driver should prepare for another day of slow going. there are more lane closures on sixth avenue and i 70 is not spared. cdot is working to repair the bridge but drivers are affected. let's go out like to shawn chitnis who is watching the area. >> reporter: good morning. we can see that crews are in place to make those emergency repairs. you can see that bridge and that is where this all happen. more crews are arriving to put in place force folks into less lanes or even one lane and that is what we saw yesterday. this video from the afternoon, we can see how bad it got because folks were not ready for this or preparing for quite such a delay that we saw yesterday. we will see if that will be the case again today. why this is happening, over the weekend there was a semi carrying construction equipment

caused a piece of the bridge to come off. emergency repairs are needed. cdot says this needs to happen during the day because of the materials they are using as well as because of safety concerns and that is why for the second day we will see this happening. starting around 4 am, until 7 pm. cdot wanting to remind drivers of the importance to make sure you can make the clearance when we are dealing with these bridges and in this 15'3". we will continue to be here and keep an eye on delays as they start to form this morning. shawn chitnis, cbs4. new this morning, united airlines flight on its way to san diego was diverted to dia for a possible security scare. the plane is on the ground safely in san diego. flight 1243 was headed from

looked suspicious. the pilot landed at dia and got took this photo aspassengers got off and got on buses. police did not find anything on the plane. passengers loaded back onto the plane to continue and they were off the plane for 2 1/2 hours. vice president joe biden will be in denver today. he will be the guest at the korbel dinner at the university of denver. the vice president will speak at the event which honors joseph korbel, the first dean and founder of the school of international studies. we do weather and traffic every 10 minutes. let's look at the fog. thicker fog on the eastern plains down to have a mild visibility from akron and wray and fog in burlington. radar for the most part is quiet and overnight storms starting to clear and we're looking with a few more later on today.

temperatures to the. a cold front working through the western side of the state. there are significantly cooler temperatures to start the day. 16 cooler in grand junction, 8 for meeker and craig. across the front range, not so much in terms of changes for us. we are warmer in denver. 52 denver, 46 really. western side of the state, a little chilly. 39 steamboat, 33 leadville. and 48 in grand junction. visibility, we have a foggy start to the day on the eastern plains for the northeastern corner of the state. down to a half-mile visibility from akron to ray and burlington. other than that it is quiet. we've had rain rolled through and we had snow overnight near aspen. the rest of us will be dry for most of the day. looking at a future cast. morning hours are mellow. we may start to get showers and thunderstorms by lunchtime

under flash flood warnings a tropical depression julia is dumping rain and leaving behind a lot of damage. here is hannah daniels. with winds of 35 miles per hour julia is a tropical depression and will turn off the coast of georgia and south carolina for the next few days. flooding is already a problem in the charleston area and the national weather service says 5 inches of rain has fallen.>> one of the worst things for people is surge. that is bad. it creates a lot of damage. the wind, you can sometimes survive. in saint simons island, cleanup crews worked to remove massive trees that fell on power lines. julia brought out the servers during high tide.>> small stuff, you notice. >> tropical storm stunned meteorologists and they formed
