good afternoon. copter4 is heading to a brush fire in elbert county. you can see smoke rising from the ground now. we're calling this the bradbury fire, it's burned already 100 acres. burning near kiowa and the chap really valley neighborhood if you live in the area you probably saw the smoke. the fire described as moving very quickly and right now

water in the area the elizabeth fire department asked for extra crews. we'll bring you updates as soon as we get them. this big story now after being taken to the hospital by ambulance, broncos head coach gary kubiak gets to go home this afternoon. we know the coach didn't feel well during the game but stuck it out even talking with reporters afterwards. this morning the broncos said he had a complex migraine. thank you for joining us. i'm britt moreno. our jaime mile high stadium. the team says kubiak had a series of tests overnight. can you tell us about those? >> reporter: he had an mri and ct scan, fortunately both came back normal. the official diagnosis was a complex migraine. health officials say it's exactly that, complex. at times it can even mimic symptoms of a stroke. the broncos said for kubiak the migraine caused extreme fatigue and body weakness.

immediately after the loss against the falcons but not before a brief post-game conference where he surprisingly showed no signs of illness. >> we battled. just didn't play very good, you have to give atlanta credit. they came in our place, played with a lot of poise, made a lot of big plays against us. did a great job once they got us down. so give them credit, they are a good football team. we have to have a short memory and get back to work. >> reporter: this is not the first time kubiak has had a health la day. in 2013 kubiak suffered a mini stroke and collapsed. he was head coach for the houston texans at that time. the broncos say he was kept overnight at the hospital for observation and testing because of his history. according to cbs 4's medical he had dave hnidi, he says while it's complex it can be

diagnose. >> the facial muscles droop. they are unable to move an arm or leg so it mimics a stroke. you look at kubiak's past history of having a pre-stroke or mini stroke, and then he develops symptoms such as this, the first thing you worry about is in fact he is going through a stroke. >> reporter: in a statement the broncos said he's received medication to treat the complex migraine. he's feeling much better and likely will be releas afternoon. live from sports authority field, jaime leary, cbs 4 news. it was tough for all of us to start monday because that health scare followed a disappointing loss for the broncos. the falcons won 23-16, rookie paxton lynch played his first game as starting quarterback and he was sacked. six times. but says he's glad to have the first start under his belt even though of course he's disappointed with the outcome. >> if i get put in that situation again i know how to

so, i'm glad i got the experience but i'm also upset we didn't come back with the win. >> the broncos don't have long to brood about the loss, they head to san diego for thursday night football. kickoff for the chargers game is at 6:25 right here on cbs 4. a shift in republican strategy in campaign 2016, speaker of the house paul ryan says he will not support republican presidential nominee donald trump no campaign for him for the rest of the election cycle. on a conference call he told republican lawmakers he will focus on making sure democrat hillary clinton does not get a democrat-controlled congress. this shift comes after a very contentious debate yesterday. cbs's craig boswell reports from the white house. >> reporter: donald trump tried to dismiss the uproar over an explosive 2005 recording of vulgar comments he made about women. >> this was locker room talk. i'm not proud of it.

to the american people. >> reporter: but hillary clinton said it proved him unsit for office. >> what we all saw and heard friday, was donald talking about women. what he thinks about women. what he does to women. >> reporter: trump said if he becomes president he'll hire a special prosecutessor to investigate clinton's use of a private e-mail server while she was secretary of state. >> it's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of donald trump is not in charge of the jail. >> reporter: clinton's campaign jail called the comments disappointing. >> this is just donald trump trying to intimidate hillary, bully hillary and change the debate from anything but himself. >> reporter: trump apologized for his remarks but it may be too late for many prominent republicans across the country who have condemned his statements and almost two dozen members of congress who pulled their support. trump's campaign manager says those lawmakers might

with giving the next three or four supreme court justs to hillary clinton they should think about that. justices. >> reporter: even with republican leaders jumping ship his core supporters are standing their ground in the battleground states of ohio and pennsylvania. at least 09% say their view is -- 90% say their view unchanged. the campaign returns to colorado this week. democratic vice presidential candidate governor tim kaine will be here this rn joining dave matthews for a rally at the national western complex. and eric trump is campaigning for his father today in greenwood village. he's at a small business roundtable hosted by the nextgen resources corporation. hillary clinton campaigns in pueblo wednesday. she will attend a voter registration event urging supporters to make sure they are in fact registered. and return ballots early once they arrive in the mail next week. happening now -- denver police are investigating a

it happened early this morning in the 2700 block of larimer. jennifer has more information. >> reporter: as of now no suspects or arrests but i can tell you what witnesses are telling me is a fight started inside this bar last night. and it spilled out into the street. now detectives say they don't know if that shooting is related to the started out here but they are on the scene and that is one of the major things they are trying to work to determine. look at this, a trailer that is outside, you can see one of the bullet holes from the shooting. i'm told about six shots were fired so that is now part of the evidence. also the crime lab, they are out here and on the other side of it, i'm not going to show this but there's a lot of blood on the ground so clearly someone was injured out here. what dpd is saying on the record is that two people were shot outside the cold crush bar, one person died and another has critical injuries.

