earl crimes here in colorado. >> when i tried to close the door he forced his way in. what caused this nasty plume of smoke and is it a health risk? two more women come forward saying donald trump groped them. faa bans the galaxy note 7 from u.s. flights. developing now a horrifying attack on a woman in aurora. sexually assaulted inside her apartment. cbs4 has now learned now in custody is wanted for similar crimes in mexico. in an interview you will see only on cbs4 lauren dispirito spoke with the victim. she has a very powerful message for other victims. >> reporter: she certainly does. police caught her alleged attacker here at this bar and restaurant after they say he tried to force his way into a woman's apartment. he's also accused of sexually assaulting another woman earlier this month.

to identify victims of sexual assault, this woman told me she wanted to go on camera to show other victims it's okay to come forward. >> i want to be the catalyst of bravery for other people. >> reporter: this woman asked we not share her name. she was home with her baby in aurora earlier this month when she says a man forced his way through her front door demanded cash and raped her at knife point. >> this part and threatened my life, the life of my child. >> reporter: despite fearing for her safety that she may not be believed, she spoke up. >> i have to be brave if no one else is going to be. i have to be the person that's going to come forward and say this has to stop and it can't happen again. >> reporter: police arrested her alleged attacker. 25-year-old ricardo corral- venegas. >> i am elated that they caught him before he could hurt anyone

sexually assault the victim yesterday during a party in the area of 36th and forrest. in north park hill. the man is described as white, 6'0" tall with a thin build, brown or dirty blonde hair and scruff on his face. health concerns linger tonight after this ugly plume of smoke billowed from a refinery in commerce city. the plant was shut down and residents were told to stay indoors for a time. cbs4's jeff todd lined out -- live outside the suncor plant. jeff, what have we tonight? was there a health risk? >> reporter: we are hearing from multiple agencies that while that smoke plume looked really bad, early indications are that it's not a public health risk. now, it was all started when a transmission power line headed into this plant was tripped sometime around noon. that meant that the plant needed to shut down. >> peeked around the corner and it was just the yellow smoke billowing out everywhere.

firetruck in the whole area is cruising down the road. >> reporter: suncor as -- after the power failure they were in the process of shutting down refinery operations. but an upset in that process started to burn catalyst, dust and oil. >> catalyst is a part of the refining process. it's fine dust. so because the process was still happening, there's a little bit of hydrocarbon oil in the catalyst. >> reporter: all around the metro area orange smoke could be seen for miles. immediately crews started testing the air including the south adams fire. >> as we determined everything is looking good the monitors are showing zero. we are comfortable that there is no toxic material released. the monitors continued to show zero. the entire time we monitored. >> reporter: around 3:00 p.m. we saw the department of environmental health from denver who was alongside the federal epa monitoring the air.

no signs of hazardous chemicals. >> i can tell you we live in this area as well so we are just as concerned as the citizens are. >> reporter: the colorado department of public health and environment said this afternoon they are waiting on a report from suncor energy before it's determined if there was a hazardous release or not. they said simply right now, they don't have enough information and th d give a timeline on when they will have that report and then give a determination on what exactly happened here. reporting live, jeff todd, cbs4 news. new information on what sparked the grass fire in east aurora today. officials tell us it was started by someone burning weeds and trash in their own backyard. flames burned 30 acres, came dangerously close to other homes in the whispering pines subdivision east of e-470. the fire has since been put out. let's get over to meteorologist lauren whitney. lauren, we know we need some rain but it does not look like

karen morfitt joins us live in denver, that suspect does remain behind bars. >> reporter: he is being held on a $350,000 bond, that's despite having a long criminal history and having violated immigration laws. surveillance cameras did show a man believed to be garcia chasing down a woman in wheat ridge. she ended up knocking on brian gear store, a good samaritan who rushed out to help, being shot by garcia who then fled the area. he was caught three days later after a hotel standoff with denver police. according to arrest paperwork garcia kidnapped that woman, ex- girlfriend drove her to the mountains and planned to kill her. investigator say a man in the truck with them was able to talk him out of murder and when they returned to town she was able to escape. garcia is set to be back in
