check out the pictures of the new snow that fell at loveland ski area. resort officials hope to make snow sometime in the next week. and check out the snow action at silverton. this week storm system dropped enough snow for ski patrollers if it stays at this pace silverton says they could open earlier than normal. meanwhile trail ridge road closed because of you can see this from rocky mountain national park. the road was closed at milner pass. it hasn't officially closed for the season yet. dave has more, good morning. >> happy sunday. i will tell you what, we got a great looking day. take a look at our temperatures. not as cold as yesterday morning. 44 in city park and this morning 48 in arvarda.

macke auditory. he put his arm around her and she fought him off. a black man about 6 feet tall with a beard and mustache. >> new this morning. more troubles for frontier airlines. we got these pictures from a passenger that says his flight to orlando was delayed for more than 6 hours. he says the mess started with the original flight from portland when it was delayed an entire day. that orlando flight is the only delayed departure out of dia. issues with its scheduling system forcing passengers to wait. >> to the developing story out of washington state. police have arrested the man accused of going on a shooting rampage inside a macy's killing five people. arcan cetin was unarmed and zombie like. he immigrated from turkey but a permanent resident of the u.s.

state mall. investigators say that the 20- year-old arcan cetin was apprehended 30 miles from the scene. >> i saw an individual walking northbound on the sidewalk and i instantly recognized that was the person i just viewed on my computer. i did an abrupt u-turn and hit my lights and pull my gun and myself and deputy graball the individual into custody. >> at the macy's four shots fired. >> four women shot dead in the makeup area at macy's and a man died. shoppers fled and hid in changing rooms. >> it wasn't all at once it was like a shot and two seconds later another shot. >> police say surveillance video shows the alleged shooter

ranges from a teenager to citizens. >> we suffered a devastating loss of five treasured members of our community. who had done nothing more than what we all have done on any given day. >> the f.b.i. helped in the search for the suspect. the suspect is expected in court tomorrow morning. the identities of the victims have not been released. >> the latest on the murder of a 16-year-old girl in thornton. her mother is pleading with the community daughter's killer. haley vargas was killed more than a week ago at a party. >> somebody is out there and knowing something and saw something. whoever's mother that is, they know. if you had to bury your child, you know you would understand the pain i'm going through.

no matter should have to bury their kid. >> jamie leary, cbs4 news. the suspect is described as hispanic man in his late teens or early 20s and dark hair and nose ring and glasses. police are searching for an older model black suv and a red four-door sedan from the 90s. haley's family has a go fund me page to help with funeral costs. colorado's law enforcement says this man has been found and they say he is safe and his family has been notified. he left his wife at a gas station yesterday. the man does suffer from dementia. >> still no sign of a missing hiker near the maroon bells. 49-year-old david cook of new mexico never returned from his hike. he is a former marine and expert mountaineer.

ever green fire crews say a fire burned four acres. crews got a got a hold of it yesterday morning. we are one day away from the first presidential between donald trump and hillary clinton. we do have a live look from the debate stage at hofstra university. we hope to bring that to you later. but jill wagner has more on at ahead of the faceoff. hillary clinton picked up a major endorsement from the new york times saturday. the newspaper's editorial board says hillary clinton is one of the most tenacious candidates and donald trump promises the moon. ted cruz is endorsing the

little cloud cover. we will be partly cloudy to start it off. yesterday morning it was cool out in parker. we had temperatures in the upper 30s to kick things up. i want to thank everybody that came out for the tour. i made new friends including a gorilla and antenna. i don't know if it was her or him. i don't know. but we had a great time. current temperatures now, 34 in meeker and 30 in gunnison and leadville at 27 and we have 50 in greeley and warmer up there. on the satellite we had a few clouds drifting by and the snow has come to an end. some areas of haze out across the eastern plains and fog and not thick but a few areas there.