likely for a broncos watch party which happens apparently on sunday nights. many of the witnesses ran once the shots were fired. so employees that i've spoken to say that their information was actually taken down by police officers, they were told to leave but they couldn't take their items inside or even their cars outside. detectives say they are trying to talk to as many witnesses as possible. having a tough time with that though. and sources tell me a car has been impounded and is now clearly there's still a lot of information to sort out here. still very early on in the investigation. police say they have no suspects nor any arrests at this point. live in denver, jennifer brice, cbs 4 news. still no suspects in a different double shooting in denver, that happened this weekend. this one happened on high street near 29th. police found two men in a yard after responding to the call of shots fired. this was of course a very

neighbors. >> just goes to show i got to lock my doors now. >> it's just too bad. whoever these guys are, sorry for their families. >> so far police haven't released the identities of either of those two victims. right now the aftermath of hurricane matthew poses a flood threat to parts of the southeast. more than a foot of rain caused severe flooding prompting many rescues. cbs news's mark strassman reports from fayetteville, north carolina. >> hold on, we're coming for you. fayetteville rescue teams scrambled to help a stranded mother and her instant daughter. the family's car got stuck in swirling flash floodwaters. >> it's ok. >> reporter: also ok, this family of three marooned on top of their suv. they tried to drive through a raging current and needed to rescued by a team of new york firefighters. over the weekend more than 1,000 people were rescued here. >> the greatest threat at this

flooding that will continue throughout this week in central and eastern north carolina. >> reporter: matthew dumped up to 15 inches of rain on parts of north carolina. >> even 90 miles inland you can see water and water-related problems all over. stranded homes and neighborhoods washed out roads. over the weekend rain was falling at a rate of two inches an hour. >> reporter: all that rain also overflowed the state's rivers several feet above normal le towns with record flooding. >> we ain't got nothing so we're going to try to get clothes before they get wet. >> reporter: families are using their own boats to collect what they can from homes where the water is rising. >> the problem was we had water last week. that come in. and got going before this come. nowhere for it to go. >> reporter: because of roads like this some residents won't get back in their homes for

we're hearing reports of farm equipment working it. officials are also calling for air support so planes are on standby. no structures are threatened at this hour but we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated and from this picture ashton you can see just how dry it is. we're in dire need of some rain in this area. >> we are in need of rain. of course we got some at the end of last week. elbert county not one of the areas that saw as much of the rain last week. we'll continue to watch that. ok hopefully you can hear me all right. we have had the wind, it's a little breezy in some areas and of course temperatures are warm. it was warm all weekend, it's going to continue to be warm here today, but we have a cooldown for the middle of the week. first live outside, look to the west and you can see a couple of clouds over the higher terrain. the vast majority of colorado will stay completory dry as we go through the reminder of day. tomorrow we see rain and snow come back to the state. temperatures over the weekend

we officially topped out at 76 yesterday. today we'll top out close to 80. saying 79 for the official high in denver. tomorrow down to 75. then as we get into wednesday we see the temperatures trop anywhere from 15 to 20 degrees, highs down into the upper 50s around here coming up for the middle of the week. highs today, well, we're going to climb into the 60s, and most mountain areas already there, like avon and lower 60s. meanwhile, ray already 82. burlington 79. so we're warming up quickly. again we're going to see even more warm-up the next couple of hours. thanks to all the sunshine and favorably westerly flow over the state. mostly clear skies as we look to the north. we see our next weather maker, rain over snow and northern montana and northern idaho, that is where the cold front is located. it will be over the denver area by the end of the day tomorrow. will gradually cool our temperature down, so we'll only

showers with this front. but there's not much moisture to work with and therefore rain and snow will be limited. going to start the futurecast at midnight tonight. you can see a few showers in the mountains, there will be some snow in the high country tonight and tomorrow. snow levels to stay relatively high up around 10,000 feet. at least that is where i think the accumulating snow would be and overall shouldn't be much. 7: 00 p.m. tomorrow, tuesday, again you can see rain and snow along i- 70 going through the mountains dealing with rain and snow from steamboat springs to rocky mountain national park. at the end of the day tomorrow it's possible a shower or two could make its way east over the front range and then on to the eastern plains. so we'll be on the lookout for that. again i just don't think we're going to see much in terms of moisture. today's forecast, 79, lots of sunshine and breezy. looking ahead to tomorrow we're talking 75 for the high temperature. wednesday 58 and then for the end of the week temperatures back into the 70s once again.

samsung has reportedly suspended its new galaxy note 7 phones, after replacement phones also overheated. cbs news kris vancleave explains some carriers are no longer selling it. >> it got really hot. i couldn't take it out.

of the replacement dplaks imlaksy note 7 say their new phones dangerously overheated. same with the original device. those phones were recalled last month after more than two dozen reports of burn injuries due to overheating lithium ion batteries. cnn's dan ackerman is not surprised by the reported production halt. >> there were enough cases in a short enough period of time so there was no other choice since they can'tid immediately. >> reporter: now three major carriers, at&t, t-mobile and verizon say they are stop exchanging the original phones with the samsung new replacements urging customers to power down their devices and return them. >> we're so fortunate she was not injured. or severely burned. >> reporter: andrew from minnesota says his daughter'srous planement galaxy note 7 overheated while she was holding it last week. michael said his new galaxy
