as well as other agents involved. we're expecting a briefing later today at 9:00 a.m.. another b in deer trail yesterday afternoon. that fire burned 200 acres and it's now fully contained. no structures were lost but crews tell us some corrals were damaged. no word yet on what sparked the fire. westbound i-70 was closed late into the night thanks to this. crews had to clean up a mess after a semi caught fire. these images are from the lake dylan fire department and they

problem and bursted into flames while moving. one woman is dead after a hit-and-run in aurora in the intersection of mont view and dayton. she was taken to the hospital where she died. officers found a truck nearby and the driver was arrested and facing several charges. now so a story you first saw on four. the search continues for 31-year old jared strange wanted for murder after a woman was found shot to death in an westminster. he should be considered dangerous and a background check more than a dozen pages long shows a history of criminal activity including domestic violence. >> reporter: investigators spent hours combing for evidence at this complex where a woman was found dead inside of the one of the apartments. >> she said she thought she heard a gunshot. >> nikki and his wife live across the street.

building after hearing the shot. >> the next one, we saw fire trucks and ambulance. >> reporter: that was 11:00 on saturday night. westminster police found the woman in her 30s shot to death inside. neighbors say they heard fighting coming from the home earlier. >> they usually argue. i don't know. i guess it got crazy last night. >> reporter: investigators are now searching 31-year old jared streng wanted for second degree murder adding to already a lengthy criminal history involving theft, domestic violence, and drugs. police say he should be considered dangerous. >> karen morfitt reporting. if you have any information call westminster police or crime stoppers. you could earn up to a 2,$000 reward. the latest on a douglas county deputy shot in the line

condition. doctors are seeing promising results in treem and he's responding to stimulus. the department released this picture of detective bright who was shot when officers responded to reports of a suicidal man near parker middle school. that man continued to fire prompting officers to shoot and kill him. as melissa garcia reports the community is rallying behind detective bright and his family. >> we have the greatest people in the world here and show support. >> reporter: support of the owner of a coffee shop. the customers have been lending a hand. wesley heard the devastating news of a douglas county deputy critically injured and knew he had to help. >> it's heartbreaking. it's any community in the world. >> reporter: every dime of every purchase at the coffee cabin next sunday, september 11th will
