live from colorado's news channel, this is cbs4 morning news. >> hello, everybody. it is good to have you with us. this is the news on cbs4 and i am alan gionet. >> and i am britt moreno. it is here and let's embrace it. the weekend was spectacular weather-wise. let's geov figure out what is on tap for today. >> it will not be as warm as it was over the weekend with mid- 80s saturday and sunday and that was a record on saturday. yesterday we came close to the record. this morning we have a cold front to the northwest of us. you can see rain and snow in northern utah up to idaho and wyoming. it doesn't get here until this afternoon and the chance for rain will hold off until tonight.

most mountain areas are warmer than the front range with 61 in aspen. wind currently not that strong colorado springs of the 22 miles-per-hour. it will be another warm day, but it will not be as warm as it was over the weekend with mid-80s saturday and sunday for denver. we will be at 76 here and 72 in greeley. in the mountains most areas will be in the 50s or the 60s. we have mostly clear skies this morning except for some cloud cover in the southeastern part of the state. what we are really watching is to northwest with rain and snow in wyoming and idaho and northern utah where the cold front is located arriving this afternoon with temperatures dropping even more around the front.

>> right now police are investigating a father who left his daughter alone in the cold at ogden weeper technical college -- ogden weber technical college in utah. they were seen walking up to a campus daycare which was closed and you can see the father give the girl a few blankets and then he walks off motioned for her to stay. she wanders around the entrance and then she ends up walking her and called police. >> i am sure that two hours felt like all night to her. >> we have to documents on file. >> if this occurred there is a possibility other things may have occurred. >> it was under 40 degrees at the time. the father is now facing abandonment and child abuse charges.
