in castle rock's queen creek development. any idea what chemicals we're dealing with here? >> well jim that's really the million dollars question crews are not telling us right now. what chemicals were found in that house. so federal resources are being brought in right now and they're going to be determining what exactly was found in the home that's just around the corner here about 10 houses down the way. this all began around 8:00 this morning when castle rock police came to notify parents that night. while there, officers noticed a small box of unknown chemicals then brought in fire crews to check that out. fire then called in the bomb squad because the items that they found appeared volatile but the douglas county bomb squad said they needed more sophisticated equipment because other suspicious items were found in the home. so now the fbi is on the way as 30 homes in this area are

the chemicals are benign. but out of an abundance of caution we have to assume that there's a certain area of danger that we need to move people out of to keep them safe. >> so that's the reason for the evacuations. >> we do know that investigators are talking to people who live in that home. it's unknown if there will be any charges at this point. police cannot say exactly wh those two kids were arrested for because they are juveniles but at this poeupbtd they don't believe that that case is any way related to the chemicals that were found inside this home. jeff todd is here and he will have the very latest tonight on cbs4 news at 10:00. reporting live in castle rock, kelly worthman. you can see the man right here pretty good picture of

fish company that's located along hammond. they gave you the exclusive video of the thief in action. >> reporter: yeah, and this video karen is very, very clear. in fact, take a look at this. they even advertise on their front door that they have security on the property here. and it's very good security. but the owners say this thief was brazen enough to walk right through this door during business hours. >> so you see him case the back. looking at doors, going all the way to the north. kind of like he's plotting out his escape rout. >> reporter: this thief is caught on several cameras at the fresh fish company. even strolls past the host. co-owner karen parker says what you don't see on camera is a second door that the thief

makes me feel angered. thank goodness none of my staff members or guests were injured. i want to catch this guy. >> parkers concerns now is for neighboring businesses. she wants them to be more secure tonight. live in denver, jennifer grace. now to an update on the search for a 13 -month-old boy believed to have been killed in wyoming. authorities postponed the planned search this morning at a colorado landfill. logan rogers is accused of killing that child. rogers told investigators a number of different stories. including that the child hit his head and died the next day. he also told investigators he wrapped the child in a

the contents of that dumpster go to the landfill in galt. new information might change the search. the child was reported missing nearly 10 days ago. an 83-year-old woman has critical injuries after being run over by her own car. investigators say she may not have put it on park. a story you will see only on four. sounds like a freak accident. >> yeah it instead of putting the vehicle on park she somehow put it on neutral. she then got out of the car to try to get something out of the backseat. when she did that the car started rolling toward her and rolled over her. >> i thought it was a hit and run. it was something like a robbery. >> reporter: witness arlian hill is searching for answers after a bizarre accident in thorton that left an 83-year- old woman in critical condition.

he's hoping that renewed investigation over hillary clinton's e-mails. >> how can hillary clinton manage this country when she can't even manage her e-mails. >> reporter: the fbi is reviewing 650,000 e-mails found on a laptop clinton's top aid shared with her estranged husband, former congressman anthony weiner who's under investigation for allegedly sexting a minor. >> i am sure they will reach the same conclusion they did for the last year. there is no case here. >> fbi director james comey notified congressional members of the new e-mail friday. the timing of the disclosure prompting accusations of trying to influence the election. >> an opinion that had no business being stated. he's a policeman he's not supposed to comment on the behavior of anybody.

bundle up this halloween. >> not at all jim. i have the perfect place for you to bring you and your little ghost and goblins to trick or treat. look at this. 75degrees the current temperature here. we're at denver district six police headquarters. look at all the trick or treaters out here gathering their candy. the police department has put on a fantastic show both inside with a haunted hallway and here outside. you can see over here the mounted patrol is out. they have brought all kinds of their police vehicles from we have the low rider right here. and the denver sheriff department has brought their bus and turned it into a haunted halloween bus. they even have the mobile command center. just a fantastic place to be out here tonight. a safe environment to bring your little ghosts and goblins and trick or treat. the weather could not be better. ed green we know it's fantastic here in denver how is it looking ac.o. a -- looking across the rest of colorado.

