in durango, and today donald trump. we have coverage beginning at 5:00, as polls show hillary clinton gaining ground. a poll gives clinton an 8-point lead in a three way race including libertarian gary johnson. >> reporter: the latest cbs news po in a four-way race. that's up from just 4 points two weeks ago. but the poll was taken before the latest release of fbi documents related to clinton's e-mail scandal, in particular an interview with an fbi employee who says he felt pressured to change a classified e-mail from clinton's server to unclassified as part of a quid pro quo between the fbi official and undersecretary of state patrick kennedy.

white house. >> trump is scheduled to speak in colorado springs and we'll stream at that live on our facebook page. crews are checking to see if that fire burning in the mountains west of pueblo has burned more homes. we have team coverage of that wildfire. meteorologist ashton altieri is checking on the conditions. he's in colorado's weather center. but let's start with our matt kroschel who is right now. hey, matt. >> reporter: alan, we're talking about this fire because it has been so destructive. i was just able to confirm with the sheriff that two homes and five outbuildings have been confirmed as destroyed because of those fast moving flames yesterday. you can see here in the valley there are supposed to be mountains behind me. you can't see those because of the amount of thick smoke. yesterday the winds really

more than 15,000 acres in about 12 hours. those winds have died down overnight and into this morning. they are still seeing fire growth. no new evacuations, but nearly 200 hopes are evacuated now. nearly a dozen aircraft will join this attack on the fire today and 114 firefighters working on the ground attack. >> made a lot of good progress. there's going to be fire crews working residents of custer county and pueblo county. and i want to assure all the residents that we are doing our very best and working as hard as we can to preserve the structures in place and prevent any further damage to structures. >> reporter: now, a lot of roads in the area remain closed and they're asking folks to stay out of the way, let firefighters do their work. still zero percent containment on this fire.

investigateed at this hour. live in westcliffe, matt kroschel,. firefighters have a small wildfire burning near rampart reservoir behind the air force academy about 50% contained. it burned about 14 acres yesterday, but it didn't damage structures. firefighters hope to have it fully contained today. want to get to meteorologist ashton altieri in colorado's weather center now. what are the conditions on those fire lines first of all? >> of extremely dry. but as matt mentioned, the good news is the wind has really calmed down since yesterday. that's going to help the fire fighting effort. what we really would like to see is some rain, some moisture in southern colorado. unfortunately, the chance for that is near zero. we have a small chance of seeing rain coming up tonight in our part of the state. live at the tech center, it is hazy and some of the haze is because of those fires burning to the south of us.

moving into the region. that will continue to be the case through this afternoon. we're going to see more and more cloud cover, less and less sunshine. doppler 4000 is showing a couple of rain and snowflakes in western boulder county and up into rocky mountain national park near estes park, we've had a couple of showers farther to the west as well. here's the futurecast. a few isolated showers in the mountains through the rest of the day. here comes the better chance for seeing moisture. it will be snow in the mountains, 2 to 6 inches possible, including along and north of i-70. fort collins has a better chance of seeing rain compared to denver. still, that chance is there. fort collins probably about 50, maybe 60% chance of seeing rain tonight. denver and boulder, closer to 20 or 30%. down south where we could really use that rain the chance is close to zero. 50s and 60s now. we're not going to warm up much more than we are currently.

fiveday4cast coming up. thanks, ashton. new developments in a stabbing on south federal boulevard. the man has died. this happened last night. police haven't released information about suspects. the man who confessed to the deadly shooting at the planned parenthood in colorado springs is still incompetent to stand trial. a judge sent robert dear to the state mental hospital after a hearing today. he'll be revalued again november 17th. with murder, attempted murder and other counts in the shootings that killed three. dozens of children are safe after they were rescued from the sex trafficking trade thanks to the fbi and agencies really around the nation. our jamie leary live at the fbi denver division. jamie, this is all an ongoing long-term project i know. >> reporter: very long-term. it's called cross country

this is the tenth year the rocky mountain innocence lost task force has teamed up with the fbi and other agencies in this operation. it was an intense 3-day operation that happened last week. a nationwide effort as well. even in that short amount of time it's incredible, these agencies were able to rescue dozens of children. the agencies involved announced just today that 82 children across the nation were nine recovered. 11 pimps were rescued. the youngest child was 14. it took efforts from 38 agencies across the country. locally investigators say they're noticing a trend this time around, an increase in the use of social media as a way to target and exploit kids. not just mainstream social media, officials are seeing it through many dating and meetup applications as well as facebook. it's estimated as many as 2,000 kids in wyoming and colorado are trafficed every year.

seems more like fall, doesn't it? clouds, a little bit of a chill in the air. we were in the 30s this morning. we've climbed into the 50s. most of us will top out in the 60s. not nearly as warm as it has been the last several days. that's one view over denver. i want to show you another one from our tech center camera. you can clearly see the haze that's in the sky. some of this haze originating from the smoke coming from the wildfire in southern colorado, where we really need the rain. but unfortunately we're not going to see any moistuor state. temperatures right now in the 40s and 50s in the mountains. 62 at dia. 55 in boulder. 57 in greeley. we may warm up another 5, possibly 10 degrees where we are now, but that will be it. the additional cloud cover will limit our warming. 65 in denver. 62 in boulder and the same for greeley here this afternoon. doppler 4000 showing the clouds on the increase.

your area as well. most of the high country is already covered with cloud cover. around rocky mountain national park, estes park a couple of showers, both rain and snow. this is an upper level weather disturbance. it's currently in northern nevada. it was in northern california earlier. it's racing to the east. over the next 18 to 24 hours it's going to ride along the colorado/wyoming state line. the best chance of 1:00p.m. on the futurecast, picking up where the rain and snow is now. here's the model at 7:00 p.m. notice rain from fort collins and up along the interstate 80 corridor, cheyenne to laramie, you'll see rain this evening, better chance than denver. and fort collins you have a better chance than boulder and denver as well. still a chance those of us in the denver area could see a quick shower tonight. the farther south you live that

for the mountains at 11:00 tonight, some snow. 2to 6 inches of snow possible, including along interstate 70. then up over berthoud pass, rabbit ears pass we'll see snow there tonight for sure. temperatures topping out in the mid-60s this afternoon, with the clouds continuing to increase. again, there's that small chance for rain tonight, and then tomorrow sun comes back. but it will be cool. high temperature 58. breezy tomorrow as well. thursday back into the 60s and then 70s return on track, fourth weekend in a row, stunning weather for most of colorado. sunny, temps in the 70s. >> great to say that again well done. catholic church is running into opposition in its attempt to build a mountain retreat and conference center. brian maass talked to those involved and learned the biggest issue is the threat of wildfires. >> reporter: its rolling foresters and meadows are where the archdiocese plans to build

>> thanks for coming. >> reporter: at this women's boutique in boulder, a teenager is getting special treatment. >> i want to introduce you to my team. >> reporter: payton is a celebrity in the crimson clover shop. she has become their cause. >> i can't even fathom what she's going through. >> reporter: at 15, she was learning to drive and making a run at modeling. she started feeling severe back and abdominal pain. the explanatio-- >> reporter: but she got worse. >> my stomach started expanding. >> reporter: on her 16th birthday, she learned she had stage four ovarian cancer. it was in her lungs and all through her abdomen. >> i was in disbelief. i didn't think it was, that can't be right. >> all cancer, all that light should not be there. >> reporter: her doctor calls payton a medical mystery.
