for us it is a big change. looking at the visibility map we always get concerned when it is a half-mile or lower and the biggest issue now is parker and the east side of douglas county. we were sure the details coming up but right now let's get a check on the traffic. here is joel. >> this is your headline from the cbs4 tech center cam . you can see the wet roads have increasing volume. breaking with an apparent barricade situation. >> it is happening near iowa and greene street. jamie leary has been working since the start of the newscast. good morning, jamie. >> reporter: we have breaking developments right now. we heard some glass shatter early with the s.w.a.t. team entering the premises where this person was barricaded since 12:50 this morning.

disturbance. right now we hear commotion. we heard a little bit of shouting a moment ago. they do have k9s on the scene so it seems they have apprehended a suspect. there is a large fence blocking views so we don't quite know what is going on behind the fence but we do know the s.w.a.t. team has entered the premises and broken glass earlier. whether or not that happen this man decided to go peacefully has yet to be seen. we will stay here and see what is going on. they are not talking to this person anymore. they have entered the premises. we will keep an eye on the situation here and let you know when further developments happen. jamie leary, cbs4 morning news. a suspicious device has kept the area closed at the

local and federal investigators are working together on this one. cbs4's shawn chitnis is live with the latest. >> reporter: that is right. those businesses are still closed off. behind me i am watching a hazmat team still working to clean up the area. they were able to detonate that device earlier this morning with a controlled detonation and they believe any danger related to the explosion has now been removed from the area. take a look at robots brought in late last night as they were working to remove that threat. they now have to deal with the hazmat site they are still early in the investigation realizing there was a potential for explosion and any danger that comes with that but unclear

that is something they'll have to learn from a test sent in boulder. they are also working to figure out who may have dropped off this backpack yesterday in front of the police department. we are told that investigation is going forward. today we may learn who did that. shawn chitnis, cbs4 morning news. this is a big story. a denver man is facing several charges he is accused of shooting and killing a teenager and injuring another. investigators think them have jumped his fence to steal his illegal marijuana plants. karen morfitt is looking at laws about protecting your home and property. >> reporter: investigators say to teenagers were shot after hopping a fence into the backyard of the sum.

>> there was a break in the two more. >> 48-year-old keith hammock is facing charges of murder and attempted murder. hammock may have been trying to protect his illegal marijuana plants. >> the law does it say you could use force just to defend your property. >> reporter: hammock told police the teenagers them on the ground. officers would later discover rifles near his second-floor window. former prosecutor karen steinhowzer said it is likely a suspect would argue more than self-defense. >> if you're in a yard and the people are shooting it is going to be hard to our new that he felt physically in danger.

tomorrow we go back too much warmer weather once again. fog is a problem this morning. there is no issues in the mountains or a northern colorado. fort collins and really is in fine shape but here in the denver metro area we have fog across the region especially at dia where visibility has dropped to a half-mile. temperatures are currently in the 30s around town with 38 in northern douglas county at highlands ranch. boulder is at 35 this morning and comparing current temperatures to where we were yesterday it is 25 degrees colder and you will definitely need the jacket. some areas are warmer than we are here along the front range.

from our cbs4 mousetrap cam . it is the wet roads across the nver metro areas and as you make your way westbound along i- 70 we are still seeing good speeds southbound. we got a couple trouble spot and it is the closure of the ramp as they continue to work along here. this orange color shows north of i-70 and then down around portions of see e-470 up by the 285 into the high country out to conifer. we are seeing great speeds on i- 70. families in north carolina are holding on to help waiting

this after massive flooding from hurricane matthew. many people were evacuated from lumberton staying at fayetteville when the waters began to rise. elizabeth lori wallace and her son were caught off guard. they had to get out but hardly anything and others are now looking for missing family members. >> i have lost everything i have forgot. we have animals missing family missing. i haven't seen my daughter since thursday. >> she actually found her daughter in a nearby shelter. she now has to wait for word on getting a new place to stay. a missing girl in florida has been found safe in tennessee. the man accused of taking her is in custody. brian webb has a reunion with her family.

family after a search. a nurse at a memphis hospital spotted people girl and her of doctor in the parking lot recognized her from an amber alert and called police. >> we were just focused on that little girl. >> reporter: police believe lewis was taken by a former family friend. th name changed to west wild hogs had lived with the family. >> it went from anger to love to hate back to love. >> reporter: tennessee authorities are being criticized for delaying the amber alert. it was issued after they were seen by a park ranger on sunday. >> we escalated our situation based upon the information available at the time.
