>> some residents stepped in to help maintain calm. >> demonstrators circled downtown charlotte for hours. >> others staged a die-in on the steps of the county courthouse will national guards men feet away. >> there was a lot more positive people out here and a lot of groups were involved making a statement peacefully. >> reporter: the rel at thisly peaceful tone of the evening here in uptown charlotte followed two straight the death of keith scott. hundreds of extra state patrol officers and national guards men with heavy equipment helped maintain order. protests are demanding officials release video of the deadly police encounter that claimed his life. scott's relatives privately viewed dash cam video of his killing thursday and couldn't tell whether he was holding a weapon as police claimed.

into custody yesterday evening and likely facing a judge this morning. police say the crimes were committed using a air soft or pellet gun shooting eight cars in longmont. others shot in airy and lafayette. the suspects used a blue toyota stolen out of denver. it's the one people were shooting from as reported. then one of the suspects also stole a mini van that was pursuit was called off because it was too dangerous. someone called police after saying the mini van was in a parking lot in lafayette about 8:30 last night. the three suspects were not in the car so police put stop sticks down in the parking lot which flattened the tires of the van as the suspects drove away. they continued driving getting as far as baseline and north finch and then they ran. police were able to capture all

windy in the mountains and eastern plains today. in fact, this morning breezy down here in douglas county from castle rock into parker gusts have been popping up to near 20 miles per hour. look at wolf pass. a big rush of wind moving through this afternoon. for that reason a red flag warning noon through 8:00 p.m. today from denver and limon down to trinidad for this afternoon. not too bad but it will be beefing up. thunderstorms moving across the eastern colorado plains last night. this morning there's a little bit of cloud cover in telluride. on the big picture, a real strong closed low is developing around salt lake city here scooting in over northern colorado and up into wyoming bringing in a cold front later tonight and dramatically changing temperatures tomorrow. as it comes through today rain and snow developing in the mountains at 1:00 this afternoon.

helmet stolen from a denver broncos player and two months later it's back at dub value. it was taken from an unnamed player during an autograph session in training camp. this man was caught on camera stealing the combiment equipment he hid the helmet in a stroller as he left the facility. more than 20 tip administers calling crime stoppers say they knew who the suspect was. he was not ri was surprised the helmet hasn't been sold for more than it's original value. he's now charged with third degree theft. the broncos get to play an early game on sunday as they travel to cincinnati where things are tough and noisy. romi is here with a preview. >> good to see you allen. alan.
