springs. it is 37 in mudville and 62 in grand junction. we are looking at the mid to upper 80s today. there will be a lot more cloud cover and we will check more about that. right now we have joe hillman tracking the drive. here is i-70 and airport boulevard. both directions along i-70 nice and open. we have a two issue on 23rd and quitman with a water main break but it is not causing them delays. we have had some folks say the drive has been brought coming out of highlands ranch where the construction continues this morning and one lane. fire officials are working to determine what caused this fire at the reserve at hunters

cruiser monitoring the complex with seven people suffering minor injuries. fire crews say it started on the southwest corner of the complex. they had to immediately take a defensive stance as the flames began to grow. witnesses say it was putting off massive heat. >> opinion the structure. all units, abandon the no one in the building. i was just thinking about my kids. i always thought if there was a fire, i would run in and get my kid. but it amuses too hot. -- it was just too hot. >> flames from the bottom to the top floor. everyone in the complex has been accounted for and all of the people hurt in the fire are expected to recover.

now opened a civil rights investigation into the shooting of an unarmed black man in tulsa, oklahoma. dashcam video from a police car shows him walking toward 40- year-old terrance crutcher as he has his hands by his suv. this was a response to a stalled vehicle on the call on friday. they say he was hit with a taser and his family is now seeking justice. >> we asked for answers, and we clearly got it through the video. and we are truly devastated. >> the justice department will decide if the office will be facing in a criminal charges. authorities are still trying to figure out what motivated a naturalized u.s.

carry out a series of weekend bombings in new york and new jersey for what is believed to be the first time. there was electronic wanted poster leading to the arrest of ahmad khan rahami who is now being held on a $5 million bail after a shootout with police. that is when they were able to bring him into custody. here is hena daniels with the latest. >> reporter: ahmad khan rahami is in custody this morning facing five is in custody this morning facing 5 pounds of attempted murder. president obama, who was in new york for the u.n. general assembly, praise the officers who risked their lives to take them down. >> it is one more reminder of the skill and sacrifice and courage of our law enforcement officers. >> reporter: authorities say they have directly linked and rahami to the to 2 the

knew this morning, trying something i made our spiraling home and rental prices the denver city council has approved the creation of the first affordable housing fund. cbs4's shawn chitnis is live. >> reporter: good morning. we certainly learned a lot about the situation in denver earlier this year when fastest growing city in the country. the need for affordable housing is a challenge that is only getting tougher. that is why the city council want to prove this new program to try and take on the problem -- approve this new program to try and take on the problem. over 10 years it will bring in

this is the news in health with an update on antibiotic use in hospitals. doctors are not prescribing fewer antibiotics to patients despite a push to bring in that type of use and avoid deeper bacteria. researchers reviewed files from 34 million patients and found antibiotic use did not change significantly and prescriptions actually increased for powerful antibiotics used as a last resort. the fda granted accelerated approval to the first drug or muscular dystrophy. the medication treats patients with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. the cdc has listed the band for pregnant women to visit in miami

it is time now for a check of weather and traffic on this tuesday morning starting with lauren. >> we are off to a great start and our temperatures are not too bad start off with 52 in greeley and 55 in wray. 52 in steamboat and 59 and craig. satellite and radar you will notice there are more clouds this morning and not necessarily in it will be a little but cloudier this morning with a little rain in the southwestern part of the state. we have seen moisture from the tropical storm making landfall and parts of the baja area. you can see all of the moisture into parts of arizona. we are going to see some moisture mainly in the southwestern part of the state. taking a look at futurecast, you will notice it is a but

warm and by lunchtime there may be a little more rain in the southwestern corner. those clouds continue through the day today. it may be a little cloudy with some sunshine mixed in too. some of this could pop up into parts of the foothills in denver. most of it will say to the southwest and the high country. with some areas into the 90s. 88 for denver and 90 in greeley. 92 in burlington the close to the triple digits in the southern part of the state with 76 in eagle and 76 in aspen and 86 in grand junction. it might feel a little humid at times today but not too bad with the mid to upper 80s and a

still fairly dry even though we have the moisture streaming in our direction. we have an area of low pressure coming into the great basin that will cool us off with the chance of a rain to ended the week. 88 degrees and this weekend we may only be in the 60s. >> september in colorado is amazing. this is i-70 and airport boulevard this morning. metro area we still some road work going on on mississippi to the east of santa fe out to broadway. that is due to ongoing roadwork they have been doing to that intersection. we will have new closures in the westbound direction as you try to access the santa fe. we have a water main break that has happened near 23rd from denver into lakewood.

projects making a mess of things. here are some of the drive times as you come from the west. a little girl in oklahoma city has a new dog. the puppy has something in common with her, and they both are ecstatic. avery mitchell lives in oklahoma city and recently got a new prosthetic leg. she was born caused her like to break and never heal. recently she got a new puppy and the one year old was abused and is also missing a leg. now the dog also has a new prosthetic leg. the two are very happy together. >> sometimes people to stare and stuff. it gives her a companion.

developments. >> reporter: the mother has since passed away from cancer. it was later revealed in 1999 when a grand jury voted to charge the parents but the district attorney alex hunter declined to prosecute feeling it could not be proven. both parents were cleared by a later district attorney but garnet says that means little. >> the exoneration letter is real consequence. >> the family was cleared because dna found in connection with the murder was not theirs. police have taken back the investigation from the dea with two detectives assigned part- time. >> this is an open investigation . >> they are assigned to this case. >> the if examined 1500 pieces

the average age of a homeless person is 9 years old. my dream is to help kids living on the streets with education. charles what's up man? -whoa! how can we help? -ah man! wait, is that a basketball player? yes! -wow! my heart's about to jump out my chest man. charles you ought to be proud man. i'm just extremely grateful they were here giving them some encouragement- that's something that these kids are going to remember for a lifetime.
