both sitting in their patrol cars when they were shot. police in that area are on edge. they have yet to release any suspect information. they may not know. we are watching for all developments on this big story. moments ago we learned police in des moines are now pairing up their officers. nobody goes out alone. a popular for profit college shuts down leaving students upset about money wasted. signs at heritage college say the school is out our shawn chitness is live at the campus with the latest on chapped out there. good morning, shawn. >> reporter: britt, good morning. we can still see those notices up on the doors behind me here. for some students that was the only way they were going to find out the school was closing, and they are so upset they're planning to gather outside of the building in a few hours to voice their anger at what's happening. this notice coming out just as some students were in school

graduate. this for profit school offers programs in health related jobs. the college says they're permanently closing their doors. the note says they don't have enough money to keep operating. students attending class yesterday morning had no idea about the plan to shut down later that day and they don't know if they'll get their certificates they've earned and paid for. even teachers say they were told only es were signs the school was running out of cash and couldn't afford basic school supplies. >> i'm really upset. i don't know what's going to happen. i didn't go to school over a year to have the rug pulled from underneath me like this. >> reporter: just one of the many students that is very upset, understandably by this. some of them spending as much as $16,000. we reached out to the school that has offices in denver, but

let's get a check on the traffic, including i-70 in the mountains. here's joel. we're watching up into the high country and ashton, look at these pictures. low visibility. you have the tracks of the tires in that fallen snow from the eisenhower tunnel to vail pass. passenger traction restrictions in place. no restrictions along u.s. 6 over loveland pass, though. across the abandoned car in the eastbound direction of i-70 and sheridan. it's blocking off the shoulder, not causing delays. a pretty bad accident traveling along speer at 13th. that has closed off three lanes there. joel, thank you so much. you may have noticed social media is playing a big part in the election process. from people voicing their opinions to taking selfies when they probably shouldn't be. singer justin timberlake recently did something that

this is the selfie justin timberlake now regrets. he took a picture to document his vote while back in his home state of tennessee. unfortunately, taking photos of video inside polling stations is illegal in tennessee and here in colorado. today a federal judge will hear arguments for and against these ballot selfies. the colorado law banning anyone from publishing their ballot choices has been on the books since it passed in 91 and violates citizens' rights of free speech. on october 20th, colorado's district attorney reminded people it's unlawful to send out the pights on speed -- pictures on social media.
