steve reporting. >> cbs4 live at civic center park this morning where we have an event happening there. we want our voice s heard. reporter: did you know there's 200 million eligible voters in the united states and many of the people don't register vote. that's why today is so important. according to the secretary of state's office in 20,086,000,000 americans didn't vote because they didn't know how to officials want to make sure nobody is left out. november 8th is election day so we have a little over a month to register to vote. colorado law allows you to register to vote through election day but note how you register is actually important. here's the approaches dead lines you need to pay attention to. november 1st is an application by mail for an absentee ballot.

military voter ballots, those must be received no later than november 21st. november 8th is election day. that's the last day to deliver a ballot in person to a local board of elections. for national voter registration day there's volunteers across the entire country helping to register people to vote. here in colorado dozens of events. for instance, here at the park, the voter registration event kicks off at 11:00. there's one another union station. for more information and have an event near you, visit national vote registration day.org. live, cbs4 morning news. >> jamie, thank you. >> time now weather and traffic every ten minutes. >> let's take a look at what's happening across the state and you'll notice it's calm across the satellite radar. we'll stay that way today. temperatures aren't bad. if you're getting ready to

. marijuana packaging is changing. also starting october t word candy cannot appear on any packages. the rule is intended to make marijuana products less appealing to children here. we've had problems, of course. providers must also include information including poteen say to help buyers understand the serving sizes. >> morning sickness may not feel good physically but it can be reassuring mentally. it's dreaded by moms to be but it can mean a mom has a healthier pregnancy.

cathy has more. >> allison, seven months pregnant and feeling great. early on, her morning sickness was unbearable. >> it was all day every day. middle of the night and morning. >> a new study from the national institute of health finds pregnant woman with morning sickness may have a lower risk of miscarriage. they found 800 women with miscarriage. 50-75% less likely to have miscarriages and still births. >> we can tell patients there's evident for this. they're not feeling miserable for no good reason. it demonstrates the pregnancy is progressing. >> researchers say the morning sickness possibly protects the unborn baby from toxins and

the quiet side. you can see all the way down to northern arizona they are getting rain in parts of arizona and new mexico. that's really about it. taking a look at our upper air patterns and looking at the atmosphere, we have pressure dominating for the next several days. we have a new system getting closer on thursday and we have rain potentially friday and saturday may be a better chance at that. looking at our future cast today and tomorrow it stays quiet across the state. mostly sunny skies today. nice lunch hour if you want to get outside and go for a walk and find a nice patio spot with a crew for lunch. maybe a few clouds south west. a few clouds tomorrow off to the west. moisture rolling through utah and maybe a pop or two. overall, it's again another dry day for us across colorado. temperatures today fairly mild. we're up a bit from yesterday. we hit 7 6. today looking at

c470 looking at paving work. we have speeds into the 40s. we're seeing great speeds both directions along i-225 and i- 70. as your make your way eastbound we're in the 50s. >> thanks a lot. florida marlins played their first game last night since the death of pitcher jose fernandez. he died in a boating accident and in his honor his teammates wore his 16 jersey. night dedicated to fernandez. >> he cracks one to deep right field and looks up and that ball is out of here into the second deck. the first home run of the season for dee gordon. >> watch as dee gordon could hardly keep his emotions in check as he rounded the bases and came home. you can see him crying as the crowd cheered his homer.

about 2 million accounts. of course, there were a lot of bumps in congress over that directed at the ceo of the bank still there. we weren't, those customers were not aware. were there red flags? >> they often were open and closed quickly. those accounts would have statements. what's the question? of course, read those documents very careful. i want to underscore especially if you receive them electronically. they found only 11% of customers opting out of paper which is very noble saving trees, they're not reviewing their statements online. only 11% are actually reviewing their statements online. that is the single best way to identify any unauthorized activity.

general tips. guys, stop banking via public wifi network. if you're shopping, check to see if the web site has the green lock image to the left of its url and that tends to be more secure. also, do change your sharing settings before logging on to a public network. i have to say i might be shouting out into the wind and nobody's listening, i don't think you should use the public wifi's because it's dangerous. you're exposing yourself. >gd it seems some of us are still susceptible to being victimized. half a million accounts were stolen from yahoo in 2014. how do we avoid this happening to us? >> here's the key with all pass words. strong, long and unique. we want to establish two fact

that way if a criminal were to gain access to your pass word he won't be able to log into the account. if you were using the same pass word on other accounts, you know that's a major security no, no. modify those accounts set up to fact or authentication on those as well. then change your security questions and the answers. not just on your yahoo account. do it on any valued don't do it on your personal information. here's what you do, make up answers and then record them in your password manager or like i do, write them down and put it in a secure place. don't tell anybody that place. if you think your identity has been stolen, immediately go to identity theft gov. >> thank you very much. i think that phrase, i can remember.
