warning of clowns carrying out shootings. this follows reports in several states that clowns are terrorizing neighborhoods. karen morfitt is live in denver. >> reporter: we've seen this photo has been circulating around on social media as well. but it too appears to be a hoax. denver police are saying if you do have some sort of encounter with a clown, be very cautious. investig threat involving clowns and shootings at greeley schools is a hoax. one that quickly gained traction on social media and cut some students from school. >> i only had five kids in my classes today. i think that's kind of a waste of time for the teachers. >> reporter: the claims fall on similar reports from across the country in. south carolina clowns have reportedly been trying to lure into the woods.