encountered gonzalez. the police department posted a interview with officer eid. >> we were looking at his eyes and quickly i looked down and saw, he has a gun in his right hand. >> shots fired. >> it was very clear that his intention was to kill me. >> reporter: police shot and killed gonzalez after a brie chase. the police department found that shooting was justified. researchers found a way to treat children with peanut allergies. >> decenttize them to the peanut allergy. train the body to react to a smaller amount of peanut

a cure. sturgiss has been weary of peanuts as long as he can remember. >> if i swallow one little bit of peanut, i can swallow it and my throat will close up. >> reporter: every day he wore a tiny disk carrying increasing amounts of peanut protein. >> it looks good there's no redness. there's no swelling. >> now, after a year of actual clinical trials, researchers found that nearly half of those treated with the patch could eat before. >> 10 times more peanut actually for a lot of these patients is less than actually one peanut. so these are not kids who can go out and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwich. >> reporter: pediatric allergist says the treatment

tomorrow. a couple of scattered showers. that's all we're going to see over the next several days. we'll roll this right into thursday. thursday at noon. you can see we have sunny skies over the eastern plains just a sprinkle over the southwest and that's it as far as the moisture goes. we have a red flag warning as you might expect. this one goes until 7:00 tonight for high fire danger. take a look at this. behind the front temperatures much cooler than they were this time yesterday with degrees in steam boat and craig respectively. ahead of this, we were warmer than we were. this cool air is coming our way and that's going to actually get us to seasonal. but guess what, it doesn't last very long. as we take a look. here's the front just about to drop through the denver area. we're under the influence of this warm front today. for the last several days it's been very warm around here with that southwesterly flow. now we go into a north westerly flow. not much moisture with it

and into the southeast. let's go to lauren whitney. we know it's been a warm month. >> we're going to have having our fourth warmest october. very warm for us in 2016. and it is going to continue to be that way for the next several days. although we will cool off right away. take a look for october. some of those were knocking on the door of 90. only a couple of days below our average seasonal temperature. we have one 40-degree day. officially today we hit 79 degrees which was another record day for us here in denver. but just take a look at how warm it could be. we had a very warm month and it's going to continue to be a bit warm as we head into november. ed breaking a record tieing today what did we get.

that's warming up. 71degrees. 79 downtown. 52 is the low. that's 20 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. 10 is as cold as it's gotten on this day. 73 in alamosa. everybody well above normal as we are right now with 77 and 74. north breeze at 18. if you didn't get up early sunday morning you may have slept through the fog because it burned off as on. look at this fog over johnson reservoir. a very interesting picture. on a different morning nice shob from ron ruhoff. dramatic colorful colorado shot. 20s, 30s for the mountains. 20s and 30s out west. a little cooler. 50s, 60s, 70s in the eastern plains. mostly 60s out west.

and unfortunately, congressman coffman isn't, either. donald trump isn't for us. just listen. and as families struggle to make ends meet, coffman voted against equal pay for equal work 11 times. it gets worse. coffman said he would support donald trump for president. and that's all we really need to know.

well gary kubiak was asked if wade phillips had a specific injury after he was hit in the sidelines yesterday during the game. gary said no he just got the heck knocked out of him. it was a scary scene yesterday but good news today as wade phillips was back to work. gary said he had to try to send wade away and send him home from work today but wade refused. now wade joked on twitter that he would get day award. sideline injuries have not been a new thing for wade. as they say in football, he will just have to keep his head on a swivel. >> there's a lot of guys down there that can't move. gunner is on punt team. you have to pay attention and boy he got caught pretty good.

guess. >> certainly glad that wade is going to be okay. on a basketball note, the nuggets beginning on the road in toronto. tip off coming at 5:30. matthew shane had one goal in the first 11 games of the season last year. this year he says he's handle the pressure better has led to more success. >> when you face tough times it's fight or flight. i've been a fighter, maybe too much times. instead of going home and forget about it i dwell on it and dwell on it and dwell on it. so even in practice if i don't score i get frustrated and angry. i've gotten rid of that. so that's taken a lot of my shoulders. i feel thankful not to feel that way anymore.
