police mountain patrol had to be put down. there's an internal investigation. karen morfitt has been working to get answers about what happened. this mounted patrol unit is seen all over town. >> reporter: you've probably seen them here at civic center park.s me would only say the horse was showing signs or symptoms of colic when it went in for treatment. they are still opening an horse may have been neglected. the death of a horse on denver pd's mounted unit has prompted an internal affairs investigation. the horse named mc hammer has been with them since last year. a relatively new member of the unit. a tip raised concerns about abuse and prompted our calls to denver police. according to their spokesperson, the horse was

with symptoms of colic. today police say they made the difficult decision to put the horse town. they're investigating to determine if there was any negligence by department permit but couldn't reveal more about why because it's an open investigation. a spokesperson for the department went on to say that the investigation is not particular rauch, but it will be looking into the days and situations leading to whiching to put the horse down. the search for answers after two sisters died mysteriously vacationing overseaes. stan caught up with some of andy's skating teammates >> reporter: investigators

healthy women could apparently die at the same time from the same cause without leaving a trace. one was a talented denver figure skateder who should have been here tonight. now the focus of a mysterious death in paradise. >> reporter: 37-year-old annie was on a vakay out of a dream. the denver ice skater and is her sister were staying at this $2,000 a night resort. a luxurious travel destination off the african coast. two days after posting these photos, both sisters were found dead in their hotel room. the cause of death, a mystery. according to reports, the two women were drinking the day they died and even needed help getting back to their villa. they were found by hotel staff in their bed next morning. police said there were no signs of a physical altercation but
