trump insists those polls are wrong. >> i don't believe them. and if there's 10, if there's one or two bad ones that the only one they show. believe me, folks. we are doing great. >> trump has been telling supporters the election's rate. and he pushed that message during an interview with our political specialist shaun boyd. >> reporter: let's say for hypothetical sake things don't go your way. will you run again in 2020? >> well, i think they are going to go my way. we see polls coming out, the swing states are all very, very close and i i'll make you a deal. if they don't you'll be the first when i talk about it. >> reporter: not looking beyond november 8 and polls not looking good for him in swing states like colorado where he rallied thousands of supporters telling them the election is rigged against him. >> can you give some evidence of any national voter fraud? >> well actually, there's articles that you have over 2 million people, dead people or just about 2 million, that are

is poisoning the minds of voters by playing up allegations of sexual assault by women that he suggests were paid by democrats. >> very interestingly it just came out that there were protesters that were paid by the democratic national committee or somebody. and this is a situation which is not so much different, this where -- and these were made up allegations. >> reporter: the allegations almost certain to come up at the last es have you been prepping for this debate? >> i have been. listen to the crowd. it's 21 days. hard to believe after all of this time, and all of this effort and spending the money. i will have spent over $100 million by the time this ends. >> reporter: trump will be at least equally prepared for the final debate as he was for the last one. , the -- newly released documents showing a state department official apparently tried to bribe the fbi to declassify a clinton e-mail.

that official should be fired. in colorado springs, shaun boyd, cbs4 news. >> sean will be with us covering that debate, you can watch it right here tomorrow night on cbs4. new developments in the junkins wildfire burning in southern colorado. we learned late today more homes have been destroyed. and people have been evacuated, we are able to get new information tonight from the fire managers. matt kroschel was at that community meeting. the news is not good for now. >> five homes confirmed lost, 13 others structures, tonight the sheriff time -- telling people at this meeting had been evacuated already that there's probably more structures that have been burned but they haven't even reached those areas of the fire zone yet. >> ica plane. >> reporter: a welcome site. >> maybe they are starting to come in. >> reporter: nearly a dozen aircraft.

>> reporter: more than 300 firefighters building lines and protecting homes, hundreds of people remain evacuated. >> these represent fires. >> reporter: many of them gathering to learn the fate of their property at this community meeting in florence. >> i lost two big barns, one built in 1910. the other barn built in 1920. >> reporter: rancher bill donnelly toured his property where herds of cattle didn't make it out. >> now there's just tin and millions of males. >> we want to send our thoughts and prayers out to the folks that have lost their homes or lost property. it's a tough situation. >> reporter: as the fight to keep more buildings from burning continues people who call this place home are great for for what firefighters managed to save. >> i want to thank everybody that can. the people that stayed all night, we are grateful for what they've done. >> reporter: crews have more

battling this monster that continues to spread. a lot of people on social media asking us how this fire started. tonight fire investigators confirming in all of the winners that were here yesterday morning 70-mile an hour gusts, a metal shed actually collapsed and hit a power pole and that's what sparked this entire wildfire. reporting live in florence tonight, matt kroschel, cbs4 mountain newsroom. >> so much destruction. thank you. meteorologist lauren in colorado's weather center. those fire crews are fighting bone dry conditions. >> there is some moisture in the state. you can see into parts of the high country and northeastern corner but once you head south, it is so dry and we're not going to have much moisture down there anytime soon. so it's going to continue to be a tinderbox down there. we're going to have very dry conditions. rain and snow in parts of the state and we really need that.

good news is had not been quite as windy. just wickedly windy yesterday. that helped doing a lot of damage and help the way of -- of the wildfire spread but now we're looking at dry conditions for the next several days. high pressure going to move to the southwest over the next day or so. temperatures are going to warm back up and dry out again as we head into the later part of the week and weekend as well. so this high-pressure is going to keep moisture from coming our direction. really anytime soon. so we have to really watch for fi >> lauren, thank you. new details about the man accused of planting a bomb outside the police station in oakland. today a former sheriff revealed a possible motive for the crime. lauren dispirito live in boulder tonight. lauren, investigators believe the suspect was part of a radical counterculture group many, many years ago? >> reporter: the group is called stp, and moved here to boulder from new york city in the 1970s.

behavior, and the controversial death of one of their members. in nederland in 1971, 19-year- old guy goffman disappeared. he belonged to a hippie family known as stp. shown here in boulder. went by the name deputy dog and was last seen at the pioneer in. >> where it was supposedly causing a disturbance. and was not seen again. was found dead a couple weeks later. >> reporter: george at says marshal renner force was to blame but they couldn't prove that until 26 years later. in 1997 when an ailing forbes confessed to the murder. >> my recollection is that he was very ill. he was unable to leave the nursing home. and apparently just wanted to get it off his chest. >> reporter: he never served prison time and now one fbi theory is fellow stp member

say he planted the bomb found outside the nederland police department. investigators identified the 64- year-old by a cell phone that failed to trigger the device. so far tonight, that theory remains unproven. and it's unclear whether it will be part of federal prosecutors case against ansberry. live in boulder, lauren dispirito, cbs4 news. develop and now a man is accused of harassing at least two young girls in thornton. on october 3rd a girl saw a naked man in a car near 134th and high street. he motioned for her to come over. a week later a man drove up to another girl and made lewd comments. in both cases the man was driving a white four-door sedan. developing news the search for three men who viciously attacked two good samaritans. those victims are sharing their

jeff todd live at 11th and broadway downtown. this couple saw another attack happening. >> reporter: jim, those three men you mentioned were assaulting someone. that's how this window got broken. but then the fight went all the way down the block pretty close to 12th avenue. and that's when another couple says they had no choice but had to get involved. >> entire region of my skull is immensely tender. >> reporter: kody an being brutally attacked saturday morning. >> the last thing i really remember is the three of them grabbing me and ramming my head directly into the brick wall. >> they were laughing and that's what was so disturbing and haunting. they were laughing while they were taking him over and over again. >> one of them held her while another punched her in the face and broke her nose. >> blind rage. >> violence. >> reporter: a detective is looking into the case but denver police didn't have much information for us.

with a large, cabins and the youth center. it could host thousands of visitors every month. but other neighbors argue the development would drastically increase chances of another wildfire. >> this is going to magnify that fear so much. we can't even grasp it at this time. >> reporter: david from lives in the nearby double -- douglas ranch subdivision. he says a wildfire would reach his neighborhood in less than two minutes. and potentially cut off the one road out of his 40 home hb is right in the epicenter of all of the fire activity that we had here in the last 20 years. >> good morning. >> reporter: a local fire chief called this the highest fire risk area in the front range. saying a blaze would be unstoppable. he urged county commissioners to kill the proposal. >> we do not have the ability to protect this proposal. i see this as a very much
