new information on breaking news we brought you at 5:00 last night. the suspects arrested after a crime spree in three northern colorado cities appear in court. they are accused of stealing vehicles and shooting out the windows of cars driving past them. the boulder county jail with their update. >> reporter: transients matthew leon and manuel rodello appeared before a judge as their bonds they face motor vehicle theft, endangerment, and is reckless driving. >> reporter: two of the three suspects ery police believe are responsible for a crime spree noird court friday afternoon. both transients, and a 16-year-old girl, are accused of shooting out cars, stealing

all vehicles were occupied, bruno one was hurt. an update on the 16-year-old hitchhiker accused of brutally attacking a woman who had given him a ride. he is facing charges including attempt murder and assault. the district attorney will decide if collins will be charged as an adult. police say he attacke fire poker inside her home in left-hand canyon. she had driven him and two of his pal there is to wait for a ride. she remains in critical condition. new developments tonight in the deadly shooting that killed a doctor in centennial. doctor ken atkinson died after she was shot trying to help a neighbor. investigators say she had been shot and wounded by her husband. his name is kevin lyons. and we learned today prosecutors are considering pursuing the death

dave sanders for saving his life. dave sanders, one of 13 people killed by two gunmen at columbine in 1999. now that survivor is a high school teacher and coach himself. jennifer brice is live at clement park and he wants his team to join in honoring dave sanders' memory. >> reporter: and this really is such a neat story and inspirational. a memorial here is being held in honor of dave sanders, the coach and teacher killed in the columbine attack. people are out here getting ready to run in the races, or they have run in the races. this year we caught up with kyle nickel son who is a survivor of columbine, and he brought his kids to run in the event and to see the memorial out here at clement park. this was a special moment for him and his students. an opportunity for them to see a

and honor the man who saved his life. nickel son credits sanders for saving his life on that day and other students that were told by sanders to leave the cafeteria and get out of the school. he also went on to become a teacher and coach and thinks about sanders every day. >> i can't not. every day i'm so grateful to be alive and work at such a great school with great kids. >> repor 10:00, you're gonna hear from some of his students running in that cross-country race right now. and about how just coming here and seeing this memorial has impacted their life in ways that you really don't get to have happen very often. the family of a man shot by police in charlotte releases video of the killing. what it shows and why police say this is not telling the entire story.

early-morning airstrike. her condition is unknown. her parents and four siblings did die. deputies in jefferson county are investigating an unusual hit and run. it happened on a hiking trail lair of the bear park just west of red rocks. the driver was driving a bicycle in this case. >> reporter: the new scenery welcomed hikers and cyclists along this popular trail in jeer signs warning of discourtious mountain bikers in the area. >> we experience this a lot, and it's sad when one guy makes the rest of us look bad. >> reporter: the signs were put in place following a serious hit and run crash on the trail at lair of the bear. an 81-year-old hiker was hit by a cyclist who suffered fractureded cuts and. >> that's horrible. even if you

>> reporter: the decision by the cyclist not to stay and help may have come as a surprise to many of those who frequent the trail. but the incident itself and the man's failure to follow trail rules wasn't unheard of. >> we've seen this before on this trail with people acting badly. >> some people give you a heads up they're behind you. and some people are a little bit rude. they don't like to share the trail. [ laughter ] >> reporter: the jefferson county sheriff's office is asking for help tracking that cyclist down. he is a white man in his 20s or lots of sunshine on the eastern plains. still in the mid-80s in downtown denver. look where the snow is! from vail to boulder county and into larimer county, that's how close, and that's how close the cold air is as well. big old low pressure system with its counterclockwise flow. and they're see something snow.

i 2011 the last time the bengals lost a home game in september. it's a random stat. gary kubiak share today with the team during a meeting. he likes to set the stage each week of what they're up against. this team has been very successful network position every year. put them in a big game late last year. and even though this is an early game, i'm sure it'll count for a lot down the road. a new era of avs hockey underway today. first training camp practice with new head coach jared bednar. avs' first preseason game is tuesday.
