see here the most seriously damaged car in this crash. the whole scene spans a couple of blocks. there's debris scattered everywhere. well according to police this started when a driver headed southbound on brighton boulevard. hit one car and then we're told here she, we don't know if it's a man or woman that was behind the wheel but that's -- but that driver stuck -- took two more vehicles, so three total and clipped a bicyclist before o person this vehicle most seriously damaged was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. we know that according to one person here when this happened, the driver spun out, was spinning out in the middle of the road but eventually he or she was detained and taken into custody by police. police say witnesses actually detained that person until officers could arrive here on scene and

person behind the wheel who caused all this damage had been drinking and driving. we are live with the latest information in denver, lauren dispirito cbs4 news. murder charges after a stunning shooting case in denver. he allegedly shot two teenagers who first -- were trying to steal his marijuana. one is dead and the other might be left paralyzed. stan, the das office believes he shot another teenager last year. ep karen. we are in the alley behind the homeowner's home and you could see a memorial already set up for the team who died and the other teen -- for the teen who died and the other teen maybe paralyzed. they hopped the fence and then the homeowner when out his window and shot at them. we learned from prosecutors today this is not the first time he had shot at people in his neighborhood. >> 15-year-old killing mostly was shot and killed -- keelan

neighbors say the owner who shot him mostly kept to himself. >> when denver police began investigating in early october, they learned the shooting was not the first time he had tried to defend his marijuana with deadly force. in september 2015 he shot and injured a 17-year-old boy for jumping the fence as well da's office says the case went unreported likely because the victim didn't want to tell police he was trying to steal marijuana. >> i could see it through my bedroom window. every time i go out every week to be out the trash in my house i have to be reminded of the racial color line. it's annoying. >> four months before that shooting we spoke with hammock in his own after the community repainted a line that marked segregation down his alley. >> it's a daily reminder. why be reminded every day of

of metro denver and read on down into castle rock. the mountains in yellow is -- that's abnormally dry. the reservoir system is in pretty good shape right now. denver water tells me we're at 89% of capacity and normally at this time we are around 86% so we are going in to fall and winter in pretty good shape with regard to water storage but what happens down the road has to do with how happens here this winter. we are going to be watching the mountains as we go into december, january and february hoping for good snowfall to keep that reservoir storage up. we will continue to monitor the drought situation and something we call la nina forecasted in the winter. if that develops it is not always good news for us in denver from us -- from a snow standpoint. new at 10:00 tonight, a

leg -- one week left of business but passengers don't have another option because of problems with the a line to the airport. jeff todd has been looking into this dilemma and joined the settlement -- live at union station tonight. jeff? >> reporter: karen the hope was that the g line would bring passengers here and they could then hop on this headed out to dia but this a line has had so many problems that the g line is now delayed, so people are left wondering how well they affordably get to the airport >> it's been a fantastic service. there's nothing more convenient. >> jennifer has taken the shuttle to dia for the past four years and next month she needs to find a new way to the airport. >> it's not going to be as fast or convenient. it's not going to be nearly as pleasant as this has been. >> it's bittersweet because

donald trump and congressman coffman would punish women. and coffman tried to redefine rape to mean only forcible rape. in coffman's bill, victims who were drugged, even minors, victims of statutory rape, would not be considered rape victims. coffman and trump are too dangerous for colorado.

an update now on the breaking story where one person was seriously hurt after this crash caused by a suspected drunk driver. lauren dispirito is on the scene for us tonight. >> you can see the damage here. that person we are hurt told minor injuries but look at the debris and my car being towed away. one person in that vehicle was seriously hurt. you can also smell gasoline out here right now that had spilled. this all happened police say when a drunk driver smashed into three vehicles and we are told that -- that it was actually witnesses that stopped the person, detaining them until officers could arrive here on scene. live in denver lauren dispirito cbs4 news. >> defective airbags claim

a crash in southern california, making her the 11th pick them of to coddle's faulty airbags. they can explode on impact causing a metal canister tool -- to rupture. more than 69 million inflators have been recalled in the u.s. in this latest case honda says it may have more than 20 notices, but there is no record to indicate the airbags have been replaced. >> voters, you better watch yourself a. posting pictures of your ballot online is actually illegal. rick sallinger explains why. >> it's okay to take a selfie with ballot in hand but don't you dare show who you voted for. colorado secretary of state wayne williams says it's a misdemeanor that carries up to $1000 fine and up to a year in jail. >> the reason for that is the possibility of selling a vote, or trading that vote for something.

