58 in denver. 55 in fort collins. 48 in burlington. 58 in avon and aspen. a few showers in denver this morning and a chance for more rain this afternoon. let's check in with joel. good start to the morning commute in the denver area. as you make your way to the tech center, look at this nice light volume. so get past colorado out to yale, we have some cones up along there. northbound along i-25 getting past santa fe similar slowing. of course we have the closure at mississippi between santa fe and broadway. thanks joel, breaking news from lakewood this morning. police investigating a shooting. >> it happened at cody. jamie leary rushed to the scene and you're just now getting there, what can you tell us?

scene and this all started with a neighbor who saw something suspicious. the neighbor shot because of it. you can see now there's a home behind caution tape with its front light on. police are focusing their attention there. the incident started around 12:48. that's when police got a call of shots fired. there were multiple suspects trying to steal a car. a neighbor came out approaching them. the neighbor was shot and transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. police are declining to give a vehicle description but the investigation is ongoing. we're continuing to gather information here and report back when we figure out what is going on. maybe there's something we can do to help find these people. right now the suspects are on the run.

parliament. the two sisters found dead are still waiting autopsy resorts. they lived in denver and on vacation of a lifetime. the women were found unrespontaneous sif in their beds at night. this is after hotel staff helped them back from a day of drinking. the death investigation remains open and still unclear if foul play was the engineer involved in the crash of the hoboken train in new jersey is okay. they are still investigating what happened. the train plowed into the waiting area during yesterday's rush hour. investigators are pulling the train's event recorded and that will give them more information

good morning, health officials are urging you to get your flu shot sooner than later. new estimates show last year 45% of the u.s. got their flu vaccine. there was a drop in americans

vaccined which is concerning because they are the group at risk for flu complications. about one in eight working adults have a disability in the u.s. but fewer than half of these 22 million people are either working or looking for work. those with the disability are twice as likely to without disabilities. high indoor temperatures appear to worsen the symptoms of copd. researchers from johnses hopkins say it's worst in homes with more air pollutants. >> lers lauren to talk about our fresh air. rain on the western slope

and a few more clouds out there today. south side of denver and west side, a little light rain this morning. then we have scattered showers up towards red feather lakes and steamboat springs and as you head towards the western slope near rifle and meeker and into the craig area as well. looking at futurecast throughout the morning hours we see it ease up a bit and move to the south and a chance fo storms heading to denver. could see them as early as 2:00. those will clear overnight tonight and still have cloud cover tomorrow morning and the possibility of a few showers in the high country on saturday and maybe a few around the denver area and evening hours. if you're checking out the leaves it's a great weekend to do that. later we're watching a potentially bigger storm knocking those down.
