them this week. >> thank you. let's head back to the cbs4 studios. >> while it was easy to get up. check out the broncos country hero of the game. denver police sergeant tony lopez junior. there it is. the department treated out this picture. lopez junior badly wounded during a traffic stop last year. after months of hard work a family terrified and fed up. two stray bullets blast into their curtis park home over the weekend. there wondering if denver police are doing enough to fight crime in their neighborhood. ambush caught up with the family at their home. >> reporter: this area is close to coolers -- close to coors field and numerous bars so police already have their hands full. after a shooting this weekend, residents are unhappy a shooting didn't get a faster response. patrick murphy woke up sunday

admitted obamacare premiums are going up on average 25% across the country. that had us wondering about colorado rates. we found the spike as much work in parts of -- much worse in parts of our state. people in some areas could see 40% increases. >> reporter: the concern is that these premiums are going up so much that people are going to have to face a decision to either have insurance or go without. we were told today almost 0, going to need a new plan next year.>> it could be a tough open enrollment when people wake up to these prices and/or seeing them for the first time . >> reporter: this map shows the areas of colorado that will see the highest increases. western, southern and eastern colorado could see plans skyrocket by 40%. >> the cost of care is just higher. in denver, you could be looking

>> reporter: joe hamill analyzes healthcare policy and says there are several reasons for the increase: more expensive healthcare, political factors and insurance carriers are leaving colorado with fewer plans. >> there are some counties where there is only one carrier left. you can't do a whole lot of comparison shopping. the danger with these price increases is people are just going to say i can't afford it . >> reporter: next week, open enrollment begins estimated 92,000 people will need a new insurance plan for 2017. the choice could be spending thousands per month or just $700 for a tax penalty for the year.>> we are worried the uninsured rate will head up. we hope that doesn't happen. >> reporter: there are tax incentives for lower income people. we are told colorado is going to be pushing that more. we spoke to the people at connect for health colorado.

snow. drone 4 through over a resop -- flew over arapahoe basin on friday. crews at nearby loveland are eager to get their lifts going. >> a frustrating couple weeks. we started in early october and got off to a great start and we have been battling temperatures unfortunately. the next 8 to 10 days is not looking great for snowmaking so we are in a holding pattern. >> our mountain newsroom team also paid a visit to keystone. they are planning to open november 4. getting any help from nature? >> not anytime soon. we have a little snow coming to the high country above 11,000 feet. some higher ski areas may be able to use that but it will only be one to 4 inches. you can see this jet stream ahead of this system rotating off the coast pushing that mr. inland. now, that is something we haven't seen for a while. let's go to the hour by hour forecast and see that it gets pretty heavy over the west here with showers and snow at higher
