car. the others did not like that idea. but it came as a surprise, the suspect out of the blue struck her in the head. >> reporter: collins from arvada has a previous record in colorado. he fled the scene and hitchhiked up the canyon. his teenaged friends ran to a neighbor's house to get help. donna says the attack has shaken her community. >> just the tragedy of someone being repaid by kindness this way. and how everyone is affected because we're close-knit >> reporter: the sheriff's office says collins should be considered dangerous. donna says she and her neighbors will keep their doors locked until he's found. >> i'd like to see the book thrown at him. >> reporter: seebsz four has learned that after the attack, colince went home, went to school, and talked to his probation officer as if nothing happened. she considered dangerous. if you have any information, call the boulder county sheriff's office. much more on this developing story

a story first reported at noon. dramatic video of a shooting witnessed by children. that shooting was a year ago at 35th and downing in denver. the man in the white t-shirt is dedric mayfield. another man in a sleeveless shirt walks up and fires at rival gang members. all this as two children were standing near the red car in the center of t another camera picks up the violence. they run to their car as shots rang out. mayfield's friend is shot and would later die. mayfield returns fire. another gang member also died. mayfield has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison. video showing firefighters putting out a fire that threatened homes in parker. copter 4 over the scene for you. the 3-acre fire burned near inspiration drive and antelope trail. still don't know what started it.

car. >> reporter: police sate accident happened along this road near the opening of carter lake. the cyclist, 43-year-old jason holden died on the scene, and now colorado state patrol is investigating. psyche lifts who ride near carter lake say this area is beautiful but dangerous. >> a 12-inch shoulder doesn't allow us much room to stay on the side of the road. 03 to ride that white line or just to the left of the line >> reporter: csp nee small suv and its driver who hit a cyclist on this road tuesday. as a driver passed and bumped the cyclist, troopers believe 43-year-old jason holden fell off his bike. bolden tumbled into the westbound lane and was hit by a second driver in a truck. that driver, robert condy, did the right thing and stayed on-scene. his family says he is devastated by the accident. that second driver we're told has not been charged

jennifer brice, cbs4 news. a deadly shooting by westminster police officers. four sense still on the run. the trouble started when a homeowner reported five people trying to steal from his garage yesterday. thieves punched the homeowner and pointed a gun at him. one left on a motorcycle last night protestors burned cars, shut down an interstate after officers shot and killed keith scott. the police chief says officers were looking for the subject of a warrant when they saw scott had a weapon. a witness though is telling a different story. >> he got out, walked behind his truck with his hands up, and the man shot him four times.

reading. >> police say they found a handgun. and a federal rights investigation in that shooting in tulsa, oklahoma last week. police responded to reports of a stalled car. a vile of pcp was found inside the vehicle but it's not clear what prompted officer betty shelby to draw her weapon and shoot and kill the driver, terrance crutcher. now crutcher's family is calling for authorities to file charges. new details as a trial begins for a man accused in the death of a colorado state patrol cadet. the first degree murder and the death of t thaifault. >> the majority of the courtroom this morning filled with colorado state patrol, and family and friends supporting taylor. we ran into the family as they entered the courtroom
