live from colorado's news channel, this is cbs4 news at noon . this is the news at noon . it has been a big worry in colorado . foreign money coming into the state to get a piece of the marijuana business . what started as a money laundering case, allegedly involving funds from columbia, is now ending i am alan donnie

salinger has followed this case since it broke to did years ago >> reporter: today a sentencing took place . at one point it seemed that lewis could receive many years behind bars . instead, he walked out of court today with just a probationary sentence, including a short time in jail . this is the case that that much attention when it began to did years ago . then, federal agents raided numerous and grow houses . this led to charges that money was illegally being transferred from columbia into colorado's legalized marijuana system . this case is now winding down . today, lewis was sentenced to probation including 45 days in jail for his role . his attorney afterwards said all this amounts to the difference between state and federal laws involving marijuana .

morning it is 148 . minutes is the beginning of the year, our state has seen at least 148 people who decided not to buckle up and they died in a car crash . cdot says colorado plans behind other states when it comes to wearing seatbelts . we currently ranked 39th in the country . cdot says there has been an increase in fatal accidents involving people who are not buckled in . need to see the statistics to see what is happening . just this morning, 28-year-old man was killed near jewel and parker . his car was struck a truck . he was thrown from the vehicle . he was not wearing his seatbelt just over a week ago, a young couple of above high school teachers were killed when their vehicle rolled on i-25 near bloodlines . neither were wearing their seatbelts . however, their young daughter was properly strapped into a car seat in the back and she survived . the campaign is called beware of the lists . to emphasize how
