near wilson burg and near san bu weez and snow south of silver cliff this morning. 40 in leadville and 63 in grand junction and looking at our hour by hour forecast, fairly mild and we get warmer and jump back to the upper 70s with a chance of afternoon and evening moment. this morning no crashes on the highway. look at the volume we have at 4:30 this morning. a lot of cars on the roadways. here we are across the denver metro area. a couple closures like mississippi as you get to the east of santa fe closed to broadway for this week as they continue to do road work there. it's south of i-25. i would just avoid that.

family friend tells us her friend was taken into custody by police. officers were called to a home around 5:15 yesterday even and found a woman dead. an autopsy is set for today and police will not release anymore information until after that is complete. the family friend says the man is a pastor at the scammers taking advantage of community support for a badly injured deputy. dan bright was shot in the chest by a suicidal man. scammers are using his name to steal money now. >> reporter: residents in douglas county are not holding back disgust after the latest phone scam. detective dan bright was taken to the hospital in critical

suicidal man in parker. the community has united to honor the officer as he recovers and now scammers are praying on that good will. scammers try to soly sit money with a bogus man they scam this mon who tried to protect and serve. >> reporter: at least six people have reported calls in the last four days in douglas county. some have donated hundreds of dollars. the sheriff's office will n ask for me over the phone. the call comes from overseas and the callers are professionals. >> there's aggressive techniques that will be utilized. >> hair stylist has her hair and nails painted blue. she's? contact with his wife and has a real fund set up in his name. >> you can see hour town is hurting from this. >> she's asking all metro area

imposters who try to capitalize on the name of a brave detective. >> these people are giving from their hearts and in term they're giving to a jerk trying to take their money. >> detective bright is showing progress we understand. we're keeping track. the deadly bus crash involving the legacy high school football team. the coach was released last night. two other coaches suffered serious injuries in this cash at dia on sunday. the bus driver carrie chopper died. police still investigating by the bus crash. the homecoming game will still

an affidavit we have seen said the notes complimented the girl's looks and to call them. instead they reported the 21 year old to authorities. one of the girls said he texted her nude photos of himself. >> we don't know how widespread this is. we're asking parents to talk to the girls or king carol and see if there's something they haven't come forward with yet to tell authorities. >> a misdemeanor shoplifting clarj is one other charge he had a couple years ago. the shooting death of a lakewood police officer -- his wife has collected 3.500-0000 from the city. the department cleared the

his wife filed a federal lawsuit claiming his death was preventable and the lakewood city council approved the settlement rather than taking it to trial. a settlement related to the aurora shooting means the victims won't have to shell out thousands of dollars. after their lawsuit the theater to drop the request for damages after agreeing not to appeal the verdict. this is good news to start the day. jill wagner is live on the floor at the new york stock exchange. good wednesday morning. >> reporter: good morning, investigators can't figure out which way to go with the markets. yesterday the dow fell 250 points and yesterday the nasdaq dropped 56.

open today. it's pretty confusing here -- a problem for apple. the new ios ten update ran into a big glitch. they complained the updates froze their phone. the problem only affected a small number of users. do you ever find it impossible to buy a hot concert ticket? congress is cracking down on brockers who use software to scoop up the resail prices. a bill that would ban the robot ticket software is going to the senate. zoom pizza is using intelligent machines to make pizza. they will soon be able to add cheese and toppings.

>> we have a couple things in common. both our mothers played a significant role of us growing up even though it's different parts of the country. he was talking about our past. >> reporter: today marshall with his mom addressed a safety meeting for moms and e was greeted with a warm reception. marshall said he will take a knee again. chief white just hopes the protests comes with action. >> it's good to give money but young people about making good decisions and not putting themselves in harms way. we're going to give him a list of things he can do working in partnership with our police department. >> chief white also invited marshall on a ride along with police and offered to let him into the 300 thousand dollars simulator dpd has built. he's expected to talk today

a couple pops. expect wind and moderate rainfall and hail in there as well. overnight there's showers rolling on through and tomorrow morning could have more fog on the eastern plains and tomorrow a chance of isolated storms, most of those out east but there's a potential of getting a couple here in denver as well. 47 in thorng. 50 in boulder. 52 in burlington and in the mountains 42 in leadville and 63 in grand junction. later today 78 degrees. 79 in greeley and 72 in the mountains and 65 in frisco and aspen. so it's cool in the mountains today. might be nice if you have the day off you can head up there and check it out. chance of storms around 2:00 and it clears in the evening hours. fairly moderate isolated storms and a chance of storms pretty much every day through saturday. let's check in with joel. it's already starting to

$25 billion a year, double the size of state government and give colorado the highest income taxes in the country. >> that's all true. it creates colorado care, a healthcare payment system confined to colorado. it would replace private insurance, obama care and most government programs. for everyone who has lived in the state for a year. medicare would remain for those over age 65. it would be income type estimating $21 billion a year which is nearly double the size of the state bublth and make colorado's income tax highest in the country. but here's what you need to know. an analysis finds the elimination of insurance premiums and deductibles would offset new taxes. while the tax increase is double the size of government, it

plain. >> all to replace your doctor decisions with a state program run by politicians. >> not exactly. they are ran by an elected board which controls it's selections instead of the secretary of state. like insurance companies they will decide co-payments and what's covered and how much providers are reimbursed. there's no gnm from tay boar meaning re knew in excess of constitutional limits does not have to be refunded but voters have to approve an additional tax increase, an election run by the board. >> what could possibly go wrong with that? >>reporter: the group behind this add is funded by insurers and providers have a lot to lose. the increase taxes would kick in next year but colorado care could take years to set up.

if it fails. many insurers and providers may leave the state in the meantime but we also have a lot to gain. colorado care replaces an insurance industry largely run by out of state nonprofit boards without transparency and in colorado care everyone including thousands of coloradans undersured or overinsured. i'm shaun boyd, that's check. this weekend the cu buffs will play their biggest game. yesterday the buff decided to make their depth chart up. he's a south park character.
