this is the news bragging in denver. police are investigating a shooting on high steed and 28th near denver zoo. police say one person is in critical condition. and right now there is no suspect information. we will continue to update you on this story as we learn more. authorities in california have a man in custody for the ad springs officers yesterday. riverside county deputies say 26-year-old john felix is a suspect. another officer was injured and remains in the hospital this morning. officers were trying to resolve a family dispute when a man they were talking to suddenly pulled out a gun and opened fire. the two fallen office verse been identified as 27-year-old leslie zerebny who had returned

veteran i should say, who was set to retire in december. he was working overtime on his day off when he was killed. tropical storm matthew has been downgraded to a post tropical psych clone. it continues to -- cyclone. it caused billions of dollars of damage and has killed at least 10 people in the united statesand nearly a thousand more in the caribbean. there is a high risk of flash flooding through the morning across north southeast virginia. and good morning i am kelly werthmann let's check our forecast with dave aguilera. >> good morning. you have to feel for the folks on east coast. especially while we are basking in the nice weather around here. we have a cool morning for some and a not so cool morning for others. it's 34 here and it's 50 here and 45 in sedalia this morning

wikileaks released thousands of hacked e-mails from her campaign chairman. the e-mails includes excerpts from the wall street events that earned her millions of dollars. one of them from a speech two years ago shows clinton acknowledging she is out of touch with the middle class because of the "fortunes my husband and i now enjoy and another speech she said politicians need both a public and private position to appease vo wikileaks says it's small portion of the 50,000 clinton e- mails they have and the state department says they will also release additional clinton e- mails over the next two weeks from her time as secretary of state. all these issues are he can spdz to -- expected to come up during the second presidential debate and we will have coverage starting at 7:00 right here on cbs4. right now firefighters are keeping an eye on a grass fire burning in summit county it started yesterday afternoon on the east side of lake dillon

acres burned. crews use 2 helicopters to battle the flames. now no structures are threatened but we are told firefighting efforts will continue later this morning. aurora police are looking for a man investigators believe was involved in a possible kidnapping and assault yesterday afternoon. police want to find 47-year-old christopher remson connected to a 1994gmc suburban qfm799. police received several reports of a possible kidnapping in the area of 6th and sable around 1 yesterday afternoon. witnesses say that they sai saw hmm assaulting and dragging a woman. right now the relationship between him and the woman is not known. police say he do lives in aurora and they don't believe he is left the metro area. it is bronco sunday and rookie paxton lynch is the

wedding day, mannedy and michael -- mandy and michael may be the luckiest newly weds. the video shows the couple celebrating during hurricane matthew. they originally planned their beg day to take place in baldhead island in north carolina but moved the event to wilmington due to the storm. the rain stopped during the reception and the wedding party went into the flooded streets to celebrate. i guess that's making the most of what's been a pretty naturally storm. >> i guess. yeah. if you have to we news this morning. you know the flooding is horrible down there but there's cold front that pushed this guy out to sea here. category 1 into the evening last night. and this morning it went post tropical is a big hoe pressure area out -- low pressure area out there right now. you can still see it's pounding a lot of rain on the coastline here. parts of new york state and virginia coastline and some of those areas still under the

news all of the computer models now are taking this guy out to sea due east by the time it gets to ties. it won't make the curl back to florida that some of the models were indicating last week so. , things are looking better out there. current temperatures now, we are 27 in craig this morning. 33 in aspen. 45 in boulder. and if we go in a little closer here you can see temperatures are across the board 36 in erie but down to littleton it's 46 down there already. and richard hoffmaon southwest littleton. he has 47 degrees right now and doug in western colorado going to 45. now we have had high clouds drifting in from a little disturbance in new mexico where it's been raining down there. so that will happen again today. we will be partly cloudy during the course of the day with just the high thin clouds passing by. rain though should stay down into southern colorado and new mexico. albaquerky had quite a bit of -- albuquerque had quite a bit of rain yesterday.

