a terribly tragic story involving two people killed by different cars at the same accident. one a good samaritan who tried to help the other person on the side of the road. both were hit and killed on 56th near pe?a before sunrise this morning. rick salinger joins us live. >> reporter: we know that this person that we're city and county of denver. he stop here to help and found himself in the middle of a deadly road rage incident. between five sxaim 6:00 pm -- 5:00 am and 6:00 am, the first incident involved two cars involved in a road rage. police say one person got out of his vehicle and banged on the window of the other car. that driver tried to get away and struck the

the car. then a third vehicle stopped to offer help. >> the good samaritan gets out to assist, then our first pedestrian who was struck gets struck one more time plus our good samaritan. >> reporter: the good samaritan was an employee of the denver department of public works. one man described him on facebook as a great man and great friend. police say shooting condi at that time of day may have been a factor. >> we're thinking about the time of day, to build up to the rush hour. but where was the sun? well below the horizon. so it's dark. >> reporter: even with two people dead, charges are unlikely. that was after consulting with the district attorney that that decision was made. the names of the victims are not being released at this

of stealing more than 600 pieces of art from the woman she was supposed to be helping. the artvilled at more than $100,000. detectives recovered all the pieces. 51-year-old sean west stole the work from the artist. he was toscano's in-home caregiver. investigators say they set up an undercover buy and arrested west. >> we did an undercover believe 16 items from the suspect in the case. so we recovered those at that time. >> how the caregiver got caught coming up tonight at 10:00. just minutes away from a super bowl rematch at mile high! a live picture of all the fans filing into the stands tonight. kickoff a little later this hour. we are ready for this game! we've been waiting!

most have already made their way into the stadium. the celebration set to start in just a couple of minutes. this is a super bowl rematch, but the broncos' defense gonna look a little different. just the fourth team in nfl history to win the super bowl and start a different starting quarterback in week 1. denver did it in the 1999 season. history that so many unknowns surround a starting quarterback. trevor siemian has taken just one regular season snap and gone from 7th round draft pick to starting q.b. for the defending champs. as you might imagine, trevor admitted he's gonna have some but thor flies on the field tonight. >> yeah, just a lot of confidence in the guys in the huddle. and they've helped me

wells fargo has fired honor 5,000 employees for creating over two million phony accounts. the government says the employees did it to satisfy sales goals. wells fargo will now pay $185 in fines for opening two million credit card and sdpft accounts that customers deposit accounts that customers didn't know about. the employees drained real accounts and charged fees for serves custer wells fargo did it in order to receive bonuses and meet sales targets. wells fargo says it regrets it and has taken responsibility for its actions. a colorado-built spacecraft is on the first leg of a 7-year long journey to rendezvous with an asteroid temperature launched about an hour ago from cape canaveral. the first of its kind mission aims to collect rock samples from the asteroid and