not just in colorado but in various states and countries around the world. the denver da sent out this press release reminding voters that posting selfies with filled in ballots is prohibited . the american civil liberties union calls it a crazy law. >> i thought issuing that release at this point in time is like a tacit threat to prosecute people for exercising their right to take photographs of >> the law may have teeth but not much of a bite. >> has anyone ever been prosecuted for this? >> i can't speak as to whether anyone ever has, i am not aware of any within the last few years. >> reporter: at selling one's vote is usually a matter taken to -- much more seriously than just a wink and a nod. >> rick sallinger reporting for us.

he watched officer chase miller give cpr. he told the dad to continue chest compressions while he ran to the patrol car to grab the mask. miller returned and after about two more minutes the boy started breathing. >> i was very thankful, very relieved that he started breathing, started coughing and crying. >> the boy and his parents had officer miller -- and later reunited. the boy is fully recovered and he got into -- and the officer got an award. they got into a big hobby shop. -- end hockey sticks worked -- were $300 each. but then by the door and then an accomplice helped load the loot into a van. >> it's a 60,000 square foot facility when you think about it on top of the roof to drop into the store where you aren't hitting anything, any beams or pipes or electrical lines and it's a line directly in the

that's going to moderate our temperature 67 degrees. we won't be 97 but we will be about 15 degrees warmer than we were today that still another cold night. in portions of el paso, we have a freeze warning from 1 am tomorrow morning also same time period frost advisory for yuma, kit carson and cheyenne counties. so we take a look at what we did today, it seemed cooler and it was but very close to no off at just 25 degrees. officially in the airport that was a few degrees off the record low today. downtown milder at 41 degrees. bailey said 58 and fox field -- so everybody kind of on the cool side. 47 now in dia, 46 person humidity, steady barometer and the southwest reasons, 40 degrees last hour and it's warmed up by 7 degrees.

all the ski area there coded in snow. this is sunset over kendrick lake. very dramatic because that's shot from lakewood. 20s and 30s over the eastern plains, tomorrow you start to feel the warm up. 60s, 70s, near 80 degrees for the western plains. 60s and 70s out west. here's the denver forecast, mostly clear skies an lows and then for tomorrow mostly sunny and warmer and low 70s above normal for this time of year and we stay that way. look at that near 80 degrees reading on 75 sunday, for bronco monday 72 degrees. the kickoff in the game -- 60s and then we stay in the 70s for wednesday and thursday of next week and cool it down to a little more seasonable as we get to next weekend. >> thanks, ed. maybe this video will get you in the mood for halloween.

we've had lots of opportunity to dwell on that. the broncos have set all week they don't blame him for taking the money and building town but that doesn't mean they won't try to stick it to them when he comes back. the comments have been pretty tame minus the part where brandon marshall jokingly said that the broncos will try to kill brock. apparently he's been hearing it all. >> it seems like they miss me. to make a statement with a win on saturday and that means a chance to see this guy christian mccaffrey. last year's heisman finalist hasn't exactly put up the gaudy numbers last year in large part because he's been dealing with an injury but don't let those highlights for you. he's still pretty good. they are likely to brightest spot -- to provide a bright spot and he's put up some pretty impressive numbers himself so he may have a little something to say before it is all said and done saturday. >> we heard about it for a long time. he did, he had a great year last year. it was hard to do what that man did. i don't look at s somebody. i'm happy he's representing for colorado. but i'm just focused on playing colorado football.
