rino. hi, everybody. welcome to the cbs4 morning news at 4:30. it's friday, october 14th. i'm alan gionet. >> i'm britt moreno. sorry about the loss. we are waking up after a broncos' loss to san dio. >> yeah, we can forget about the loss. the next game is a good ways away. let's go to ashton. i'm going to try to lift your spirits in the weather department as well. we have a very quiet start to the day, as we look live over denver this morning. sun will be up around 7:10. once the sun comes up we're going to see a lot of it today. the sunshine combined with a southwesterly flow over colorado means we could

front range later on. now we have 30s in the mountains. 57 at dia. 52 in boulder. 37 in greeley and 45 in fort collins. mostly clear skies throughout the state. almost a full moon outside this morning. by 9:00 a.m., 58. and lunchtime 77. i'm going with 85 for a high this afternoon. that's significant because the record for this date is 85, we could at least tie, maybe break that record later today. we'll talk more about this and have your weekend outlook coming up. let's get a check on the traffic. joe is here for joel this morning. good morning. this is a look from our cbs4 mile high cam. this is around i-25 and park avenue. just construction that will be tying up that ramp from i-70 as you're going through park avenue to i-25, so expect that

down the bar. it suspended the liquor license and could start a case. >> to hear it was closed, it was heart breaking. >> reporter: lanie hodges said this place is like her home. >> i know i can go to cold crush and find people that appreciate diversity and social justice. >> reporter: the city says it's a public health risk. >> i think there is a sense there might be targeting going on because it is a black owned business and because there tend to be blactr looking into cases of disruptive and illegal activities. >> it would be sad to see it go because it's the heart of this neighborhood. >> we are interested in working with meme to make this -- people to make this work for everyone, because this would be a huge loss to the community. >> city officials say there are two courses they can take within 10 days. the city attorney's office could pursue a nuisance abatement case, and within the next couple of weeks there will

license suspense. investors are hoping for a nice ending to the week. >> let's go to jill wagner live on the floor of the new york stock exchange with your moneywatch report. jill. >> reporter: good morning, alan and britt. on wall street yesterday the dow fell 45 points, nasdaq dropped 25. futures pointing to a bit of a higher open. wells fargo reports its earnings this morning before the opening bell. we'll see how big of a hit the bank took involving fake accounts. the bank was fined $185 million because its workers opened millions of customer accounts without their knowledge. ceo john stumpf resigned this week. hp is laying off 3 to 4,000 more people this week.

therapy. those patients are twice as likely to develop dementia within five years. doctors are having better success in treating breast cancer. a new study says the death rate for angelo women declined 1.9% between 2010 and 2014. it was down 4.5% for african- americans. researchers think it's due to better education about screening and treatment. there is new evidence that increase in liver cancer. researchers at the american cancer society studied three factors of obesity and they found high body mass increased waist size and a form of type 2 diabetes were strongly linked to an increased risk for liver cancer. incredible video of a man trying to stand in hurricane force winds and rain in bermuda. this is not easy. hurricane nicole hit the island

stood in the midst of that category 3 storm, which honestly is not all that bright to be honest with you. downed trees, downed power line. he could have been hit by flying debris. >> it's even tough to watch. we're on suspense here, ashton, because we're worried something might happen to this guy. alan just said it, debris flying through the air, that's the biggest concern there, so not a smart thing to do. here in denver and along the winds, mild temperatures, clear skies and an almost full moon. live look outside at our 98% full moon that we have overhead here this morning. it is going to be a spectacular day, if you like warm weather, that is. forget about fall for at least the next couple of days. we're going back to summer-like weather today. in fact, we are anticipating at least tying a record in denver. the record is 85, and i think we'll get at least that warm.

around town, including 56 at denver city park. most mountain areas are in the 30s with clear skies, it is quite chilly in the mountains. gunnison 27. 32 alamosa. and 37 currently in avon. here's where we're going to be later on today, high temperatures soaring into the 80s along the front range. 60s in the mountains. 80s for the western slope, and 80s for the eastern plains. some locations to the southeast like la junta and afternoon. mostly clear skies almost everywhere. the clouds to the west will be unsuccessful at making their way into our state today, because we have high pressure in control of our weather. big storm system moving into the pacific northwest, bringing in an enormous amount of rain to oregon and washington. it will stay away from us. we don't have any rain in the forecast or mountain snow any

i'll pause at midnight tonight. couple of clouds develop along the front range, so partly cloudy. otherwise, it will be a sunny and very warm weekend. 85 today and again, that is the record for this date. tomorrow 80, followed by 81 sunday. will be some of the warmest temperatures ever for the rock and roll half marathon this weekend. a cold front comes through tuesday, 64. joel is off on this friday. but joe is here. good morning. ashton, good here's a look at what's going on. it's looking nice and wide open for now. unfortunately, south of that at arapahoe there's still some construction tying up that left lane. hopefully cdot will get it out of the way as soon as possible. here is the big project coming up this weekend. ramps from santa fe to eastbound c-470 are going be closed. cdot will be doing some analysis work for the express lanes project. that will happen monday night

the broncos did not win. the broncos' offense struggled to find any rhythm against the chargers. they did not cross mid-field in the first half other than recovering a fumble on a punt. they could not run the ball. didn't get much offense until the fourth quarter. broncos' offense not making excuses. they did not blame the fact gary kubiak wasn't here or the short week. they said they didn't make enough plays. >> at the end of the day, it coto i didn't do enough tonight. >> reporter: did they do anything differently up front? >> definitely not. everybody they had we saw. we have to execute better and our play makers got to make plays. i don't want to sound like i'm repeating myself. when we get the opportunity to make plays, we got to make that opportunity go and we did tonight. >> we got to get back and focus and understand that, you know, any time we go out there we just have to execute. we must execute as a team and