another warm day. there's moisture drifting into southern colorado. down here up above about 11,000 feet they may get a rain snow mix but the high clouds make it into denver with the rain staying down across the southern stretches of the state. temperatures today 70s out to the. 60s and 70s in mountains and west. my forecast for the big bronco game today kick off should be at 76. halftime about 74 and 72 by the 4th quarter. lots of sunshine today and then it will be a little breezy ahead of the next front that comes through. we will drop to 74 on tuesday with a few isolated late day thunderstorms and then a cool shot on wednesday only about 59 degrees. and back to 70 by the time we hit thursday. but if you look at that only tuesday has a chance of rain and that's it. and we had yesterday we had a couple grass fires pop up. we really need a lot more rain but it doesn't look likeites it is coming. >> hopefully we get something soon. >> wish say a prayer whatever you can do. >> okay thanks.

game day sunday. we have a broncos sunrise coming up there. broncos are hosting the falcons at mile high this afternoon so let's check in with dave aguilera for the game day forecast. dave. >> looking pretty good for a game around here today. it's cool this morning for some of us. we are at 35 in erie but westminster at 50 this morning. and as you get going this morning doug in western colorado has 45 to start you off this morning. and on the satellite, we have mostly clear skies right now but there's a high cloud mass coming in again. so much like yesterday, we will have a mix of high clouds and sunshine. it's moisture coming up from the little disturbance in new mexico. but that's not going to ruin the weather today. we will be mostly sunny earl i y few-- early a few high clouds this afternoon. and high clouds and heat this afternoon for a 76 degree high. and that will probably be the temperature right around kick off today for the big bronco game. so looking pretty good for this sunday.

there's high risk of flash flooding across north carolina. and southeast virginia as well. new this morning, a huge fire destroys several buildings in north myrtle beach south carolina. this happened last night and the buildings are on ocean front property evacuated ahead of matthew. firefighters had trouble getting to the scene because road were flooded. once they arrive the fire had spread to four buildings. no injuries have been reported and right now it's not clear what caused the fire. also new train derailment leaves more than two dozen people hurt. it happened last night east of new york city. investigators say a long island railroad commuter train sideswiped a work train causing the cars to jump the tracks. people hurt are expected to be okay. 600 people were on board. federal investigators are now looking into the cause of the crash. this is the news on campaign 2016. the trump campaign is trying to

started early. i had about 4 benign lumps before i was dewing nosed -- diagnosed at 39 so it's important to check yourself before you get 40. i was at stage 3b so it started to spread and i had to go with a bilateral masecretary mi and chemotherapy and i -- masecretary mi and a dancing event to raise money. >> you know, when i went through my battle you know a battle is not always just for you but it's for you to share with people you can get through the battle and so i actually you know i am faith-based and asked god what should i do with that and he said help people fight and so fighting together to save lives is the nation of the organization. so we have done a couple of things. this is just about the third big event that we have done the

survivors you know because some people lose their battle. one of the ladies that you saw in the blue dress, right after that she lost her battle to breast cancer. so, the night is just to honor the survivors and this year we are going to honor co-survivors because if not for co-survivors those that stood by us and helped us while we were sick in the middle of the night, you know where would we be so we will honor husbands people that are not married and we will honor survivors and the co-survivors and boy the stories are amazing. >> i can imagine. >> just heartfelt. >> very moving. as you said the battle is something that is not just you. it's everybody around you friend and family and others. so how can people get involved if they want to help. >> we have a website

i'm just extremely grateful they were here giving them some encouragement- that's something that these kids are going to remember for a lifetime. did you see his big old feet? look. whoa. this is the news breaking in denver. police are investigating a shooting on high street and 28th near the denver zoo. police say one person is in critical condition. and an investigation is happening in an alleyway in that area. we have not been given any suspect information just yet. but as soon as police have an update for us, we will be sure to share it with you. authorities in california