in the big picture. the big storm that blew through. the main energy is up to north dakota now and look at this cold front leading down to texas. it will have flooding problems. we may see more problems like the big bend and the dallas area. we have a dip in the jet stream that will keep colder air in place. it will slide warmer temperatures. today though a clean slate for you across the state. mostly clear skies with a few passing clouds. highs in the high country, we will be in the 60s and 50s there with 60s and 70s down low both east and west. the temperature today should make it to about 68 in denver and mostly sunny skies and 42 and the warmer trend with 75 to start and low 80s on tuesday and wednesday with sunshine again and then by the time we get to 30 we have a slight

news. welcome back. this is 7:30 on sunday september 25th. taking a live look at the empty seats over at mile high but certainly a lot of full hearts ready for the broncos game today. and as they face off in cincinnati. that game is happening right here on cbs in three-and-a-half hours. dave is in colorado's weather center and it will be hot. >> yes, 84 degrees and mostly sunny. they that blew through. tomorrow their temperature will drop down in the 70s. perfect timing. if they like it hot. i don't know. temperatures this morning kind of cool but thought as cold as yesterday. 47 in arvarda and 45 in green wood village and 39 in ever green and jim winedorf our weather watcher as 48.

the family is relieved but not satisfied. >> it does not make sense how this incident resulted in the loss of life. >> the police also released pictures of a gun found at the scene. they say scott's fingerprints and dna were on the gun. his wife who was at the shooting and shot the cell phone video denies he was armed. hundreds came together for the funeral of the unarmed man shot by a tulsa police officer. terence crutcher was killed by officer betty shelby. she has been charged with manslaughter. tulsa's mayor was at yesterday's service. he told the congregation, we must stand up and say no more. >> groups of people marched down the streets of tulsa during the funeral for crutcher. it was peaceful and more than 100 people listened to speakers from the aclu that call justice. >> human being and everybody matters. even though officer shelby is charged with manslaughter, that

we have information on cbsdenver.com. this man is credited for saving at least one person's life during the columbine shootings. dave sanders was one of the 13 people killed in 1999. the man sanders saved is kyle nicholson that is a teacher at rifle high school. he came back to jefferson high school with his students so they could see the memorial for the victims. stan bush reports. rifle's high school don normally travel here for the race but for them this race is anything but normal. >> to my kid i remind them, dave sanders is not a race, he was a person. >> kyle nicholson is their coach and if it was not for dave sanders he would not be here. in the cafeteria at columbine when two gunman attacked. sanders was protecting him and dozens of others.

provide them with applesauces and our juices and our fresh apples and it became such a big hit that we finally launched retail and just last year we finally had enough fresh pack apples to go and make it available to consumers. >> that's great. i don't know too much about farming fresh fruits and i know you were saying that it is something that maybe not a lot of people know about so what if maybe some of the challenges that you guys face when farming fresh fruit? >> it for sure. we are up against a lot of things. frost and snow as we all know. the weather can be irregular and when it freezes we lose the flowers and we have years where we are up against drought or the fact that the honey bees are becoming more scarce that pollinate the apples to make apples so the fruit flowers turn into fruit. a number of challenges but i will go ahead and take a bite into one of these. >> please do.

>> on the storm watch in the midwest. incredibly drone video shows flooding in wisconsin. the damage is so severe that one high school football team can't play at their stadium for the rest of the year. a group of men saved this deer that got swept up in the river because of that same storm system in waterloo, iowa. what they could do and a group of men jumped in. >> we wanted to get the deer out of the water to safety. >> the men drove the deer out of town to set it free. good for them. we like to see that. >> how scary for the deer. nothing scary about our weather. we got a few clouds. partly cloudy skies starting

morning dryer air and cooler air is moving in behind that low. which is now in the north dakota area. now we turn our attention to this big high moving in on california. that ridge of high pressure will work its way in the central rockies and give us a warming trend. a few passing clouds and for the most part a lot of sunshine to get you going. looking good. temperature-wise, we are looking at 50s and 60s in the mountains. 70s and 60s out west across the eastern plains. 78 in lahunta and 68 in fort collins and 72 in grand junction. the high in denver should be at 68 with sunshine and 42 for the overnight low. clouds passing by this morning and 75 tomorrow. the start of a warming trend. they will be back for a little while tuesday and wednesday. both around 83 degrees and on

the average age of a homeless person is 9 years old. my dream is to help kids living on the streets with education. charles what's up man? -whoa! how can we help? -ah man! wait, is that a basketball player? yes! -wow! my heart's about to jump out my chest man. charles you ought to be proud man. i'm just extremely grateful they were here giving them some encouragement- that's something that these kids are going to remember for a lifetime.
