and your week ahead. your forecast coming up. i just can't -- probably the best object we've ever had. >> it truly is. >> unreal. >> it feels so warm outside it's almost not football weather. but alas, football is coming back tonight. the broncos take the texans on at mile high. ashton is here with the broncos' forecast as well as the monday and week's forecast. good morning. >> good morning to you britt. hi t it is hard to believe this is october i mean look at the temperature in the tech center right now. it's 46 degrees there along i- 25. normally, we're waking up to temperatures in the lower 30s this time of year instead 40s even 50s around town. afterhave that is 55 if west -- arvada is 55 and westminster probation reporting the same and -- reporting the same. and yes it will be mild for the broncos' game tonight. we'll talk about that and plus rain and snow on the way@hiker.

-- to the hiker. all the details coming up in the -- hiker. all the details coming up. we have some construction projects going on and not just i-a and arapahoe road. we'll break those down coming up in a bit. all right thank you joel. denver police are looking for the suspect who shot and killed a man over the weekend in green valley ranch. cbs4's shawn chitnis is live with more on why neighbors were surprised to see police at their door early sunday morning. hi sha around this time yesterday that officers were knocking on doors trying to get information from neighbors as we can see right now it is very you quiet. they have secured -- very quiet. they have secured the home where this happened and there's security still outside of the house 24 hours later but again this is why it was so surprising for neighbors because this is usually they say a quiet area. and so they were surprised to see this all happening here in the 4700 block of ireland court. they say that officers don't

crimes and they can't remember the last time they saw someone here but dpd got calls of shots fired around 6:00 a.m. yesterday. when officers got to the scene they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he later died from the injuries. police aren't sure though what led up to this shooting. dpd hasn't released description of a suspect or any suspects in this case. police say they are still collecting evidence and of course getting information from witnesses and one question that they're still trying to answer, why th house because investigators don't think he lives there. and while dpd hasn't located who is responsible, police don't think that's a risk to anyone else in the community at this point but of course they need more details from anyone who may have seen or heard something or has information that could help them in their investigation. and you're asked to contact crime stoppers if you do. live in green valley ranch, shawn chitnis, cbs4 morning news. thank you. this morning people in colorado

cbs4's jamie leary live for us this morning. >> reporter: absolutely alan. in fact millions of americans have already chosen to mail their ballots in. some have chosen to drop them off here at the 24 hour ballot dropoff box. but starting this morning, you can actually walk into your polling place and vote in person. early voting centers will open in all 64 counties across the state. and will stay open until election day. for many the mail-in norm but others like the security of vote -- like that security of voting in person. according to the united states' election project, nearly 9,000 early votes have already been cast in colorado. still the majority of the people that we spoke with will take that mail-in ballot and drop it off in person or this morning, physically vote at their polling place. >> i like the idea of having the ballot beforehand. and being able to read through everything and make my decision before going into the actual

hand-off. >> reporter: don't forget to sign that return slip on that ballot before you send it in. it's 68 cents for postage. if you choose to mail it. live in denver, jamie leary, cbs4 morning news. >> although little known secret -- [ inaudible ] >> they will? good inside info there. ashton is here with the inside scoop on the forecast. >> this things you only get here on the cbs4 morning news right? good morning cbs4 weather watcher older in west littleton reporting 42. it's a mild start to this monday. most of us in the denver motier are in the 40s. fort collins greeley. same situation for you. most mountain towns are in the 30s and 0s. we have a -- 40s. we have a big plume of moisture out to the west of the state. california, nevada, utah, that's where the moisture is at this time. and over the next 24 to 36 hours, all of this is going to start making its way into

really could use some of this moisture, most of that is going to stay to the west of the front range. it's going to be beneficial for the mountains where we anticipate widespread rain and snow by tonight. pretty high snow level as welt all -- well up around 10,000 feet. most mountain towns i doubt much if any accumulation in town. by noon 68 and a high temperature today in denver of 77. we'll check your game forecast with the broncos tonight coming you have to deliver for us, take a look from the cbs4 mouse trap cam this morning, nice light volume with a pickup in the southbound direction. coming through town and shouldn't be any delays for you. this looks like a nine minute drive to i-70 from 120th. eastbound along i-270 still nice and wide open. here we are across the denver motier. of course we have the construction going on i-5 and arapahoe with some lane

