well into the 70s today again in denver. yesterday was warm in the high country and it never cooled off that much in the mountains. that is why it is a mix of rain and snow in the colorado high country. that is why it is melting and that is why we don't anticipate any major weather-related problems in the high country. right now we are right around 60 in denver but aspen avon 45. right now let's get a check on the traffic. here is joel. >> this is up at vail pass with chain restrictions in place. you look at the eisenhower tunnel they have been treating the roadways and you have some backsplash that could be chemically treated. right now the anb lines are

temperatures are warm enough we don't anticipate any significant accumulation. meanwhile for denver in the front range we have cloud cover but we are dry. that is the way we will stay until this afternoon when a few isolated showers could develop late afternoon into this evening. high temperature today 77. right now let's here is joel. >> you were talking about it being warm yesterday but a lot of the snowfall not accumulating. we still have chain traction restrictions in place, but my guess is they will be lifted shortly. make sure you top of with fluid before you head into the high country. look at this mass in the northbound direction with a spill on the highway just the

are warm enough that there is just not that much accumulation. we do not anticipate any major problems. at telluride we have some snow and a few thunderstorms in gunnison county. you can see the lightning. over highway 9 over hoosier pass between breckinridge and fairplay we have some snow coming down and some minor accumulation. up toward rocky mountain national park we have some rain and snow but for denver we are dry, and i don't think we will see much if any rain today until late into the afternoon and evening with a surge of precipitation in the mountains as it goes by. that will be denver's best opportunity for beneficial rain. we can guarantee it cooler day

we struggle to reach the 50s for wednesday. right now it is 58 at dia with 40s in the mountains. we are not concerned about any major accumulation for the mountains. almost 90 degrees down in southeast colorado but 70s around denver and tomorrow 55 with 72 thursday. >> wednesday looks like as we get information about what triggers a heart attack, anger or heavy exertion can trigger a heart attack according to a study in the journal of circulation. researchers say 12,000 patients have found those emotionally upset were twice as likely to feel heart attack symptoms. , and blood pressure medications

it could make a mess of the morning commute with the far lane of the left side getting by. you can see the cones set up with a heavy police presence. here are the delays that extended back to santa fe and even before then and almost to logan. we will watch this extending to colorado. >> all right. i know in the mountains is in gunnison county we have quite a bit of thunder showing up. look at all of the lightning strikes on the map with temperatures safely above freezing. we have north breckinridge reported 47. meanwhile, in the denver area we are dry this morning but mostly cloudy at the bus stop right around 56. we are well into the 70s this afternoon with more weather coming up
