thank you. cbs news has learned about a potential terror threat for monday ahead of election day. sources say u.s. intelligence has alerted joint terrorism task forces that al-qaida could be planning attacks in new york, texas and virginia, all possible targets. although, no specific locations were mentioned. the sources stress the intelligence is still being assessed and its credibility has not yet been confirmed. but counterterrorism officials were alerted to the of an abundance of caution. more than 1.4 million votes in colorado. the campaigns are hitting our state again. it is a sign colorado is yet again a key battleground state. jamie leary live at the capitol this morning with a closer look. >> reporter: good morning, alan. if you had any doubt that colorado is a crucial swing state, this jam packed schedule

both have a busy three stop tour in colorado today. bill clinton campaigning for his wife this morning in pueblo, followed by afternoon events in denver and fort collins. for carson, he'll make his first stop in colorado springs today, and then he's headed to castle rock, ending the day in aurora. both are zeroing in on colorado hoping to sway young and undecided voters. the rush for the last minute face time comes as the most recent tightening. a university of denver poll released wednesday showed clinton and trump in a dead heat. also taking part in a last- minute campaign stop senator bernie sanders. he'll be in colorado saturday, starting his campaign tour off with a visit in colorado springs, followed by a visit in aurora stumping for hillary clinton. of course, the obvious differences aside, both will be pushing to sway those undecided

news, beyonce will join her husband at a get out the vote event in cleveland tonight. a gang shootout erupted leaving one man dead back in late july, there was a hip-hop concert in lodo. the slow promoter warned denver police there were many gang members at the show. lieutenant ron mcdaniel got the warning, but sent the entire gang unit early anyway. after the show, violence erupted with hundreds of shots fired. galen armstrong died in the gunfire. in correspondence obtained by cbs4 by the department of public safety, it said the death might not have happened had there been a visible police presence. >> he's acknowledged his mistake, he's been disciplined and we're going to move on. >> the lieutenant was penalized six days pay.

this is at c-470 and bowles. single car rollover accident. that will slow folks down as we get a few more cars on the roadways. i-70, i-25, speeds in the 70s. nine minutes from thornton to denver right now. this is the cbs4 mousetrap cam. southbound along i-25 as you approach i-70, that's starting to load up. a lot of headlights. nothing that will slow you down too bad. the one other accident we're following, mississippi and pierce in lakewood. joel, thank you a woman missing since august is found alive in south carolina and we are learning she was being held captive. now police say they may have a serial killer on their hands. 30-year-old kayla brown and her 32-year-old boyfriend, charlie carver were reported missing august 31. police in south carolina got a tip and came to a property where they heard a loud banging

container. that's when they found brown. >> it was pretty emotional to say the least, when she was found, especially when she was chained like a dog. she had a chain around her neck. >> police are now searching the property because brown told them there could be more bodies on the property. her boyfriend is still missing. 45-year-old todd coalhappen is now in police custody and facing several charges. priceless items from fallen soldiers could be gone forever. only on 4, our high speed chase and the damage it's caused for a veterans organization. >> happened in the middle of the night and we didn't realize it. >> reporter: bernadette borrego's truck looked a lot like this one before it was stolen. >> it's sentimental to us. >> reporter: the truck was full of items belonging to boot 66. >> we had boots in the truck

military personnel that were killed in iraq or afghanistan that the family had donated to us and those are priceless. >> reporter: this is a recent ceremony boots 66 had to honor lance corporal brandon pearson who died four years ago in afghanistan. it's not known where the memorabilia are, because the truck they were in is still being held as evidence. >> it killed us to lose our truck, but it killed more that the possessions he had in there. there's pictures of fallen heros in there. >> reporter: luke batts and brandon mcintosh are believed to have stolen the truck and picked it apart. >> it's the stuff from the families that they gave of their fallen family members

degrees warmer than we were yesterday. most mountain towns will top out in the 50s or lower 60s later on. cloud cover moving in from the south all because of this storm system here between phoenix and albuquerque. it will move into southern colorado starting later today. obviously the southern part of the state will have the biggest impact from this storm. winter weather advisory for the san juan mountains, high country locations, telluride, lake city, durango, 3 to 6 inches of feet. that does include red mountain pass near ouray, could be weather-related travel problems there. elsewhere in the high country, not going to be much in terms of accumulation. the mountains as far north as i- 4 corridor could see snow tonight. the biggest impact will be in the san juans. a lot of rain for cortez,

good morning. >> good morning. it's been a long time, actually for the first time since many of the current broncos' players were in grade school, broncos and raiders rivalry, it's actually a rivalry again. the raiders are 6-2 for the first time since 2001. the teams are tied for first place in the afc west, as the broncos are about to begin a stretch where four of their next five games are on the road. both teams have done good in this game should come down to who best manages the things they have not done so well. coach kubiak says the offense has to be a lot better. he says the run game has been nonexistent in the win over the chargers. when the broncos can't run, they can't protect quarterback

run defense and have allowed 125 rushing yards per game. as a result, the raiders have been outgameed in four of their six wins. but they still got the wins. when it game is over the rushing stats may tell the stories. my x factor is demarcus ware. le played 26 games after a fractured forearm and did he show how much tougher it is to handle the broncos defense he's on the field. teams can't continue to gang up on von miller now that ware is back in the lineup. derek carr through for 513 yards last sunday in the raiders' win over the buccaneers. that's really rare. it was only the 20th 500-yard passing game in league history. the broncos will have faced five quarterbacks on that list
