you guys. >> absolutely. just the last game they played, besides the preseason. we knew that they don't change too much. it was great going out there, just playing them again, and just trying to put on the same show we did in the super bowl. >> obviously, that 1st half, there were struggles not defending the run. what was different? and what did they do to you guys that maybe shocked you a little bit. >> they didn't it was just ourselves being ourselves. just getting off the field on 3rd down. so the 2nd half, i thought we came out and locked in, and made those plays to get off the field. >> one of the things that's going on right now, and a lot of people are talking about the helmet to helmet hits on cam newton. you had one. you're going to get fined. that's the world we live in right now. what do you say to the people

>> there's nothing dirty about us. we're just a physical defense. aggressive defense. that's part of our identity. you know, as a defensive player, man, you just, you try to be as physical as possible at all times. that's just part of this game. >> do you worry about reputation as a defense with people talking about dirty defense, and then do you worry about, on top of that, maybe tighter to where you guys aren't allowed the freedom to maybe play with the same aggressiveness? >> i'm not worried about it. i think we're still going to be us, and keep being aggressive. i don't think we should change anything that we've been doing. that's what has us defending world champs. i think we've just got to keep going. >> i know you kind of like that moniker. i heard you on the radio this morning, i want you to comment

man. we had height from our d linemen. >> you get a 5-yard penalty, that gives them a free first down. how do you get your mind back after that? >> onto the next play. you have amnesia. that's one thing about playing in the secondary. one bad play can't hurt you. just line up and play the next one. >> being a national broadcaster, i had it to listen for months about how simian was a huge mistake. obviously, came exceptionally well. there was two turnovers. one not really his fault. one a bad throw. but going into this game, what did you think of simian going in, and did that opinion change at all going out? >> no, we was rocking with simian as soon as he named him the starter. we trust simian. he's a great leader, and he worked for this. for the opportunity he has.
6:41 pm
learn from him. >> take me inside that. his leadership, because when we see him as fans, we see milk toast. we see a guy that doesn't say anything. what's different between what we see, and what you guys see in the locker room. >> that's just his demeanor. trevor is a smooth guy. he's always cool. t cool. he's a real good guy. just laid back type of guy. >> of course, one big or on with the national anthem. brandon marshall chose to kneel. what does the team say to him? is that a distraction at all? >> no, i don't think it's a distraction. right there, he's exercising his first amendment right, you know, and just standing up for something he believes in. >> we had a chance to talk to brandon today. and we will be talking to