that's going on there. but garrison street under the i- 70 bridge closed through wednesday and crews are tearing down a part of the bridge over the street. the detour is going to use the fraudulentage road as well as car street. small plane crashed after takeoff from the european island nation of malta this morning. all five people on board dead. video filmed by a passenger shows the fire along the runway there following that crash. witnesses say that twin prop after liftoff bursting into flames. malta is an island country if the middle of the mediterranean south of italy. a famed 19 60s anti-war activist and california legislator has died. tom hayden was 76 years old. he made headlines with his radical act vim during the -- activism during the '60s and

during the vietnam war. he later won the election to state senate in california where he served for nearly 20 years. his wife says he died in santa monica, california yesterday from a long illness. what led to the deadly week bus crash in california? at least 13 died when that bus rear ended a tractor-trailer along i-state 10 in palm springs. it happened at 5:00 in the morning the bus was returning from the red earth casi thermal. there's nothing yet end cuting problems by the driver but the bus was going to fast when it hit that truck the bus ended up about 15 feet into the tractor- trailer. with 15 days left until the election, hillary clinton and donald trump are really stepping up their efforts in key states. after making four stops in north carolina yesterday clinton campaigns with massachusetts' senator i

trump is in florida again today. a cbs news poll shows clinton leading trump by three points the florida and almost tied with trump in texas. u.s. senate's antitrust subcommittee now has a hear, next month to look at one of the biggest promagglio ordonezzed media emergency -- proposed media mergers in history announced over the weekend. at&t announced a deal to buy time warner. now regulators need to approve that deal and it could be more video content on your phone. and a company that was big getting bigger. coming up new guidelines on

70s and quite mild again for this time of year, then tomorrow we drop down 74. and then 72 on wednesday. that's as cool as it gets this week. 72. not bad at all for the final week in october of course what we really need is some moisture. not going to see anything today at least not for denver. maybe a little bit of rain or snow in the hiker later on. tailgating temperatures will be in the 70s and kickoff 6:30. 67 and then by halftime will be at 62. so agai that's really the story. for the game tonight. right now we're at 46 degrees in denver. it's 29 in leadville. this is where we'll be later on today. most mountain towns will top out in the 60s and obviously if there's any precipitation, in your area, if you're in the mountains, it's not going to be snow. it would be rain for you today. temperatures just too warm. here's our big plume of moisture from los angeles all the way up to salt lake city. to the east that's why we have this chance for seeing some rain and snow. here's the futurecast i'm going

you can see mainly rain in the high country. above about 10,000 feet tonight and tomorrow. there will likely be some snow including along i-70 going over vail pass and probably the approaches to the tunnel. but that's going to be tonight into tomorrow. not today. here's 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. still some mountain precipitation. maybe a shower in denver tomorrow. we really need the moisture we're now moderate drought for the entire motier. but the odds of seeing measurable precipitation tomorrow e after tomorrow's rain chance it's sunny and dry for the end of the week and through the upcoming weekend. let's check in with joel. hey good morning. take a look from the cbs4 mouse trap cam. southbound, a little more volume out there on the roadways it's nothing that's going to slow you down. as a matter of fact take a look at the drive. speeds into the 60s right now. making your way from thornton to denver. this is just going to be a nine minute drive. westbound along i-76 and eastbound looking great as well. here we are in the denver motier. we have the closure that's in

delivering groceries in china. here's karina mitchell with today's money watch report. >> reporter: investors will wait to see if wall street can rally after a mixed close on friday. the dow slid 16 points. while the nasdaq gained 15. vacuum cleaner makers dyson and sharp ninja are ending a two year legal dispute where each accused the other of false advertising. dyson known for its upscale cleaners and massachusetts based shark ninja each claim other. and wal-mart says it will pump $50 million into new data. china's largest online grocery business. and will offer a two hour delivery window there on groceries. two deal will increase the -- the deal will increase the footprint in china. new data has more than 25 million customers and delivers to more than 300 cities. and the canadian space agency has awarded a montreal company an almost $2 million u.s. contract to advance

right now let's get a check on the traffic with joel. and it's been a great drive across the denver motier this morning ashton. take a look this is from the cbs4 mouse trap cam to the west, that traffic moving in the eastbound direction making its way to i-5. and -- 25. and look at this. southbound into town just a nine minute drive. alan? thank you joel. denver police looking for a person responsible for a shooting over the weekend that killed a man in green valley ranch. cbs4's shawn chitnis live this morning on why neighbors were kind of at their door early yesterday. shawn? >> reporter: well, alan, they tell us the scene was pretty similar to what we saw right now which is quiet in the distance we can see the home is closed off and there is a security patrolling and of course securing the scene at this hour, and so neighbors were surprised to see that this area was just usually quiet and doesn't often have police in the area investigating crimes. this is the 4700 block of ireland court.
