live from colorado's news channel, this is cbs4 morning news. >> hello everybody. this is the news wednesday, october 12. i am alan gionet. >> and i am britt moreno. a little bit of a drizzle to the day here in the metro area. lets get over to ashton to figure out what is on tap lingering over denver in greeley this morning thanks to the cold front that rolled over last night and squeezing out we still have a little bit of rain and snow left in the high country. in the san juan mountains we have some participation -- precipitation this morning. i want to focus on the fog because in some areas it was a

making your way through the tech center. look at the situation from our cbs4 mousetrap cam . it is join up across the denver metro area. the color that you see is fog and not only affecting c-470 but highway 58 up into the high country. >> coming out of the foothills it was really think this morning. a suspicious device has local investigators working since yesterday to try and disarm this device. cbs4's shawn chitnis is live with the latest. shawn? >> reporter: alan, good morning. it has been safely detonated at least the remaining pieces of it still considered suspicious.

what is going on here. you can see hazmat teams still on location. in the distance is worthy needle in police department is -- nederland police department is cleaning up the device. late last night take a look at these two roadblocks brought in to begin that process of disarming what was already here and insight that backpack. multiple pieces were removed us this morning they know there was a potential for explosion but they still cannot say if anyone could have died. that is something they will needs to find in from the sample sent in for testing. we heard the explosion at one duct 45 in the morning -- 1:45 in the morning.

of hazardous materials they will still have to close off part of this business center with different shops in the area right next to the police office as well as the day care on the north side of this location. they do hope to open the south side of this location later in the morning. this all started around 7 a.m. on tuesday when the backpack was left outside of the police department and on it in a notice there was what appeared to be an ied. at this point it moves forward as they tried to figure out who left it there and why. shawn chitnis, cbs4 when news. in denver we have an apparent barricade situation. >> it is near iowa and bring street and jamie leary is out there.

camera right now. can you explain why? >> reporter: this is a really sensitive situation with an armored type vehicle. they have somebody in that armored vehicle talking to a person inside of the garage. there is a man inside the garage and photographer eddie caster and i are parked on iowa so as not to take away from what is happening at this point in time. they are speaking to him saying they want this to end peacefully. they continue to say that to this person inside of the garage. they also tell him if you don't come out we are forced to come in. so this is active ongoing. this probably started around 12:50 this morning possibly

first i have to start with the visibility because the fog has limited visibility down to a half-mile for centennial and most areas on the southeast side of town out toward parker with the dia us all half-mile visibility. most areas have at least some fog to deal with this morning and whenever we have fog we typically have drizzle. but we are above freezing, which is a big change compared to yesterday with 60 degrees. it is 35 degrees right now and 13. comparing the temperatures -- in born to thornton. ken temperatures yesterday it is warmer in some mountain towns than yesterday. 30s for the most part of the eastern plains and it is 42 degrees in telluride.

rain and snow left in the high country this morning. what we do have is going to wrapup here later on and we should be dry by this later on in the night. this is why temperatures will be so much cooler today with highs in the 50s up and down the front range. the fog and the drizzle and by mid to late morning and this afternoon we will see more and more sunshine through the day. 73 and friday is 81. what a stark contrast for the weekend. almost one of those times where we have to say only in colorado. this is what makes us an awesome voice. this is like a 25 and you are facing some spots >> out there.

>> we did find a deceased voter. >> so a dead person voted? >> yep. >> reporter: angela myers said the fraudulent vote was uncovered due to the cbs4 investigation "dying to vote" which from some dead coloradans footage from the great. myers says someone duplicated e and voted. >> i don't think this is an accident at this point. >> do think this was intentional? >> i think someone signing his name to his ballot and voted and that is fraud. >> reporter: officials say some fraud is expected. >> how many dead voters is acceptable? >> none.

behind it. a wet stretch to the morning with fog, rain, and snow in parts of the state. we will tell you where. live from colorado's news channel, this is cbs4 morning news. >> it is so foggy out in some places you cannot see 20 feet. >> let's get over to ashton who can tell us exactly where it is settling in. >> i wanted to quickly show you are streetlight camera the street from cbs4. if you look closely you see all of the precipitation. it is some drizzle with low clouds and fog this morning. the biggest issue is on the southeast side of town. that is where the biggest problem with fog is this morning. you can see here on doppler 4000 we have the low clouds ever. right now let's get a check on the traffic. here is joel.
