in adams county people in one mobile home park people waking up to flashing lights. >> it's happened on east bridge street north of bar lake. our shawn chitness hustleed out there. >> shawn, what do just getting on scene so we're getting as many details as we can from brighton police. it is a very busy scene as they're keeping us a good distance away. starting at 1:30 in the morning, calls coming in about a disturbance in the area. so police came to check out, see what was happening and they found a man on the porch of one of the mobile homes here and saw him bleeding. they think he had stab wounds.

injuries were. clearly bleeding and so he was taken to the hospital. police tell us he actually died at the hospital while in surgery. they are of course investigating this now as a homicide. we also know that there was a gathering at that house, but this victim didn't live there. so they're working to get a few more details from the family. at this point they have no suspect information, so that's something they're going to continue to work on. they do have a search warrant, or at least working on their investigation. because of that, they will have this area closed off for quite some time. we're just getting here, so we're going to try to get more details and bring that to you throughout the show. live in brighton, shawn chitness, cbs4 morning news. thanks, shawn. let's go to castle rock with breaking news. more than two dozen families are now allowed back home after explosive materials were found in the plum creek neighborhood. jamie leary is live there this

forced to evacuate yesterday. allowed to return home this morning. this is the home behind me where the explosive devices and chemicals were found. you can still see the hazmat bags piled in the driveway next to hazmat bins. it's still taped off. it's been quiet this morning. those residents who were evacuated yesterday told they can come back at 5:00 this morning. investigators say the evacuation was necessary so they could detonate the devices found. take a >> reporter: authorities found what they described as volatile chemicals inside of this home. the explosive devices, those were detonated in a hole on the golf course that butts up to the homes. they were discovered after the arrest of two teenage boys monday morning. their arrests were unrelated to the chemicals found in one of their homes. the police chief said there have been a number of car break-

the two teens were acting suspicious and arrested. when police couldn't get a hold of their parents they went to one of their homes. what they discovered inside required an all hands on deck response. >> while the officers were in the home here in castle rock, officers observed some suspicious concerning chemicals. in my time here i've not seen this level from a juvenile. >> reporter: now, those two teens, they're in custody on charges unrelated to what was found inside of this home. more charges could come later. we're told their parents are currently cooperating. live in castle rock, jamie leary, cbs4 morning news. thank you. this morning we are watching breaking news out of baltimore. here's a live look at what is happening there. clearly there has been a terrible crash involving a school bus and what we feel is a city bus there in baltimore. we're not sure about the

students were injured on that school bus. we are watching this. there you can see it looks like it was almost a t bone that happened and the front of the school bus is smashed there. >> it's accordioned into that other bus. there are some injuries. but who is injured, how many, oftentimes the school buses are in transit without students. we're hoping that was the case. but at least the driver was there. we'll update you as soon as we that's in baltimore this morning. >> we are getting one report just in that people may have died in this crash. we'll continue to follow it and we'll bring any updates here. two children and one adult are dead in a crash involving a trailer pulling people for halloween in mississippi. several others were injured when a vehicle struck the flat bed trailer and the three people killed in the crash are related. two died at the scene. the other died waiting for a police helicopter.

the crash took place in the town of chunky, about 80 miles west of jackson, mississippi. want to turn to weather and traffic now, this first day of november, after an awesome october. here's ashton. >> yes indeed. we tied for the second warmest october on record. now temperatures it start november are on the warm side. perhaps no surprise we're starting the new month similar to the way we finished the last one. city park at 6. the north. especially compared to yesterday at this time. boulder is 17 degrees colder. erie is 20 degrees colder now than we were on monday morning. you will notice the chill this morning at the bus stop 47. to put that into perspective, we're normally around 30 at the bus stop this time of year. again, it's cooler, but still far above normal. that's really going to be the trend for today. we'll top out at 67 degrees, or more than 10 degrees below where we were yesterday. still about 10 degrees above
