[ laughter ] happening now, there are more protests in charlotte, north carolina, tonight, following the deadly police shooting of a black man. you ca the streets. police are out in full riot gear just in case those protests turn violent for the second night in a row. john champion is live in charlotte, and the mayor is urging everyone to stay calm. >> reporter: good evening, and so far protests here have remained paechl over my shoulder. you can -- peaceful. you can see hundreds taking part in a candle light vigil at this hour. and just a moment ago,

downtown. meantime, duelling narratives of what led up to the death of keith scott are emerging he were as his family demands answers >> reporter: that 43-year-old scott died after being shot by police in this charlotte park lot tuesday is not being disputed. but a witness is casting doubt on the official police story about who shot him and why. the police chief says officers looking for the subject of a warrant noticed psychological with a weapon. >> -- sco >> mr. scott as i said exited his vehicle armed with a handgun. as the officers continued to yell at him to drop it. he stepped out, posing a threat to the officers. and vincent fired his weapon >> reporter: officer vincent, an african american, was placed on administrative leave. williams says she witnessed the

but her story is different from what police say happened, including the race of the police officer. >> the white cop with the bald head, pulled up behind that van, blocked him in, telling him to get out with his hands up he want got up, walked behind his truck with his hands up, and the man shot him four times. when he got out the car, a book fell off his back, the book he was recovering >> reporter: police say no book was reced a handgun was. discrepancies are only adding to the tension here. last night protestors clashed with police throwing rocks and bottles and damaging patrol cars. today both sides are calming for calm -- calling for calm. >> reporter: a little over an hour ago, the wife of scott released a statement saying while her family still has many unanswered questions about her husband's death, she did want

peaceful tonight. at last check, the police chief said he did not intend on releasing any body or dashcam ravideo of the shooting yesterday. >> thank you for your live report, don the f.b.i. wants to talk to two men in connection with a recent new york city bombing. >> they were seen removing a bomb from a suitcase and leaving it behind and walking away with the luggage. the f.b.i. released this image of those they are considered witnesses, not suspects. the bomb inside the suitcase was one of three planted by ahmad rahami. one went off in chelsea injuring 31. the pipeline in alabama that led to a gas shortage across the south back running. repair crews were able to restart line about an hour ago. it could take a few days before

normal. officials estimate as many as 300,000 gallons of gas leaked from that line. an 11-year-old girl who took a knife to school told officers she needed the weapon to fight off clowns. this comes after a rash of creepy clown hoaxes on social media in that state. she said she needed the knife to protect her family because she heard about clowns jumping out of the woods and attacking children. police released the girl to her mom on a charge of having a weapon on school grounds. more than 19,000 students 51st schools. >> why police in one prince in canada say the massive evacuations were necessary. >> showers drying out to the north, still out to the south. we're watching a cold front to the north. that's gonna bring the temperature down, not the 90s, not the 80s, not the 70s, maybe not even the 60s by

this is the news from around the world. the air raids happened last night in the city of aleppo. the syrian government has been on a nonstop attack on the rebels in that city. the syrian government and rebel groups blame the other side for violating the cease-fire. a bomb threat starts a massive evacuation in canada's prince edward island today. close to 19,000 kids were evacuated from 63 schools after fax saying bombs had been planted in some schools. police immediately evacuated those schools. no bombs were found, and no arrests made. a security slip-up giving a new glimpse into korean internet service. north korean residents have access to only 28 sites total. an american software company was able to peek into
