high country, above about 10,000 feet becoming snow. for denver and the front range, we're mainly dry today and mild as well. we have 55 degrees on the northwest side of arvada. we'll take a look at the forecast through the weekend including the outlook for the next broncos game on sunday, coming up in a few minutes. it's a great drive across the metro area. as you garrison, they are doing work there. look for restrictions through tomorrow. breaking overnight, a man died after a crashing into a pole overnight. this is a look at the scene near mississippi and santa fe. police haven't said much about what happened and roads in the area are now back open. denver police are looking for a shooting suspect this morning. last night a man shot something on dartmouth avenue near parker road.

a man in his 20s wearing a dark hoodie and light colored pants. breaking out of australia, four people died during an accident on a theme park ride. a malfunction caused two to be ejected from the ride, and two others were quote, caught inside. they were on a river rapids ride at dream world. the theme park is closed this morning for that investigation. neighbors sait too many visitors who can cause fires. the local fire department confirms the area is known to be the highest fire risk area along the front range. this morning there's a hearing to determine if the catholic arch diocese can construct a cat catholic retreat in jefferson county. >> reporter: commissioners are expected to vote on the plans for the retreat this morning.

a retreat that could host thousands of visitors every month. our investigation uncovered the plans which include a conference center with a lodge, cabins and youth center on a 250-acre parcel of land off 285. the community is extremely fearful. this area has seen significant fires over the years, untiling the buffalo creek and high meadow fires. the local chief is urging proposal, call to go area the highest fire risk area in the front range and said a blaze would be unstoppable. officials say they are the last people that want to do something that could create a fire risk and say they want to install a mitigation plan. unfortunately something that could hurt its case, the subject of its previous retreat in allens park, burning down five years ago in an accidental fire.

if you're watching from the western slope, you're definitely getting that beneficial moisture. up along i-70, it's mainly to the west of glenwood springs where the moisture is at this point. that moisture trying to make its way into the colorado high country. because temperatures are so warm even in the mountains, mountain towns won't see any snow but up above 10,000 feet there could for the denver metro, just a slight chance for an isolated shower this morning. by noon 69 and high today of 74. let's check traffic. it's a great drive across the metro, nice and wide open heading across town. the only thing in your way are the other cars. we're pretty much green across the map.

to denver. 270 wide open, and take a look at drive times from the east. northbound on parker road, speeds in the 40s, speeds in the 70s and 60s both directions along 225. >> everybody driving nice this morning. a football fan is hurt after a fall at mile high stadium last night. shawn chitnis is live at the stadium this morning with what we know. >> reporter: good morning. certainly a scary this happening as people railroad celebrating the win the team had at mile high stadium. denver fire says they did have to respond to a fall here around 9:40 p.m., about an hour after the game was over and the broncos did beat the houston texans. very little has been confirmed but we are told a person fell several stories here at the stadium, and it may have taken place at gate 5 here.

last night but they were able to quickly clear the scene. we are told from denver health they did receive one person taken to the hospital with injuries from a fall here at the stadium. we don't know any more about the victim or their condition but it appears there was a significant fall. it's unclear how serious those injuries are going to be. we hope to learn more later today. news. a former postal worker is now in big trouble and will have to address the court over missing mail. prosecutors sauteson hidalgo withheld 26,000 pieces of mail, hording it for the past two years. he could get up to five years in prison. developing now, police want to find a dangerous man wanted for killing two people.

murder again. michael vance jr. posted live videos on facebook while running from police during a violent crime spree. he shot two officers using and assault-style weapon, stole one of their cars as well as other cars, and is also accused of killing his aunt and uncle on sunday. >> the mentality that nothing is going to be able to stop him. >> vance has a criminal he's been charged in the past with assault, drug possession and recently in a child sex abuse case. his family fears he may come back and attempt to kill more family members. campaign 2016, a couple of weeks until it's all over. hillary clinton and donald trump are holding rallies in florida today. during a campaign swing yesterday, the republican nominee maintained polls

pregnant women use nitrous oxide or laughing gas. researchers say the new moms use it to minimize pain during childbirth on top of asking for an open during. interestingly enough, it's been used by pregnant women in labor since 1881 decline can speed up after a natural disaster among these who are vulnerable. a new study states women could be catching up with men when it comes to drinking alcohol. doctors found the gap between men and women nearly disappearing in problematic usage and associated harms over time. historically men have been more likely than women to drink in large quantities that damage their health.

now, ashton. >> it was a late night for some folks. 53 degrees this morning in denver, 53. we're normally waking up to around 33 this time of year. it's been warm and dry and that's a concern. we are about an inch and a quarter below for the season, two and a half below for the year. the western slope getting beneficial moisture san juan mountains, where there's been some rain and a few rumbles of thunder. rain is trying to move into the high country. i think we'll see snow in the mountains today, including summit county. but because temperatures are so warm, the snow level will be high, around 10,000 feet or so. there could be minor

we have garrison is closed under i-70 as they do bridge work. all this green out there means a great drive this morning. thank you very much. pickup trucks may be among the biggest vehicles on the road but a new study finds their headlights may not be good enough, which affects other drivers. nhtsa evaluated 11 of the most popular pickup trucks. >> headlights just wide enough distribution of light across the road to allow drivers to see where they need to. >> the honda ridgeline is the only pickup that received a good rating. most automakers are already trying out new technology to make improvements. coach kubiak gets the game ball after the broncos get the

the broncos sacked osweiler just once, but in an effort to protect their quarterback, the texans couldn't move the ball much. osweiler finished the night with 137 yards and 41 attempts, the lowest total by any quarterback in the league since 2003 in a game with 40 or passing attempts. the broncos will meet the san diego chargers, this time here in denver. let's hope they use that home field advantage like they did last night. >> anderson was ready to run.
