aqib khalib with the pick six and a very good effort from the denver defense. >> reporter: we knew coming in putting pressure on andrew luck would be big. they sacked luck just one time before. they said they need to get to him more and they did that and it paid big, big dividends. trevor siemian wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but he did enough to get the broncos another victory and improve to 2-0. >> reporter: this was only his second career drive in the 4th quarter. he made big throws as they were trying to milk the clock. still some mistakes. he handled the offense well. he led the offense down the field. the broncos moved the ball. so another good effort from a young quarterback. >> reporter: and the drive prior to that, the broncos had 13 plays when they went down the field. indianapolis had a long drive to start the second half. trevor lead the team down.

but this team came away with a 14 point win. you and i both know they left a lot out on the field and it started on the opening possession with brandon mcmanus' missed forecast. you don't want to nitpick a 2-0 team too much. i am going to nitpick a 2-0 team a little bit. they had four times as many yards and four times as many first downs in the first half and they only led 13-7, i believe. they had a missed field goal. they had a turnover. they need to turn the drives into points and put games like they are good at winning close games. they are good at creating close games that don't need to be close. >> reporter: on that interception that siemian threw, it was a bad pass. had butler not come up lame on the hamstring that was six points. the bottom line is the broncos get a win. let's take a look at tonight's poll question. how do you feel about the broncos 2-0 start? relieved? thrilled, maybe still a work in progress? probably a little bit of all of

the community's help to bury the mother of five. she was shot here two weeks ago inside of her apartment where she lived with the suspect. he has been caught, but that leaves little closure for her loved ones. >> i didn't really realize how much i loved her until she's gone. >> reporter: carlos is devastated at the loss of his ex-wife. roxanne, a mother of five, died when she was shot in the neck in her westminster apartment days before now his son will grow up without his mother. >> he was devastated. she was really active in helping me raise this child all the time. not having that no more, it's really heartbreaking to me. >> reporter: police arrested the suspect last week on unrelated warrants. 31-year-old jared michael strange is under investigation for second degree homicide. he has not been charged. >> i am completely disgusted.
