old fredo chavez was part of group of teens trying to steal marijuana plants from the man's back yard. the charges were dropped. >> he said he was scared for his life but shot my son in the back. how is that justifiable? >> he said he heard the teens on his property and fired a warning shot, that bullet hit chavez in the back and killed him. we are waiting to hear if a man in denver wi against a similar shooting. police say keith hammock shot two teenagers in his yard sunday morning, killing one of them. investigators believed the teens broke the fence to get into his yard where illegal marijuana plants were growing. one man in bermuda ventureed out into the powerful rain and the wind from hurricane nicole. the category 3 hurricane drenched the island nation. the government is clearing roads. there are reports of flooding and road damage, and this guy

but high clouds have pushed in ahead of a system pounding the northeastern, or northwestern seaboard. so that is slowing our warmup. if we look at the temperatures, 78 degrees now. most of these are 70s. false readings in boulder, greeley and fort collins. they're in the 70s up there. 74 colorado springs as well. mike nichols is reporting a cool spot at 79 in the colorado leader. wind gusts 35 miles per hour, humidity 20% in san luis. also if you know of anybody or going up into wyoming or nebraska, they have red flag warnings up north as well. just so dry and breezy around there. here's a look at the satellite. big bank of clouds sliding in. high and mid-level clouds, so won't see much in the way of rain. it's filtering out the heat and sunshine this afternoon. on the big picture, take a look

blasting through washington, oregon, northern california. we talked about that at the top of the show. that will be moving in. high pressure over arizona and that should hold most of that. northern colorado may see this front that spreads into san francisco touch some areas during the course of the weekend, friday into saturday. however, i think the high that's over arizona will be strong enough to hold it up. the remainder of the day clouds, but no rainfall to be had at all. highs today, 80s east. 60s and 70s in the mountains. 80 for grand junction. here we go, i'm thinking we'll make it to 83, 82 for the high. the record is 85. i don't think we'll have a record high today. 80s, mostly sunny skies, way above normal. the next cool down tuesday at 64 degrees with a little cold front comes through here. i don't know, what do you think, 80, is that easy to run in? >> i love it.
